We had the best time on this tour. We got to taste some really great food, have some amazing beverages and learn a lot about Reykjavik. Jon was awesome and was a wealth of info and took us to some really amazing places-some real hidden gems! Definitely book this tour if you are in Reykjavik. We would book it again in a heartbeat!

Everything on your Icelandic food checklist is provided by this amazing Reykjavik food and alcohol tour. At least everything social media tells you to try! We had the Icelandic hotdog, fermented shark, rye bread, the famous cinnamon roll, lamb soup, a savory cod dish and more. Throw in some amazing brews, cocktail and even a shot and you feel like you have got your value worth from this experience. Jon an amazing guide and part owner of the company who is a native of Reykjavik, easy to be around and full of local recommendations. This truly may be our best food tour yet.

Sven was a great guide very knowledgeable on local history and landmarks, fun personality, great food and drinks. As a well as excellent recommendations on other things to do while in Iceland. Won’t find a tour like this anywhere else. Nordic Nonsense is the way to go

My dad and I absolutely loved this tour! John was incredibly kind and knowledgeable . He took us to the best places in Reykjavik (which we revisited again on our trip since we loved them). We had such a wide range of foods and excellent beers. We definitely had our moneys worth of food and loved getting a tour from a local. This is a must-do experience if you want to try all the best local dishes while learning so much about the Icelandic culture!

What an amazing evening with Jon our tour guide. It’s been one of my highlights in Reykjavik doing this tour. Definitely value for money with the amount of food and drink and then the added bonus of the knowledge and friendly tour guide Jon. You need to do this tour at the beginning of your holiday to get bearings and find fantastic places to eat .

I highly recommend this tour with Nordic Nonsense. The guide was great. The food was all amazing, we got numerous drinks (two flights and then some!). Left the tour full and wit a little more knowledge on Reykjavik and Iceland than we started.

Great authentic Icelandic food and history lesson along the way. Wonderful experience and Jan our host was tremendous and friendly. We ended up seeing great northern lights throughout the walking tour. Spectacular dancing colors. Be prepared to eat a lot. Great food.

Our guide John was fantastic!!!! It was windy and cold but he was there to take me and my daughter to the tour of our lifetime!! He was kind and professional!!! Loved all the experiences, the fermented shark, the lamb soup, amazing bread, cod and hot dogs . Lots delicious beers and fascinating cocktails!!! Loved it all!! Thank you!!! Fun, informative and yummy stuff!! It was just my local friend, me (visiting) and the guide, Jon. He does bigger groups of course, but it was just the three of us on a Tuesday evening and it was perfect. Jon is extremely knowledgeable about everything Iceland, from its geological history, cultural history and of course Iceland’s culinary history as well.

Food, drinks and an excellent tour guide! Our guide, Jon, a native of Reykjavik, sprinkled our food tour with Icelandic history. We were treated to iconic food from Iceland’s humble beginnings, to traditional food, to the elevated dining of Iceland today. Wow! All of this was enhanced by various beers and... well, there are some secrets. You need to go with Jon yourself and get the full experience. This tour is SO worth it!

This was the perfect thing to do on my first afternoon/evening in Reykjavik. It was a great way to get a good feel for the layout of the city and have a great food experience. The guide gives such a personalized tour, makes great conversation and is passionate about the spots they stop at for food. You could tell that the plans were well thought out and there was a great balance of making sure we tried all the traditional Icelandic dishes, enjoyed delicious drinks, and learned history about the awesome country of Iceland. I loved this!

Excellent, excellent tour. Jon was the perfect tour guide for this wonderful jaunt through the history and culture of the city, told through food, and punctuated by fun and laughter. We started with beer and ended with beer, and tried classic Icelandic fare all throughout. If you're here for pizza and burgers prepare to be disappointed. 😜 Jon was an excellent host and showed extensive local knowledge, tourist tips, and even discounts in select stores. Vibe was light and friendly and he wasn't too imposing with time. We learned from him and he learned from us, and that's all anyone can ask for. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Worth every penny!

I was a bit apprehensive about the price , but it was sooo worth it! So much food and drinks! All the food was very delicious (besides the fermented shark ). I tried many beers and they were all very good. What made this excursion even better was Jon ! He was very knowledgeable and kindly answered all my questions. I was the only one that booked that day so he could have easily canceled ! What a stand-up guy to still take me.

Jon was fantastic. He introduced us to icelandic foods at 5 or 6 establishments inclluding a variety of beers and gave insightful information about the history and culture of Iceland. No other sign-ups, so I had a special experience with my guide, Svenni. He was relaxed and knowledgeable as he led me to several establishments. I got a good over view of Icelandic cuisine, PLUS- history, politics, architecture and culture. I cannot recommend more highly Svennis' company, Nordic Nonsense. It was a sunny day in June, and the Icelanders were out in force soaking up the sun, so I was the recipient of sunny day Reykjavik vibes. Loved every moment. Thank you, Svenni!

If you want to truly feel like a local, take this tour! The owner was incredibly kind, knowledgeable and thoughtful. We learned a lot of interesting history and were able to truly enjoy the local food and drinks. Each stop we were served local meals and he even brought a very special 4th food tasting from a local farm. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had a great time. GO HUNGRY!!! You will leave very full. Can’t recommend this more highly!
