Our tour guide, Asi, was at the meeting place on time. Asi was a native Icelander so he was able to share a good deal about life in Iceland, its politics, history and folklore. He had an outgoing personality and was a good story teller. He also had a few surprises along the way, which greatly added to the experience. Many sites were visited at an easy going pace. I highly recommend this small group tour.

Don’t miss out on this tour. Well worth it. Ryan was an excellent tour guide. Informative and funny. Able to address people’s questions. I recommend doing this as a first tour and a great way to learn about Iceland and its history

Excellent guides and knowledge on the city’s history.
Highly recommend. Our guide was amazing. Small group made it even better.

Some guides can be more animated and humprous than others. But my feeling is that personalities aside, its a great way to get familiar with the city and underdtand what you are actually looking at.

Great introduction to Reykjavik. We booked this during our 6 hr layover and it was perfect to see the highlights of town in a quick manner. The walk was mostldown hill and ended 20 min. Walk from the main bus terminalso we just walked back to it. Thor was very nice, informative and entertaining. Highly recommend.

This walking tour was great introduction to Reykjavik and Iceland. Ágústa was an amazing guide. She knowledgeable about all the sites we visited and history of the city, country and people. There was time built into the tour that allowed us to visit shops that we passed along the route. She also provided great recommendations of places to visit for drinks and dinner. I cannot recommend this tour enough for anyone who wants a quick yet thorough introduction to Reykjavik.

Walked around Reykjavik with Gemma and learned a bit of history and saw some of the major and minor sites. Included info on what life is like for residents.
Elizabeth_A, Jun 2026
Gemma was very nice and knowledgeable. She set a great pace for our group. Each stop had a lot of information and the route she took allowed us to really know the city and to be confident in exploring on our own afterwards. We had a perfect day and it was warm and sunny so we got to see more icelandic culture with everyone outside

Eythor was the best tour guide. He provided years of history to the region and was extremely personable. He’s a national treasure.

This is a great option if you want a quick general overview of Reykjavík and only have a couple of hours to spare. Our guide (sorry, can’t spell the name!) was very local and very knowledgeable. Pacing was good and he answered any and all questions.

Good introduction to Reykjavik. Relaxed walking tour to some of the city highlights. Guide was knowledgeable about Icelandic culture and took care to engage all the individuals on the tour.

It was our guide’s first day on the job, and his newness showed. The meeting location was outside the famous Hallgrimskirkja church and after some basic information, he started to lead us into the church, but it was crowded and he said we would return in about 15 minutes—he never led us back but simply continued the tour to its other sights. He apologised for his lack of fluency in English, but it was not really a problem—he spoke well enough. The tour included the major sights in the center of the city over the course of two hours, downhill from the Hallgrimskirkja church and mostly easy flat sidewalks. While some of the information he provided was interesting, he was constantly distracted by questions from one or two participants and he politely kept responding to them, losing his focus. Eventually, I suppose he will learn how to handle participants who want to monopolize the guide’s attention.

Boarding was chaos.
The guide was unintelligible over his microphone, very garbled.
Nice drive around the countryside to view a crater and many farms.
Linda_F, May 2026
Great walking experience, provided a thoughtful background history of the culture and development of Iceland. Johanna our guide was engaging and provided deeper personal information regarding the people and genealogy of the area.
Gregg_H, May 2026
We got a great overview of the area. It is always interesting to get the inside scoop on a town. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and patient.
Mark_N, May 2026
You’ll learn a lot of history on I-land and its capital. Covers a lot of ground & very informative..
Mary_S, May 2026
This was a great experience of the historic centre of Reykjavik. Our guide Vil was very knowledgeable. The most fascinating part was that he was able to show us how he was descended from some of the original Vikings.
