Gemma was very nice and knowledgeable. She set a great pace for our group. Each stop had a lot of information and the route she took allowed us to really know the city and to be confident in exploring on our own afterwards. We had a perfect day and it was warm and sunny so we got to see more icelandic culture with everyone outside

Eythor was the best tour guide. He provided years of history to the region and was extremely personable. He’s a national treasure.

This is a great option if you want a quick general overview of Reykjavík and only have a couple of hours to spare. Our guide (sorry, can’t spell the name!) was very local and very knowledgeable. Pacing was good and he answered any and all questions.

A great way to get to know the Icelandic history and introduction to the city, country and culture.
Our tour guides were entertaining and knowledgeable. We appreciated their lighthearted banter (they were brothers), insight and recommendations.

We enjoyed the tour immensely and learned so much about Iceland and Reykjavik! I highly recommend this tour.

Good introduction to Reykjavik. Relaxed walking tour to some of the city highlights. Guide was knowledgeable about Icelandic culture and took care to engage all the individuals on the tour.

It was our guide’s first day on the job, and his newness showed. The meeting location was outside the famous Hallgrimskirkja church and after some basic information, he started to lead us into the church, but it was crowded and he said we would return in about 15 minutes—he never led us back but simply continued the tour to its other sights. He apologised for his lack of fluency in English, but it was not really a problem—he spoke well enough. The tour included the major sights in the center of the city over the course of two hours, downhill from the Hallgrimskirkja church and mostly easy flat sidewalks. While some of the information he provided was interesting, he was constantly distracted by questions from one or two participants and he politely kept responding to them, losing his focus. Eventually, I suppose he will learn how to handle participants who want to monopolize the guide’s attention.

Boarding was chaos.
The guide was unintelligible over his microphone, very garbled.
Nice drive around the countryside to view a crater and many farms.

Great walking experience, provided a thoughtful background history of the culture and development of Iceland. Johanna our guide was engaging and provided deeper personal information regarding the people and genealogy of the area.

This was a great experience of the historic centre of Reykjavik. Our guide Vil was very knowledgeable. The most fascinating part was that he was able to show us how he was descended from some of the original Vikings.

I gotta say. This tour was amazing. I almost missed it because I did not hear my alarm but thankfully and coincidentally the tour guide called me (which woke me up) to change the time for half an hour later (which worked even better lol).
The 2 hour walk along the city with the cold weather was super comfortable and we barely felt the walk at all. (So don't worry about it) Our guide Nory did an amazing job. He is so knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor which made the tour very insightful, interesting and very very fun. We learned a lot about Iceland, its history, the Reykjavik City, etc and even got a chance to run up to a few of the stores he recommended before our next tour (since we had the day fully booked). (We ate the traditional Lamp soup. Soo good)
It was great that we booked this tour the second day of our stay because the day we arrived to Iceland we had no idea where to go, how to get by or where anything was. So, this tour first thing in the morning was enough for us to learn where everything was and what we wanted to visit. So much so, that there were
places we needed to go for other tours and we were going to go by bus but decided to talk to the spots instead since we already got to know the area. I know for a fact that without this tour I would have never known where to go and would have missed so many fun and interesting places around the city.
Thank you soo much! We had fun. Definitely will recommend this tour.

Awesome tour! Our tour guide Nori (not sure on spelling?) was fantastic! Taught us so much about Iceland and Reykjavik and he was such a pleasure to be around. Would recommend!

Marteinn was brilliant - engaging and knowledgeable. A couple didn't manage to get there on time, but he did as much as he possibly could to ensure they could catch us up, which, unfortunately for them (because they missed a great tour experience), they didn't.
As a local, we learned a huge amount about Icelandic and Viking history from him, right up to the present day. He demonstrated a good sense of humour and shrewd level of awareness to encourage debate without getting too controversial. The group was small (8, but should have been 10) and that made it feel more personable. Not too strenuous physically and taken at an easy pace, with the occasional opportunity to shelter from a biting wind and he ran perfectly to time.
Marteinn was able to give guidance and recommendations on how to get the best from our holiday as well. He showed genuine interest in his guests and we felt valued as a result. A great experience. Thank you Marteinn.

Meeting the guide was easy. A nice steady introductory walk around Reykjavik, with the guide explaining the history and pointing out very interesting features that you might otherwise just walk past unknowingly.
Dana_C, Feb 2026
Wonderful overview of the city center. Appreciated that it included indoor stops as well to help warm up along the way.
