Great guide very informative
Loved the whole experience good introduction to Iceland
Guide and as great
We had a very nice variety of traditional Icelandic foods with our guide, Kristin. She would tell us some history of the food and Iceland as we tried each one. She told us about historical spots in the city, restaurants and traditions - celebrations, every day life, Christmas and others. She showed us illustrations of other traditional foods and the stories behind them as well. It was the foods, the stories and the extra information she included that will make this food tour memorable!
An amazing experience from start to finish. The tastings covered a broad range, from the fermented shark that I will never forget to the Icelandic hot dog that turned out to be my favorite thing all day. Every restaurant was expecting us and had things ready, and our guide Marie Hélène was warm and wonderfully informative throughout.
Stefan was an amazing tour guide! We learned so much about Icelandic culture (from the Icelandic Coast Guard to the Yule Lads to the “members” of the historic Olympic hand ball team) plus the food was phenomenal. Highly recommend this tour & guide!
Maria G. was a fabulous guide! She not only took us to many food places but also taught us so much about Iceland. Lots of fun and lots of food!
Maria G. Was fantastic. She was the perfect blend of managing our food tour while sharing the historical references, showing us beautiful art and providing a personal touch. We feel like we got the Iceland food experience we wanted while enjoying a city tour. We would highly recommend her and the Food tour.
The only reason I gave 2 stars, rather than 1 star, is because we liked the tour guide. But other than that, the time spent on our food tour was the most disappointing experience we had during our trip. I booked a private tour (spent lots of extra money) because my daughter and I are gluten free and I was told by the tour company that they would create a gluten free tour for us. Which did not happen!! At each place, we were offered gluten-free alternatives to the food that the rest of my family was eating. Which were very limited. I had lamb soup at two of the four stops. And at one of the stops, the famous hot dog stand, there were zero gluten free options!! Plus, the tour description said we would go to a super market and learn about the local foods and that we would end the tour with an Icelandic drink. Neither of these things happened!! And the tour was less than three hours, which was shorter than they described. This was a complete waste of time and money!! And I have been trying to get compensated for this, yet the tour company is unresponsive!!!

Go hungry might not seem like a lot of food but very filling . Great way to see some of the city too. We enjoyed the tour

What a tour! Einar was an outstanding guide, giving us the background on the food we ate, as well as the neighborhoods we traversed. We definitely tried food that we otherwise wouldn’t have, and that is what makes these tours special. Thank you Einar, and rock on!

Our private food tour was deeply disappointing. The guide’s English was poor, she made no effort to engage the children, and showed little knowledge or professionalism. Most concerning, she openly displayed and voiced extreme political propaganda, which was offensive and entirely inappropriate in a tour setting. This was not what we expected or paid for.
Our guide, Gardar, was knowledgeable, personable, and showed us a taste of local food, that we would not have otherwise sampled. Our favorites were the smoked lamb tartar and the crowberry jam! He also gave us useful tips on local culture and museums to visit the next day. We recommend Gardar as he customizes the discussions to his clients interests, and gives us a peak of local Icelandic living.
Our guide, Magness, shared the history of Iceland with us as we experience a sampling of traditional Icelandic food at each stop. Highly recommend this tour.
The tour was very manageable for our difficulty of walking. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the restaurants and foods. We will recommend this tour to other travelers.

Our guide “Gurdat” (Spelling may be wrong) arrived early and was very pleasant to talk with. He not only showed us several different delicious foods, but also gave us a wonderful lesson in Icelandic history on the way. He was patient and considerate with his time and even showed us a couple of different attractions uninvolved with the food tour. This was a wonderful addition to our trip!
A very nice food and walking tour. We enjoyed trying several of the local delicacies while learning about the city and the culture.
Fun time with Gandar!! Really enjoyed trying the different food and learning about each! The shark was definitely worth the try!!
Our guide was very personable and entertaining! He even sang us a song and shared a lot of local history. We had a taste of quintessential Icelandic food!

Booked a food tour for our first night in Reykjavik. Ester E. was our guide. We stopped several places and enjoyed some select local fare. Ester was kind and knowledgeable. It was more like being shown around by an old friend. We had a lovely time.
An amazing personal tour experience. In depth knowledge of Icelandic culture, history and cuisine. The city buildings and their evolution was fascinating.
