We had a great time with Bo as he walked us through Reykjavík sampling traditional foods and sharing historical and cultural stories about Reykjavik and Iceland. Bo made sure the various venues knew it was my wife’s birthday making the tour that much more special. We would definitely recommend the private tour with Bo.

Our private food tour was deeply disappointing. The guide’s English was poor, she made no effort to engage the children, and showed little knowledge or professionalism. Most concerning, she openly displayed and voiced extreme political propaganda, which was offensive and entirely inappropriate in a tour setting. This was not what we expected or paid for.

Our guide, Gardar, was knowledgeable, personable, and showed us a taste of local food, that we would not have otherwise sampled. Our favorites were the smoked lamb tartar and the crowberry jam! He also gave us useful tips on local culture and museums to visit the next day. We recommend Gardar as he customizes the discussions to his clients interests, and gives us a peak of local Icelandic living.

Our guide “Gurdat” (Spelling may be wrong) arrived early and was very pleasant to talk with. He not only showed us several different delicious foods, but also gave us a wonderful lesson in Icelandic history on the way. He was patient and considerate with his time and even showed us a couple of different attractions uninvolved with the food tour. This was a wonderful addition to our trip!

Booked a food tour for our first night in Reykjavik. Ester E. was our guide. We stopped several places and enjoyed some select local fare. Ester was kind and knowledgeable. It was more like being shown around by an old friend. We had a lovely time.

This was a great intro to Iceland. Olaf, our guide, was wonderful. She told us so much abount the country and the food that we would never have know otherwise. I highly recommend this quick 3 hour tour - and asking for Olaf!

Our guide was very nice and informative. We started with a cup of lamb broth in paper cups. Next was a .5cm piece of shark with a shot of alcohol and a small amount of fish stew on a paper plate in a tourist diner. On to a hot dog stand. The finale was a lamb tartar and a char canapé with a beer at a family style bar and grill (I would go back for a burger). All this for a measly $384 for two.
I asked our guide about brut, a restaurant we passed. He said it was too pricey for him. If we had the priciest meal with wine it would have been much less than the crap we had. No puffin or whale for those expecting exotics at that price.
Complete rip off from out point of view. All 3 places were plainly visible in the tourist area and we had been to 2 on out own. Total cost of food on our own would have been 70 or 80 dollars not 384. Out guide was quite nice but not worth an extra 300 usd.
