I suppose there is luck involved in the timing of whether and how many whales you see. The weather, where the whales are, and all kinds of aspects need to fall in place to see whales in a single 3-hour period . That said, we saw a LOT of whales! The guides struck the right mix of chit chat and education and quiet to let everyone enjoy the boat ride. There is coffee and snacks on board. The boat ride feels 15 degrees (F) colder than the temp on land. So, bundle up and book this tour! You won’t regret it.

It was colder on the water, so bring layers! The guides didn’t share much info, so definitely ask questions if you have them. She happily answered, but maybe they just weren’t in the script.

The weather worked out for this trip but the ocean was extremely rough. Many people were sick and made for a less than pleasant journey. They did find a couple of whales which was nice but I would probably skip this one just because I didn’t handle the waves all that well. They did provide complimentary Dramamine.

Excellent experience, we saw a humpback and minky whales. The boat was great and comfortable, we were lucky that it was not crowded - other boats were huge and so many people on board so our experience was much nicer.

The tour guide did a good job. I think it would have been more enjoyable on a sunny day, which is difficult to expect in Iceland. We were tired after a long week of activities, which is why we selected this tour. The other tours provided more bang for the buck.

We saw a minke whale, porpoise, and humpback!
I would say the only negative part is that there was not enough seating for all the people on the boat.

An amazing experience in the action. We saw multiple humpback whales, dolphins & minkie whales. The yacht was comfortable & helped create memories that will last a lifetime!

Wow. We got lucky with 8-9 humpbacks right up close. A nice boat with a friendly crew. Plenty of space and option to warm up indoors after the rain!

The yacht is a lovely boat. Has everything you’d need and didn’t feel overcrowded. Unfortunately we had a day of high winds and rough seas and didn’t get to see much. Saw some dolphins and puffins but no whales. Many got sick due to the seas too. True to their word, they offered another excursion covered since we didn’t see whales. Overall solid experience.

Wear warm waterproof clothing just in case and have your camera/phone ready at all times in case you get lucky and have multiple whale sightings like we did.

Whale watching is a very hit and miss experience. Well, our yacht cruise was definitely a hit! We were fortunate to have beautiful sunny weather with great visibility. There were several whales near our ship, breaching, rolling, waving their fins, practically performing for us. What an amazing experience!

Got to see a couple different types of whales and some porpoises. The boat was a nice size and had room inside to stay warm.

Amazing experience! The yacht was super comfortable with lots of good viewing spots. We saw 5 humpback whales! The crew were awesome and they gave detailed descriptions of the wildlife. Would highly recommend and would do again when we return.

The experience was ok. The boat was very nice and the operators tried really hard to help us see any whales that we could possibly see given the weather conditions. I personally felt the experience was pricey for what you actually get which is basically a couple hours on a yacht. The concessions were so overpriced - I paid somewhere around $3 USD for a cup of hot water and a tea bag, over $5 for a candy bar. I regret doing this and wish I had spent my last day in Iceland doing something I would have enjoyed more.

we have booked a yacht - in advance - becouse wife has sea sickness…. and there was no yacht !!! we where put into Amelia big slow boat …. my wife suffered a lot …. Amelia team made a great job - everything to satisfy clients , telling stories about whales - perfect ❤️ But you as Viiator - you are cheating- people are booking yacht and you are sending to a simple boat … explanation that you got a broken window - just lie … as even for may 4 and 5 you still offer a yacht - that is not coming …. i will check with the loyer what action to be taken … shame to behave like this …

I booked this excursion on the day four the day I arrived in Iceland. The staff and the crew on the yacht were both fantastic! The yacht itself was very comfortable. They had drinks and snacks for purchase. The guide was very informative! We were fortunate enough to see Minky and humpback whales!! We also saw porpoise and a few puffins!! the cruise was very comfortable to the harbor. We witness many sites that you can’t see from the mainland! Also, we received a 15% discount at the local restaurant for meals and drinks! It was a great way to start my Iceland venture! I would absolutely recommend this excursion, it was well worth the price!!

Great tour! We had a wonderful selection of sighting which was rare for the time of our booking. Our guide was great with interesting facts, as well as a good eye for sightings. Also, the on board hot chocolate was amazing and cheap!

Very informative guide on our tour. Personally I don’t think these tours are worth doing in the winter as very limited in what you see; plus a high chance of it being cancelled and moved to another day (as what happened to us) because of high winds. I’ve done this sane tour in the summer and it was excellent, lots of sightings. Didn’t see anything this time around

Amazing trip in which we were lucky enough to see 2 whales and some seals! Check in was easy and boarding was nice. I recommend getting there early to get a seat on the main or upper level inside, especially in the winter.

What a fantastic afternoon - saw humpback whales, dolphins and porpoise. Not to forget the gannets either - fabulous! Beautiful blue skys in the freezing cold. Lucky is a fantastic host. Would highly recommend!
