I booked this excursion on the day four the day I arrived in Iceland. The staff and the crew on the yacht were both fantastic! The yacht itself was very comfortable. They had drinks and snacks for purchase. The guide was very informative! We were fortunate enough to see Minky and humpback whales!! We also saw porpoise and a few puffins!! the cruise was very comfortable to the harbor. We witness many sites that you can’t see from the mainland! Also, we received a 15% discount at the local restaurant for meals and drinks! It was a great way to start my Iceland venture! I would absolutely recommend this excursion, it was well worth the price!!

The tour was a perfect amount of time. We were lucky and able to see several whales and dolphins. We highly recommend this experience.

Excellent background on many aspects of Iceland, good walking pace; I learned a lot and saw a wide variety of places in the historic downtown areas.

Whale watching is a very hit and miss experience. Well, our yacht cruise was definitely a hit! We were fortunate to have beautiful sunny weather with great visibility. There were several whales near our ship, breaching, rolling, waving their fins, practically performing for us. What an amazing experience!

Great trip! Our guide was great and very knowledgeable. We saw lots of whales, learned how to spot them.

Got to see a couple different types of whales and some porpoises. The boat was a nice size and had room inside to stay warm.

Amazing experience! The yacht was super comfortable with lots of good viewing spots. We saw 5 humpback whales! The crew were awesome and they gave detailed descriptions of the wildlife. Would highly recommend and would do again when we return.

Isabel was very knowledgeable and friendly. She spoke about the whales we saw and had a lot of knowledge about them.

The experience was ok. The boat was very nice and the operators tried really hard to help us see any whales that we could possibly see given the weather conditions. I personally felt the experience was pricey for what you actually get which is basically a couple hours on a yacht. The concessions were so overpriced - I paid somewhere around $3 USD for a cup of hot water and a tea bag, over $5 for a candy bar. I regret doing this and wish I had spent my last day in Iceland doing something I would have enjoyed more.

we have booked a yacht - in advance - becouse wife has sea sickness…. and there was no yacht !!! we where put into Amelia big slow boat …. my wife suffered a lot …. Amelia team made a great job - everything to satisfy clients , telling stories about whales - perfect ❤️ But you as Viiator - you are cheating- people are booking yacht and you are sending to a simple boat … explanation that you got a broken window - just lie … as even for may 4 and 5 you still offer a yacht - that is not coming …. i will check with the loyer what action to be taken … shame to behave like this …

Unfortunately the tour cancelled due to weather. It was one of our most anticipated excursions, that we didn’t get the chance to take. 😢

Great tour! We had a wonderful selection of sighting which was rare for the time of our booking. Our guide was great with interesting facts, as well as a good eye for sightings. Also, the on board hot chocolate was amazing and cheap!

We were very lucky to have seen the amount of whales, dolphins and porpoises. The sea journey was calm

Wrap up warm. Where shoes with good grips. Arrive in good time. Check the website before setting off, in case of cancellations.

Very informative guide on our tour. Personally I don’t think these tours are worth doing in the winter as very limited in what you see; plus a high chance of it being cancelled and moved to another day (as what happened to us) because of high winds. I’ve done this sane tour in the summer and it was excellent, lots of sightings. Didn’t see anything this time around

You are not guaranteed to see whales!
We had a wonderful experience on the Amelia Rose and the crew were fantastic, sadly the weather was turning and we did not see any whales.

Knowledgeable tour guide. Spotted 2 humpback whales multiple times and seals. Comfortable boat with indoor space to warm up...it's super cold on deck!
Jason_K, Feb 2026
This was an excellent experience, weather was perfect calm seas very cold. Maybe an hour in we spotted two humpback whales and had them for the duration of the tour.
Kris_S, Feb 2026
Very responsive to all my questions before the trip. The boat was very nice and the staff was excellent. They worked hard to ensure we saw the whales and dolphins.
Amy_G, Feb 2026
Amazing trip in which we were lucky enough to see 2 whales and some seals! Check in was easy and boarding was nice. I recommend getting there early to get a seat on the main or upper level inside, especially in the winter.
Clare_B, Feb 2026
What a fantastic afternoon - saw humpback whales, dolphins and porpoise. Not to forget the gannets either - fabulous! Beautiful blue skys in the freezing cold. Lucky is a fantastic host. Would highly recommend!
Tara_Z, Feb 2026
We had an amazing time. Crew was super nice and informative. We saw whales, sea lions and seals. Really amazing. We travelled in February - it was cold, very cold - dress appropriately!
kzwshz9gb7, Feb 2026
Did not expect much in January but were so excited Humpback jump totally out of the water near our tour boat. There were 2 other boats out searching as there were numerous reports about whale sightings in previous days.
Kayla_M, Feb 2026
We saw two humpback whales swimming together. The kept giving up little waves with their tails. At one point they even swam underneath our boat. It was so beautiful to watch them as the sun shone on the water. I would come back to Iceland just for this experience again.
Adam_W, Jan 2026
The boat was great, lots of places to watch for whales and places to sit! Clean and comfortable..
Crew was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable!!
Great trip

We had a wonderful whale watching experience! We saw whales, seals and had the best time. It included two young children 10 and 8!
MrsNicola_K, Jan 2026
A bucket list ticked. Great staff that helped with any questions. Loved the boat, that could stay warm and dry with a cheeky triple or hang out watching for whales. Got what we came for and left very happy. Loved it
Soraiya_A, Jan 2026
We did all our boat trips with this company and really enjoyed them all. Informative and staff were excellent.
Deborah_G, Dec 2025
Whales are NOT seen, was told that the trip also didn’t see whales the previous day and that they thought the whales would have moved on and no other trip organiser had seen any the previous day so why not move to a different area or cancel and refund people but NO they go to the same area previously visited the day before when there were no sightings instead of trying a new area to hopefully catch a sighting. Instead they give the option of rebooking for free and told I could rebook for the following morning as boat was NOT fully booked….my only chance to rebook before leaving the country only to be told no I could not book for the following morning as it was too quick to organise it and I can rebook for the following three days egich of course I would no longer be in the country… convenient eh?
Don’t waster your money on this so called trip. All other vessels use sonar to locate but not this one as it is too expensive they say so they just fingers crossed hope someone on the boat might spot something, absolutely rubbish.
Sharon_F, Dec 2025
Absolutely fantastic. Saw a double breach and a single breach. The whales were cleaning and we saw a huge amount of activity. Best time ever. Nothing as beautiful as the natural world we live in.
