Nuno has vast knowledge of Porto now and then, and also of port wine making and tasting. He took us on a 3 km walk, starting high up where the city was founded (North of the river Duoro), and ended up in a port wine tasting cellar in Gaia (southbank). All along telling stories about the city in a vivid way, involving us walking with him.
Finally, he gave us, by request, several recommendations on good traditional Portuguese restaurants.
This tour is an absolute must for everyone visiting Porto!

I loved learning all of the history! The tour guide was very animated and very informed. He was super great and patient with everyone. He answered all questions enthusiastically and was detail oriented.
Only thing I’d say is that you are not tasting wines throughout, only at the end.

Nuno was an excellent guide, so knowledgeable about the history of Porto, and he shared some great stories which made the streets and buildings come alive.
He also knew everything about the port cellar where we tasted the different ports and coached us how the flavours were in each.

Our guide was engaging and knowledgeable, about both the city (we toured the decorative murals at the central train station) and port wine. The tour ends along the river where the there are a number of places to eat. You should be aware this tour requires a fair amount of walking, and expect to taste a variety of port, which may be sweet for some peoples taste. Guide had a number of helpful suggestions for further sights in Porto

The guide never showed up, and the company would not refund my tour fee. I had checked by email the morning of the tour about the exact meet-up spot.

Hello,
as we were able to prove to Viator/Tripadvisor, the guide showed up and the tour was hosted with other participants as it was supposed. If we were not able to prove it, Viator could refund you, they didn't for a reason. We've a tour manifest from that day, reviews from those participants, messages that we sent to you confirming the meeting point and contacting you because you didn't showed up informing the tour needed to start and about the next spot that you could meet the guide.
Our cancelation policy says we don't refund the tour payment in the 24 hours prior the tour, or to no shows, and we follow it strictly.

The walk through the historic part of Porto and the fishermans village were very imformative. The guide, David, was really knowledgable about the history of Porto and its inhabitants. He also explained the struggles of power really well between the church and the king. He also was very knowledgeable about the differences between port wine and its distict characteristics.

Too much talking at stops … 5-10 minutes too long each stop, repeating stories. Need to learn to summarize and read the crowd. Pace is important especially if you have not gotten to the big highlights yet. Adjust name of tour of port tasting is only 25% of the time.

we understand you might have not enjoyed the experience but besides the tour is advertised as a City walking tour with visit to wine producers at the description it describes entirely what we're going to do. We specifically warn that this is a historical tour with a visit to a cellar and tasting at the end, not a mainly drinking tour.
We could have summarized and adapted the tour if you were the only ones, but there were other 7 participants that wanted the tour they booked, and everyone made amazing reviews in other platform from June 26th:

We fully enjoyed David's walking tour of Porto -- he was so knowledgeable and had a warm and engaging manner. The places we went were where you want to go upon arriving in Porto, and then we got to learn about port wine and taste it at the end of the tour. The tour size was small, which was perfect. We loved that he and his wife were starting their own company and we wish them the very best. We could ask any questions. And...we went downhill. Had to take an Uber back uphill, but only because i had an injury. Do this. You will be so glad you did.

An amazing experience from start to finish. There was only four of us on the tour and it was so personal. Yes you can do free walking or cheaper tours but this included four port tastings and was worth every penny.
I felt like I walking around with friends at the end. Such an enjoyable day to spend our first day in Porto having only arrived a few hours before. Our guide David was exceptional!
