Had a great time. Lars was very knowledgeable and happy to impart great tidbits of the area wines. He even stopped when we spotted the wild zebras and let us take pictures!!
Congratulations to Lars and his wife on soon to be parents!!

We recently did a Hearst Castle and Wine tour with Lars from Toast Tours. From the moment the tour started, we were having a blast. Lars is extremely knowledgeable about the local geography, geology and oenology. He had wonderful recommendations for lunch after Hearst Castle. For the wine portion of the tour, Lars took us to three of his favorite vineyards. Each vineyard and winery gave us a unique and diverse experience of the local offerings. Each winery highlighted unique wines and practices that were representative of Paso Robles' distinct wine-growing micro climates. I could tell that Lars had diligently thought out which series of wineries and in what order, would best showcase the special elements of Central Coast wine. I would take this tour again and I recommend you do if you're a lover of history and superb wines.

What a wonderful trip to Hearst Castle and the wineries in the Paso Robles region. Our driver and guide Lars, of Toast Tours, was so friendly and very knowledgeable. Hearst Castle was amazing, especially the ostentatious swimming pools. The guide at Hearst Castle knew her stuff and we were able to wander around on our own outside after the official tour had finished. After having a pleasant lunch in nearby Cambria, we progressed to the wineries. We visited two, and got a ride round the vineyards at one. Everyone at the wineries was very friendly and we learned so much about the wines produced in the region. We finished at Tin City in Paso Robles - a collection of buildings and barns, each one offering food and drink. We sampled local ciders and it was the end to a very good day. Hats off to Lars who was an amazing guide - he even managed to pull off the road near Hearst Castle where we were able to witness, albeit it from a distance, zebras (descendants of those from the long defunct Hearst Zoo) grazing with cattle on the grassland next to the highway. Thank you Lars and Toast Tours!
