Antelope Canyon and our tour guide Wallace delivered an excellent experience that we will never forget!
David_C, Mar 2026
This was a great personalized experience. Alex, our tour guide was friendly and great. She gave a lot of information about the canyon itself and its history. Had great tips for photos. The canyon itself was beautiful. There are some narrow passages, stairs, and a decent amount of ladder climbing. Would not be great if you have mobility problems. Having said that, our non-verbal son with autism was able to navigate it with ease.

Great tour, Felicia was very kind and knowledgeable. I have never been to the other canyon tours but the Deer Canyon was beautiful and had plenty of pic opportunities.

This was incredible. It is definitely not for anyone with a fear of heights! We went on the last tour of the day through Deer Canyon & it was spectacular. Our guide John was a wealth of knowledge of Tre Navajo tribes, the George of the formations & history of the area.
I highly recommend this.

This little hike felt like real adventure. My mom who is 77 thought it was great and piece of cake walk through the canyon with lots of beautiful scenery. My 4 year old son..ooohhh did he enjoy climbing all those ladders. Our gide Mike was awesome with lots of great knowledge of the area and history to tell! Would definitely do it again and highly recommend to others!

I am a fit 67 year old but have bad balance and yet this was a perfect fit for me - nothing too extreme but make sure you have stamina enough to go by up lots of ladders. Beautiful setting and views. Ask to go with tour guide named John - I am very curious and pummeled him with questions. He had SO much interesting info about the environment, the Navajo culture, the geological history, the plants, the animals, the history, everything. Not a question posed that he didn’t answer and go beyond with great info. Impressed was I!

Must do this! It was perfect all around. The guides were great and the canyon was breathtaking. We highly suggest it- definitely worth the trip!

Everything worked well
I recommend Viator as a platform

This was an experience and a half!! Loved the off roading and the brief history given by Monica, our Navajo tour guide!! Best of all, the climb down the canyon and the climb up through tiny nooks and amazing red rock dens!!
Bring water for after the climb!!!

It's really amazing. From outside, you couldn't tell there is a narrow trail there. But when I went downstairs, it was incredibly pretty. Our guide, John, is super friendly. He is willing to help us take photos. And he cared about our safety.

20 minutes van/truck ride to the canyon. Then decent down via metal steps with handrail. The, climb up the canyon. Beautiful experience. I'm unable to attach any picture, sorry. Got amazing pictures.
Gregory_C, Dec 2025
Monica was excellent, she gave us lots of explanations about the place history and let us take many pictures without rushing us.
This tour takes small groups of 8-10 peoples to a real exploration of the caves.
Unlike other antelopes tours which are flats, this deer canyon tour has lots of ladders to climb up/down, kids will love it, but be aware that elderly or people with vertigo may not enjoy the experience.
The colors of the rock look comparable to other Antelope caves, the real value being the extra climbing and the guide patience.

The canyon itself was really amazing and the trip guide Alex was really nice and patient with my questions! The reason for my 3 star is guide Wall-E/something on those lines. He was rude and insulting for no reason. I had a bad trip with him.

It was quite a drive getting to Deer Canyon via the tour guided van. If you get motion sickness inside a car, beware, its pretty bumpy and takes about 30 min altogether going to and driving back to the station.
entire hike/climb was about 30 minutes if you stop to rest and take lots of pictures and that was with a group of 8 people.
Also, dont do this excursion if you are afraid of heights and or heavy/large person because you will be squeezing through narrow tight spaces. Tour guide wasn't what I expected for a tour guide.
I would have liked to hear history about the place and significance of certain canyon features. He didn't talk much unless asked.
I dont know that the experience is worth the price paid per person but its definitely worth doing once and braving the tall metal stair ladders.
The owner operators of this tour had many customers who got lost coming to find the meet up place if they booked through Trip Advisor / Viator. Make sure to call ahead if you're a first timer. The map link provided to your email is inaccurate. Use the address on the Deer Canyon Tour website.

Wonderful tour.
Not rushed at all through the stunningly beautiful canyon.
Even given some valuable photography tips.
Learnt about the Navajo culture as well.
From start to finish we had over 2 hours.
A little bit strenuous but not too difficult.

Our experience was excellent! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and patient with our group. I was traveling with my 83 yr old grandmother and 63 yr old mom who needed a couple extra breaks and they were more than accommodating to do so! This was one of the highlights of our 6 day trip through AZ and UT. Definitely something you don't want to miss!

Well worth the drive, we decided last minute (ok the night before) that we were going to make the trek to check out Deer Canyon. Short hike down some staircases in to the breathtaking canyons. John was an amazing tour guide, friendly, down to earth, knowledgeable and relatable. The only thing I suggest adding to the booking or welcome email is that they don’t observe daylight savings time, add what time zone they are currently working in as it didn’t match what our phones said.
Thankfully we were an hour early not an hour late 😮💨
We will definitely be back

This was an incredible tour! Completely worth it! Such great people and amazing scenery. Having a small group made it even better.
Ripley_T, Oct 2025
The tour guide is excellent, giving us time to take photos and making sure the group is safe. The tour is phenomenal!!!!

Get ready for a fun desert adventure in a minivan all the way to the canyon descent. One hundred steep steps down, then a few more, and you’ll find yourself in a wonderful world of colors, light, and whimsical narrow corridors in the canyon, sometimes so tight you can barely squeeze through. You’ll have to climb ladders, which is not easy, so at least some level of physical fitness is required. If you’re fine with climbing back up from the canyon floor by ladder, not by steps, and you’re not afraid of tight spaces, you’ll love it! You’ll take beautiful photos and see a completely different, fantastic world! Highly recommended.
Please note that the meeting point with the guide is in the Pacific time zone. We didn’t know and arrived almost 1.5 hours early because we checked the current time in Page. Many thanks to our guide Wally — it was wonderful!

This specific activity was as good as it gets. Great experience all around. Your guide was so informative and enjoyable.

What a fantastic experience! What initially drew me to this company were some previous reviews of small groups and the lack of crowds, exactly what I was looking for…to not be herded like cattle through the canyon. Did they deliver on this perk? Absolutely!
When I first arrived, I was warmly greeted and able to meet the rest of the group, a great couple traveling through the area. That’s it, just the three of us and our wonderful guide, Julia!
Julia was extremely impressive, knowledgeable, and full of fun. As we drove out to our starting point, she filled us in on the local geography, history, and culture. Upon reaching our trail start point, Julia went over basic safety points, what to look for, and our itinerary. We then entered the canyon area with no one else in sight; we had the entire canyon to ourselves! Julia expertly guided us throughout the slot canyon and allowed us to take our time and as many photos as we wanted. She even showed us a few pointers on our cameras to get a better picture.
For the hike itself, absolutely beautiful and not difficult at all. A very enjoyable experience and I’m glad I went with this incredible company. Well done!

Best experience! The overall trail isn’t too long, and it’s easy to do. Our tour guide, John, was very helpful and accommodating.

Hands down best canyon tour we did. Victoria our guide was so nice and knowledgeable! We had a blast on this hike. Definitely recommend this tour!
Margaret_L, Apr 2025
Amazing experience! We really enjoyed it m. I went with two kids and my husband and everyone had a blast time. Recommended 100%
Kathy_G, Apr 2025
We really enjoyed the trip, the scenery was beautiful.
We do feel that guests should be given a little more info about the tour. Including facts about the size of slots and how many ladders needed to be climbed during the tour.
Amy_L, Apr 2025
Great tour with no crowds. We had the canyon all to ourselves. It was a great experience! Maybe be challenging for those that don’t like tight spaces.
Christina_C, Apr 2025
A hidden gem in Antelope Canyon. Our guide was very sweet! The office is unorganized so allot xtra time on the backside. I would recommend to check it out if you want less crowded from the Upper/Lower Antelope
Anna_K, Apr 2025
Great experience! I am 28 yrs old (work from home and not as active as I wish to be) and the hike was great. I was worried it might be too hard as I am not a hiker - the 2 hrs had me concerned but didn’t realize the drive takes up some of it. They drive you up to the Canyon - which takes around 20 minutes each way. So you are only walking through the canyon for around 1hr and 20 minutes which is perfect. There are some steep stairs and a few areas where it is a bit tight - if you are strongly claustrophobic it might not be for you. I was perfectly fine getting through with my backpack on. Our tour guide was great and shared information about the history, land, the Diné (Navajo) tribe and some of the native plants. I highly recommend it! The views were spectacular and this was one of our favorite activities from our AZ trip.
Krys_G, Apr 2025
Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and kind. Took the time to teach us about plants and the landscape, also gave us plenty of time for photos. Once in a lifetime experience, it was so quiet and beautiful, grateful for yall!
