Ko was an amazing host with an impressive knowledge of Japanese tea and mixology. If you have an interest in tea, Ko will elevate your knowledge to the next level. You can tell he is an extremely passionate person when it comes to tea and this is only bolstered by his friendly personality.
During our time with Ko, we learned a lot about the history of tea as well as how to properly brew a variety of Japanese teas. This was then taken to the next level as Ko walked us through making both alcoholic and non-alcoholic mixed drinks with tea. Everything tastes amazing and we were able to take notes so that we could recreate these drinks at home.
I highly recommend the experience and would definitely go again in order to learn more about the intricacies of tea and how to utilize them in your home bar.

What an amazing experience it was! Ko knows so much about tea and was amazing while explaining it to us! We were lucky that it was almost a private class for us as it was just me and my wife for the class! I can’t recommend this enough! All five kinds of tea, were amazing and I might try order the green tea from him back home! The cherry in the cake was the tea cocktails and my favorite matcha latte recipe he shared with us! Oh it’s going to be so hard to like and find this good a tea now!!!

Such a wonderful experience with Ko. This combined both the traditional tea making experience, as well as a history and culinary lesson. Not to mention mixology! Plus, it’s hands on! You may find yourself searching for loose leaf tea and tea making sets.

Fabulous afternoon learning and tasting Japanese tea. The correct way to hold a teapot.
Then making cocktails out of tea was so much fun and delicious 😋

It was very interesting and fun: First, Ko explained a lot about the history of tea, then we got hands on experience, showing also some intricate details of tea making (not only timing etc., but also how to hold a tea pot correctly, and why) in a kind way. In the end, we got some really neat tea cocktail including recipe!

It is difficult to explain how amazing this experience was. Ko was an incredible teacher and very kind. His passion was infectious and heartwarming. My partner and I were enthralled as he led us through the process of properly making tea and his philosophy around the ceremony. If you are a fan of real tea, or have an interest in community building, this is the place for you. My partner and I were up all night thinking about it. One thing in particular he said stuck out to me, "The act of drinking tea is a beautiful rebellion." Simply the act of sitting down and preparing a lovely cup of tea for yourself and allowing yourself to relax and slow down flies in the face of the fast paced lifestyle everyone wants you to participate in. What a lovely sentiment from an amazing experience.

If you're ever around Tokyo, this is a MUST. Ko was absolutely incredible!! He spoke great English and was super fun to hang out with. We didn't know that much about tea before going, but it was very interesting and we learned a lot! It's an intimate experience with just your group and Ko, so we were able to ask a lot of questions. It's very hands on and you get to try so many types of tea. We also were able to take some samples home as well!
We ended up staying for over 3 hours just chatting with him. Ko was so welcoming and accommodating (one of our group members wasn't feeling well because of the jetlag and was able to lie down upstairs for a bit). He also gave us great recommendations for other areas and shops to explore. There's a town that's about a 10 min walk away from People's Tea that we went to eat dinner at after. It was such a great experience that we're planning on staying in touch with Ko.
I also never usually write reviews, so that just goes to show how great this was!

This experience with Ko was a huge highlight on our Japan trip. Ko knew so much about Japanese tea and shared his knowledge with us in a really nice relaxed and natural way. It didn’t feel like a course - more like a friend showing and sharing his passion for Japanese tea - the traditional way and new unexpected ways to create delicious drinks using tea. Had so much fun. Five stars! Highly recommended to anyone visiting Japan!

This tea blending workshop was the highlight of our trip to Tokyo. Ko is an amazing teacher and equally great person who is passionate about his craft. His knowledge and diligence in sourcing high quality teas was apparent from the taste, technique, and one-of-a-kind blends. He makes unique and delicious versions of classic teas and tea cocktails, including my new all time favorite drink, the mango matcha macchiato. I wish we had discovered People’s Tea before our last day, as I would like to have tried nearly everything on the menu. We even stayed after to spend more time talking with Ko and try additional drinks, as the menu is truly too good to resist. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tokyo and think your experience would be incomplete without visiting People’s Tea.

My experience was amazing, definitely one of the highlights of my trip.
The store is located away from the touristy areas and the hustle of the city so the calmer, foreign vibes you get walking through the streets from the train station to the store (just a few mins away) first stood out to me.
The store itself was really calm and cozy, with lots of antique items on display. I really liked that it was a real tea house and not like a classroom or something so the experience definitely felt abit more authentic and raw and less commercialised.
Ko was very friendly, speaks perfect English and he knows everything about the 4-5 teas you're going to brew. He learnt how to best brew them from the farmers themselves and everything tasted amazing. I had the best hojicha I have ever tasted there, they can never be compared to those bottled ones in the vending machines or convenience stores.
The workshop is also more hands-on and less watching, which I really really enjoyed, it is not too difficult and Ko will definitely help you out if you get confused. I also enjoyed how casual and chill it was, you can chat about anything with Ko as your tea brews and just enjoy the moment. Just note that you should set aside at least 1.5 hours for this activity imo.
Overall, everything was perfect, you will get some tea leaves to take home after to brew yourself. I felt so refreshed afterwards and will definitely be back soon. Literally recommended to everyone in my family right after I was done, it was that fun.

What a great find! I wanted to learn more about tea in Japan and to have a more authentic experience than the standard tourist fare - this surpassed my expectations! Ko is super knowledgeable, a great teacher and mixologist. The People’s Tea space is intimate, thoughtfully curated, and very cute. I got to try a range of teas plus a delicious tea drink and cocktail. I highly recommend this experience!

This was the best experience that I had in Tokyo. Ko was extremely knowledgeable and personable and I learned so much about different types of teas, brewing and blending techniques. Everything I had was absolutely fabulous - from the teas, to the matcha mango latte + foam, to the cocktail. I loved the experience so much that I ordered another cocktail and hung out with Ko at the bar for an extra hour. This is a must do experience in Tokyo.

I learned so much and have grown such a deeper appreciation for tea after this class. Ko was filled with so much knowledge, the tea was sooo good and I overall had the best time ever!

I enjoyed learning about and brewing tea with Ko. This experience has made me confident to brew my own tea at home. The cocktails I made were especially tasty. I highly recommend this experience.
