Osaka, known as “Japan’s Kitchen,” is famous for its street food and regional dishes. Sample many of these local specialties in one evening on this authentic food tour in the often overlooked area of Shinsekai. You’ll get to try 15 dishes at 5 different establishments, with three drinks included. Weave through arcades and side alleys filled with locals as you visit these different restaurants.

If we could give 10 stars we would. The food tour was fabulous. We were looked after extremely well and got to taste the amazing food of Osaka. We would never have found these places on our own and Davin has a deep knowledge and passion for Osaka. He went the extra mile and offered helpful tips to help us enjoy our time in Japan. Small group tour, all English-speaking which made it really easy to connect with the other participants.

Had a great time with our guide Matt. Tried lots of different locations for food and we are very full. He took us to many great local spots for incredible food we would have not found alone. It is fabulous way to explore the Osaka food scene. Not too much walking between stops. Each stop was great. I took notes so I could come back on my own. Tour guide Jake was energetic, easy going, and knowledgeable. Not normally a guy that books food tours but this was far better than anticipated.

An absolute blast. Our guide Anna (who was more of a host) than just a guide, led us around the local streets with some magical story telling, great humour and utmost care for all 9 of us, regularly ensuring we were okay. The variety of dishes we sampled was ample and delicious, and we also sampled a variety of drinks! Definitely a necessity on what was a very warm evening. My wife and I had an amazing time on our food tour of Shinsekai! Our guide was Anna and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. She creates such a friendly atmosphere and is so knowledgeable. At the start of the tour we were meeting a bunch of strangers from all over the globe and by the end of the night we felt we just spent the night with close friends. All the food was was very, very, fresh and delicious and Anna had great recommendations and taught us all the way of the Shinsekai. We tried many things that we wouldn’t have otherwise have tried and learned of so much delicious food. This tour is well worth the money and we highly recommend the to anyone visiting Osaka!

I went here with my family of four and our tour guide was Dylan. He was very accommodating and very passionate with telling us all sorts of facts about Osaka which we would have never known otherwise. He made the tour very fun whilst also being informative, Dylan took us to some great food places. Definitely would do again and recommend to others visiting Osaka.

This was an excellent tour on what was just our second day in Japan. Our guide was Adam who was friendly, engaging and informative throughout and fulfilled his promise that we would not be hungry at the end of the evening! We went to five separate locations with a range of foods at each (the chicken was superb) although we never felt rushed or uninformed. There is only a small amount of walking so this is suitable for almost everyone.

Our guide, Davin, showed us a wonderful evening - touring the streets of Shinsekai, telling us the history of the location and about Japanese culture in general, and taking us to several local restaurants where we tasted a variety of local specialties and traditional foods, as well as an assortment of drinks. We especially enjoyed that Davin went beyond the normal tour guide experience by sharing a lot of his personal experiences in Japan. It was an enthralling experience and we were definitely full by the end of the evening. Definitely recommended!

All of the places that we ate at we close proximity to one another. So not much walking involved at all. A variety of food tastings were offered. The variety of food tastings were a wonderful experience and good introduction into Osaka culinary delights. But most importantly our guide Tim was excellent. He was knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. He truly showed us his love for Osaka food.

Highly recommend the Hungry Osaka food tour. Our guide Matt was fantastic. He selected five different restaurants, offering a variety of food and drinks. With his quick wit and long-term experience living in Osaka, he was able to answer all of our questions and our two families with several sub-10 year old children had a great time.

Matt was an excellent guide not only regarding the history of each food type, but also the history of old Osaka, customs, and how different Osaka is from Tokyo and Kyoto. In addition, his humor was a big part of the reason our group really jelled.
