Great experience
We had an incredible 4-hour tour of Osaka with Rie! She reached out two days in advance to tailor the itinerary exactly to our interests. She provided fascinating history at Osaka Castle. On top of that, she took some amazing photos for us. Highly recommend her for a personalized and memorable experience!

Osaka Tour
My brother and I had the most incredible tour with our guide Sachiko yesterday. We learned the history of Osaka castle, saw Shitennouji temple, Sumiyoshi Taisha shrine, and Shinsekai. It was so nice being able to easily navigate the public transportation with the help of our guide. She also took the most incredible pictures and air dropped them at the end of the day. She made sure to point out several restroom stops along the way and offered to let us stop for food or drinks. We had the most incredible day and learned so much about Japanese history and culture.

1 day visit to Osaka June 2026 - visitors from NC USA
Mayu did a great job for our 2 hour tour. She met up with us at our hotel at 1 pm, and we visited and took photos at Namba Yasaka Shrine, Kuromon Market (a covered indoor/outdoor market with a wonderful collection of small businesses that specialize in sushi, sea food, tokoyaki, Wagyu Beef, Mochi, sweets, and many others), photos at energetic Dotonburi and the 2 bridges, photos near the Glico man sign, photos outside Don Quijote, Hozenji temple, and photos at quiet Hozenji Yokocho Alley. Mayu completed the tour by walking us back to our hotel. After the fantastic tour with Mayu we went to quiet Hozenji Yokocho Alley at 5 pm and ate incredible Wagyu at Kitashinchi Harami Hozenji. The restaurant was fully booked the entire evening, but they kindly offered us a table if we could finish our meal before 6:50. It was the best Wagyu meal ever! We went to Dotobori, and purchased a roller suitcase at Don Quijote (needed for the souvenirs for the trip home). We rolled our newly purchased roller suitcase all over Dotonbori and experienced the neon lights and high energy at Dotonbori topped by soft served Cremia Ice cream at Excelsior Cafe (possibly the best ice cream we have ever tasted). Mayu gave a fun and highly informative tour and many useful tips that we were able to use immediately during our 1 day visit to Osaka. We highly recommend Mayu as a tour guide and highly recommend a visit to Osaka - the “food capital of Japan.”

Fun walking food tour
Loved trying the different foods and learning about the types of restaurants/bars. If it wasn’t for the tour I wouldn’t have tried alot of those dishes. Sara our guide was terrific. It rained the entire excursion but that didn’t stop us, also all the eateries were under roof and covered walk ways. If your picky eater probably not for you- luckily I like everything 😁

Great Food, history and fun times in Shinsekai, Osaka!!!
We had a fantastic time on our food tour with guide J !! He gave us a lot of interesting history on the Osaka food scene in the Shinsekai area. J was funny, and made sure everyone had a great time along the way. All the food was top notch and we all enjoyed it very very much. This is will be one of the great highlights of our Japan trip! Highly recommended!! Thanks J and Viator for another great tour.

Such a fun afternoon! Must-do in Osaka!!
We had so much fun with Yayo! She was so welcoming and sweet (not to mention an excellent cook!). She has thought out every aspect of the experience and really does a great job explaining how to cook the dishes and letting you cook with guidance! It was so charming that she does this in her home and that her mom makes plum wine and miso for her cooking classes! This was a highlight of our trip and memories we will cherish! Ookini Yayo!

Amazing time with Mari!!
Absolutely incredible experience last night with our guide Mari — hands down one of the best food tours I’ve ever done. The bar hopping was so thoughtfully curated and gave us the perfect mix of hidden local spots, amazing atmosphere, incredible food, and drinks we never would have found on our own. Every stop felt authentic and special, and Mari made the entire night feel effortless, fun, and personal. She was warm, knowledgeable, attentive, and made sure everyone was having an amazing time. We left full, happy, and feeling like we experienced a side of Osaka we never could have discovered ourselves. Could not recommend this tour more highly!

Forever Glory to Capatain Salvatore!!!
This was hands down the best food tour I've ever been on, and will probably ever be on. We had such a fabulous group with dynamite chemistry, and it was spearheaded by the GREATEST FOOD TOUR GUIDE EVER in Salvatore. He has the ability to keep everyone involved enthusiastic, friendly, and involved. It's remarkable how he was able to juggle the entire operation with how rowdy we were. I definitely want to come back to Osaka, and book another tour with him as my Captain. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Salvatore if you're interested in doing a food tour in Osaka. And you should be interested, because you won't be disappointed!!! 👏👏👏

Amazing tour
Absolutely incredible tour. Learned so much and went to SO many places. Was an incredible experience. I can’t imagine not having done this tour - it set us up so well to know the good spots in Osaka and how to find more hidden gems. Even days after the tour we were discovering incredible food because of what we learned here.

Osaka Tour
Kevin B and Kevin R of Pinpoints were so knowledgeable! They knew exactly what our group wanted to see, wanted to eat, wanted to shop for. They paced the tour based on our needs! I believe the guides is a critical factor in determining if a tour experience was thoroughly enjoyed or not. Kevin B and Kevin R of pinpoints made our tour very enjoyable… lots of humor and fun!

Pros: Very memorable and...
Pros: Very memorable and informative tour, exploring areas of Osaka influenced by yakuza. Lots of fascinating history going through the low-income areas. Some dark stuff, but the tour still felt safe because it is Japan.
Neutral: I didn't realize we were going through an active red light district at the end! For some reason I thought it was a historic former site or something. Surreal looking part of town that is technically a restaurant district.
Cons: Although the tour guide was very talkative and friendly, they also had a lot of personal opinions thrown into the tour that could rub some people the wrong way.

Great Osaka Tour!
We had a good time with Rika. She gave us specific directions on where to meet. Do note that Osaka Station is busy and can be complicated as well. We had no issues with Tokyo or Kyoto. She was very sweet and showed us 3 main areas of Osaka… all of them a little different from the other. She had some funny stories to go along with our tour. I recommend this tour with her especially if you do not have much time in Osaka.
