A great short tour of Osaka.

The range of sights on our walking tour was impressive and Hugo gave us an excellent insight into the districts of Osaka we visited and historic facts about the city and famous figures. Hugo was immediately friendly, attentive and personable and gave us a memorable experience of this exciting city. We would recommend his services unreservedly! (There is just one aspect to the presentation of this tour that needs attention but it does not concern the tour guide. It is as follows. We sought a private tour for a half-day that we expected to be like the Viator full day private tour of Tokyo…which involved a private vehicle drive round the city. Unexpectedly, it proved to be a walking tour! There are 3 ways to find this Osaka tour - only 1 of them comes under the heading of “walking tours”. The tour description itself does not contain the word “walking” on the Viator website. The other 2 ways of finding the tour are: (i) via the search under ‘private tours’ on the Viator website, and (ii) on the Tripadvisor website …neither state this a “walking” tour. Please make sure this is clearer in future to help customers decide about choosing the tour?)

A great day!

Excellent way to see the important locations in Kyoto and Nara. This trip allows you to see a lot in a short period of time. Pick up from your hotel and drop off is very convenient. Great value for 10 hours. Our driver was Hamza. He did a great job getting us around to the spots and picking us up. More of a driver than a guide.

This is a great tour to see the top sites in Osaka. Lito was a great guide, bringing us to the top sites in Osaka and giving us expert local spots to go to. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of this great city and the Osaka and Kyoto area. He took us to some great local food spots as well for local cuisine. Having transportation to drive us from Kyoto and around a vast city like Osaka made the tour even better. I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Osaka.

We had an amazing time on this tour. We were able to customize it so we could visit Matcha Street in Uji as well as visit the places on the tour; Nara Park and Fushimi Inari Shrine. Hamza was an excellent guide, he pointed out things we were seeing along the drive, picked us up just on time, and had us back to the cruise port in Osaka with time to spare. Esteve was knowledgeable about everything I threw at him. He explained why there are multiple types of Japanese writing, the history of the castle, restaurant tips and train navigation. He tailored our tour for our limited mobility by using more trains and less walking. Highly recommended.

Great guide, great experience.

It was fast paced, but allowed us to see a lot. Saw several shrines, temples, Osaka Castle, and shopping/local areas. The Guide, Yama, explained everything we encountered and experienced very thoroughly. He spoke very good English and added a bit of humor that made it educational and fun!
