This was one of the best experiences I have had in Malta, and it is shocking cheap considering how much you get to do and see. The captain, Kevin, was great and the crew so nice. Stuck to itinerary, got bus ticket. All worthwhile. I would do it again.

One of the best tours on Malta! You get to see both the ocean and they take you to the 2nd island. Our ship captain Kevin was very fun knowledgeable about both islands. Kevin took the time and talk with me about the country and wha to see. If you do take the boat ride make sure Kevin is your captain he I’ll make this experience so much better.

I booked my trip the night before as a last minute because the weather was so good and didn’t want to miss seeing Comino and Gozo. I’m so happy I did! Just to note- all the information is on the booking page you just need to click on so anyone who says they weren’t aware of chargeable extras didn’t click the important information! I paid €5 for the bus on Gozo and €15 for the speedboat which were totally worth it. The captain or Hornblower has an exceptional playlist and knows a lot about the surrounding coastal areas. The staff are all friendly and the boat has a great vibe. The speedboat was mental. The driver was funny, knowledgeable and again with the great playlist! Worth it to get up close to the rocky coves and hidden gems and see the coastline of Comino. Blue lagoon is busy even now but highly recommend a swim- I went down the slide off the boat but you can jump off the boat. The water was impressively warm for mid November. Had enough time for a swim, a walk and sry off before sailing over to Gozo. Paul our driver in Gozo was lovely. Dropped in a central location had enough time to see a few sights. Things to remember; Take cash Be punctual at the meeting points Get to the Hornblower early if you want a top deckchair There are toilets onboard large enough to change in Food and drink onboard is reasonable, but disappointed I didn’t treat myself to a pineapple; they are €10 with alcohol and are refillable for I think €6? In the autumn/winter months take layers. The sun low late afternoon and sea breeze means topdeck can feel chilly so be prepared. For someone limited time on a short break this was a great was to see bite size highlights and was the perfect way to end my first visit to Malta.

Good as long as you are prepared

Adriana_B, Apr 2026
* This is more of a relaxing cruise with limited sightseeing. If you’re more interested in seeing landmarks, I’d definitely recommend the bus tour—it’s only five euros, but note that you need to have cash. * Depending on when you go, being out on the open water can get quite cold and windy, so dress accordingly. * The speedboat truly lives up to its name—it goes extremely fast and plays very loud music. Be prepared to get splashed and possibly experience temporary ringing in your ears. If you’re not into intense, rough rides, you may want to skip it. * The pineapple drink wasn’t worth it in my opinion, even though it seems to be a major selling point of the tour. * The organization of the buses could definitely be improved. * Some of the basic staff can come across as short and dismissive, lacking a customer service mindset. * There’s no guidance once you get off the bus during the bus tour, and the time is very limited. It’s best to plan ahead and prioritize what you want to see. * A big plus: they are extremely punctual. They run on a very tight schedule and will leave without you if you’re late. For example, they can only remain stationary in port for about five minutes, so boarding and exiting must be done quickly. * A note for the tour organizers: the toilets need more frequent cleaning, as they become very dirty over time. The bus tour organization could also be improved, and staff should be more attentive and consistent. At times, they dismiss questions, change instructions abruptly, and give conflicting directions, which affects the overall customer experience.

Great customer service and very understanding tour guide

Felecia_S, Apr 2026
I want to leave a review about the excellent customer service we received. After arriving to our activity my husband and I quickly realized we would be with about 100 very loud and obnoxious teenagers. Definitely not the crowd or experience we were expecting. We mentioned this to the tour guide and let her know that we felt uncomfortable and like were crashing their party. She was very kind and understanding and explained it is normally not like this but this happened to be a very rare occurrence. She knew we would be absolutely miserable on this boat and offered to refund us. We ended up going a completely different route. Even though we were disappointed about the adventure not working out, the day was still great.

Brilliant day, cupcake restaurant in Victoria is very good, would recommend getting the €5 bus. Would do again.

Poor communication, no...

Kelly_E, Apr 2026
Poor communication, no tour company name so not sure what to look for upon arrival, and lack of important information in the listing like how early they allow people to board the boat and that you need to go online to get a ticket to get off the boat at blue lagoon.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

We understand your disappointment in not making it to the tour, as it truly is an amazing experience. That said, we are quite surprised by your comments regarding “poor communication,” as all essential information is clearly provided to guests prior to the tour. Here is an extract from your ticket: Know Before You Go Information from your activity provider Important Information: - All visitors wishing to get off the boat in the Blue Lagoon must present a landing QR code access pass with a designated time slot. You can obtain this on www.blcomino.com. You will need the morning slot. - Boarding opens at 8:30 AM and closes at 9:45 AM. The boat departs at 10:00 AM sharp and will not be delayed for late arrivals. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before departure. - No refunds will be issued for late arrivals or missed departures. Unfortunately, you arrived after boarding had closed and the vessel had already departed. As stated in our terms, no refunds can be issued in such cases. We always strive to provide a smooth and enjoyable experience for all our guests and rely on the information provided being carefully reviewed in advance. Kind regards, Hornblower Cruises

Wonderful day on the water

Adrienne_S, Apr 2026
Great day on the water. Everything was pretty well put together - the boat ride, tour of the blue lagoon and Gozo. We had some issues with getting on the bus in Gozo but for 5€, you couldn’t complain. We had enough time to grab a light bite once in Victoria. Only wishing we had more time in Victoria to see the Citadella. The optional speed boat tour was alright but not completely necessary since our primary boat (the horn blower) took us through the caves really well. The maneuvering of that big boat was highly impressive !

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thank you for your great review! We’re really happy to hear you enjoyed your day on the water and appreciated how the tour was put together and we’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to our captain, who will be delighted to hear that his manouvering skills stood out! We appreciate your feedback regarding the transport in Gozo. While this service is operated independently, we’re always glad to hear guests still make the most of their time in Victoria even if it never quite feels like enough time to see everything, especially the Citadel. Thank you as well for your honest thoughts on the speedboat ride it’s always helpful for future guests when deciding how to spend their day. We hope to welcome you on board again soon for another memorable experience!

Memorable Day

mayajmistry, Apr 2026
Overall an amazing day. Travelled with 12 yr olds. Got to boat 0915 - top deck taken but to be honest sitting downstairs was comfortable. Excellent food/drink quality and price. Pineapple cocktail a must. Good portion chips/nuggets for €6. Guides narrative great. Well organised with clear communication. Speedboat cost €15 each and mainly paying for exhilarating ride and ability to visit through the caves as boat on return does go round same area anyway. Blue lagoon amazing - felt rushed to spend time after speedboat and leave for Gozo. Bus dropped in Gozo but uphill walk 10 mins to get to Citadel which was a little underwhelming (hence lost a star). Kids did not enjoy though souvenir shops were good. If travelling with kids who love beach and water stay at Lagoon. Temp of water was 17deg - approached on beach rather than boat which helped swimming. Would recommend Hornblower.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We’re really happy to hear you had an overall amazing day and that you enjoyed the food, drinks (great choice with the pineapple cocktail!), and the organisation of the tour. It’s also great to know our team and onboard commentary made a positive impression. We appreciate your honest feedback regarding the Blue Lagoon and Gozo stops. We understand that time can feel limited when trying to fit everything in, especially with the optional speedboat ride, and your insight will definitely help future guests plan their day according to what they enjoy most. Thank you as well for sharing your tips for families we’re sure other guests travelling with children will find this very helpful. We truly appreciate the recommendation and hope to welcome you and your family on board again soon! Best wishes, Katherine, Captain Kevin & the Hornblower Crew

Fun family day

MARK_B, Apr 2026
The tour was super organized, and the crew was really friendly and fun. They knew all about the timings and the best sights. I totally recommend it if you want to see the Blue Lagoon and do a quick tour of Gozo. But... you won't get much time in Gozo if you go that way. So, I'd say stick to the Blue Lagoon if you're more into swimming and hanging out on the boat. If you have more time, do a separate Gozo tour. But for a day trip, this is perfect.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thank you for your great review! We’re really happy to hear you enjoyed the organisation of the tour and had a fun experience with our crew they’ll be glad to hear your kind words. You’ve made a very good point regarding the time in Gozo. Our day trip is designed to give guests a taste of both Comino and Gozo in one day, which is perfect for those on a tighter schedule. For guests who prefer more time swimming and relaxing, focusing on the Blue Lagoon is definitely the way to go. We really appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you on board again soon!

Good day out

Response from Host, Apr 2026

It’s great to know you found the crew friendly and attentive, and that the cave tour was worth it. It’s definitely a highlight! 🚤 We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you on board again soon!

Malta - Gozo, Blue Lagoon and Camino Boat Trip

Bob_B, Apr 2026
The trip was amazing. The only downside was that we weren’t advised to get a hop on hop off bus. So we ended up not getting a good experience of Gozo.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thank you for taking the time to review us 😊 We appreciate your feedback regarding the time in Gozo. An optional shuttle service is available for guests who wish to explore more of the island, and we always aim to communicate this as clearly as possible. Details are included in the booking information, and our team also mentions it again at check-in to assist guests. We’re happy to hear you still enjoyed the overall experience and hope to welcome you on board again soon! 🚤

Great trip, even in November!

Mirosaw_W, Nov 2025
We had such a good time on this trip - even in November it was awesome, and we still got to swim in the Blue Lagoon. I just wish the Gozo part was organised a bit better, since we basically got dropped off and given free time. But overall it was a really relaxed, fun 7 hours, and the staff were super friendly.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re delighted to hear you had such a great time, November can be a wonderful month to enjoy the islands, and it’s fantastic that you were still able to swim in the Blue Lagoon. We appreciate your feedback regarding the Gozo stop. We intentionally offer free time so guests can explore at their own pace, whether independently or by joining our optional shuttle to Victoria. That said, we understand that some guests prefer a more structured visit, and we’re always reviewing how we can make the experience even clearer and more seamless. It’s wonderful to know you found the day relaxed and fun, and that our crew helped make it enjoyable. We hope to welcome you onboard again in the future! It’s great to know the speedboat and the Blue Lagoon swim were memorable moments for you! Your practical tips for future travellers are spot-on as well: cash, punctuality, layers in the cooler months, and arriving early for the top deck chairs truly make a difference. I was lucky to book 2...

Hannah_D, Nov 2025
I was lucky to book 2 spots the night before, and it turned out to be a great experience! They take the boat up close to caves so you can take a good look, and get some good photos. A decent stretch of time spent at the Blue Lagoon for swimming and exploring, though I chose to stay on the boat sun lounger at this point. I had been unclear about the optional bus on Gozo so decided to catch a regular Malta Transport bus into Victoria which takes about half an hour - would recommend opting for the tour bus for €5 each (bring cash) as will save you lots of time. Arrive at port early to bag a sun lounger as these get snapped up quickly. Thoroughly recommend this experience, we had a great time!

Highly Recommended

Chuck_R, Nov 2025
I truly enjoyed this tour and highly recommended! Great and well organized tour. Blue Lagoon definitely was the highlight. The food they offer for purchase is reasonably priced. The only thing is the travel from Valletta to the meeting point, by bus it’s a little over an hour. You could use Bolt but I opted a cheaper option, bus was only €2.

Great Trip to Blue Lagoon and Gozo!

Erin_R, Nov 2025
Itinerary runs like clockwork - The area at the blue lagoon was gorgeous and quiet with plenty of time to swim. We added on the €5 pp bus tour for gozo island and it was great! Took us right to the centre, leaving us time to explore. Only issue we had was the lack of seats on the top deck - we arrived nearly an hour before sail and still had to share one between 2 of us.

Response from Host, Nov 2025

Hi Erin, Thank you for your lovely feedback. We’re so glad you enjoyed the day, especially the time at the Blue Lagoon and the Gozo tour! It’s great to hear the itinerary ran smoothly and that you had plenty of time to swim and explore. We completely understand your comment about top deck seating, it’s our most popular spot and fills up quickly, especially in high season. We always recommend arriving early, but it can still get busy on full trips. We really appreciate your review and hope to welcome you aboard again soon! Warm regards, Katherine, Captain Kevin & the Hornblower Team

It was a great...

Martynas_L, Nov 2025
It was a great experience, I chose this particular one because of the details I found about the tour, extras, itinerary compared to the lack of details at other boat tours, even though it meant I travelled from Valletta to St. Paul's for it. I really appreciated that the captain told us a bit about where we were passing by, also the speed boat cave tour extra was lots of fun. One thing I would advise is that you should choose either speed boat or going snorkelling in blue lagoon by yourself, there's hardly enough time for both, I tried to do both but had a swim for 10-15mins only because I then needed to change in time as I went for a tour in Gozo, Victoria.

Response from Host, Nov 2025

Hi Martyn, Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for making the trip from Valletta to join us. It’s great to hear that you chose us for our detailed itinerary and extras, and that you enjoyed the captain’s commentary and the speedboat cave tour. You’re absolutely right it can be a bit of a squeeze to fit in both snorkeling and the speedboat tour, especially if you’re also heading on to explore Gozo afterwards. Your feedback is really helpful, and we’ll make sure to highlight this more clearly so guests can plan their time at the Blue Lagoon better. Thanks again for joining us we’re delighted you had such a good experience overall! Warm regards, Katherine, Captain Kevin & the Hornblower Team

Response from Host, Nov 2025

Do it!

MORGAN_B, Nov 2025
Great tour! A easy way to enjoy the sun, sights, and water in one day. Highly recommend. The boat ride was smooth and the speedboat was a short ride, but fun seeing the caves and learning about various movies that were filmed in the area. Of note- there are several separate charges involved that are cash only (bus €5) and card OR cash (speedboat €15). You will need to pay for the bus to get to the main town, so go ahead and pay for it on check in. If you don’t, youll have to get a taxi to and from the main town! Don’t miss out.

Great experience, well organised and enjoyable

Sabina_Y, Nov 2025
We had a great day aboard the horn blower, we took the shuttle on Gozo too. They sailed on time and the buses were also on time, would highly recommend

Not to miss. Excellent value for the price paid. Bring a sweater - the three of us had to buy a hoodie for the ferry.
