Wonderful service from...
Wonderful service from Dimo who picked me up from my hotel and gave us some interesting details about Sofia and Bulgaria during our drive. Our guide in skopje was very good and took us to all of the sites in the city and gave us a lot of interesting history about the country. The drive didn't feel that long and it was very comfortable. I didn't know a lot about Macedonia before I went so this was a great introduction to the country.

We had a lovely trip with...
We had a lovely trip with Iva. The tour was punctual and the bus to Plovdiv was comfortable. There was a bakery near the starting location which made it easy to grab something to eat before the trip started. There was a bathroom break around 10 minutes before we reached Plovdiv. We had a nice guided tour in Plovdiv, where Iva explained the history behind each of the attractions. After the guided tour, we had some time to explore the city on our own and grab lunch. Iva also gave us restaurant recommendations. The return trip also started on time. All in all, it was a great tour and Iva was a lovely guide. Plovdiv is an amazing city with a lot of interesting historical attractions, which can easily be explored for a day or two. Can totally recommend this tour for people who only have limited time to explore the city.

A Perfect Day Trip Elevated by an Outstanding Guide
Our trip to Rila Monastery and Boyana Church from Sofia was excellent, thanks entirely to our guide, Maria. She was incredibly proficient, efficient, and thoughtful throughout the day. The quality of any tour depends heavily on how it’s conducted, and Maria elevated the entire experience. She even arranged a cab for us from the final stop when we were cutting it close for our flight to Athens—something we truly appreciated. There was ample time at each location, and the day felt well‑paced and well‑organized. The only suggestion we’d make is to consider replacing the visit to Boyana Church with the cave of Saint Ivan, as the church felt rather non‑descript and could have been skipped. Overall, a memorable and well‑managed tour, made exceptional by Maria’s professionalism and care.

A walking tour like this...
A walking tour like this is a must to make sense of what you see in Sofia and other parts of Bulgaria. Joy was a perfect guide and we learnt so much about the history, culture, religion and politics of this very old country. Ideas for how we could spend the afternoon were really useful, we filled our bottles from the thermal water tap and were taken to a rather nice cafe for some proper hot chocolate. What a well-spent 2 hours in this compact historical centre. We thoroughly recommend this tour.
