If you book with Viator you may get to the boat and not be in the list. We had our Blue Lagoon landing pass but it was not clear when we got there that we would need to show it. We missed the first boat because of this. When we got in line we had to wait in the sun then when we finally went to get in they didn’t want our landing pass they wanted our tickets. The operator then said he had had problems all morning with people who had booked through Viator. It was hit crowded and a terrible start to the day to get on the boat.

Beautiful blue water but overcrowded hell on earth.

Nothing wrong with the boat trip - it was fine. Not much to do in Gozo if you’re only visiting for three hours though - an open top bus trip was a bit of a rip-off for 20 euros each, we could have taken an uber for half the price. As for Comino and the blue lagoon, it is undoubtedly beautiful and has the bluest water you’ll ever see. Unfortunately, it is jam-packed with thousands of day-trippers and you’re met with a load of tacky pop up bars selling cheap cocktails. More like Benidorm than Malta. If you don’t like crowds, avoid, I wish we had.

Thank you for your feedback. The €20 HOHO bus ticket is meant to serve you for the whole duration of the trip - meaning approx 5 hours. If you went to Gozo then you split your trip time, approx 2.5 hours in Gozo and approx 2.5 hours in Comino. If you bought the €20 ticket then you should have maximised this and spent the day in Gozo. Unfortunately I agree with you re the tacky pop up trucks. You'll need to walk beyond these bars to explore Comino and find some nice spots to swim and enjoy the scenery.

    More people than seats

We got there 10 mins prior to start time and the boat was rammed. We were told upstairs was full and ushered to the lower deck and that was also full as no seats were available. We were then told we could sit on the dinghy but what the hell was that option? we paid and wanted actual seats to sit in and be comfortable. Even after we got on the boat people were still coming after we got on. Saw someone sitting on the stairs and other people standing. They overbooked the boat and had more people than seats. We just decided to get off and went and found something else to do with our day. Was such a disappointment as we’ve been wanting to do this day trip for a year. Wouldn’t book with them again. Good luck if you decide to book with them in the future.

Sit in the dinghy?? Please do not make up such nonsense. We have very strict rules about capacity and would not even dare carry 1 person over. Our crew have been doing this for years and we never once left with one person not assigned to a seat. Even the crew have to be seated!! Please be punctual next time.

    crowded, busy, hot

This is NOT a private tour unlike what Viator description states. Overall very poorly organized and hectic. They stuff you in their boat like sardines. A/C doesn't run until after you depart so prepare for the heat. They will tell you that there is no food at Blue Lagoon which is a lie. They have vending machines on board so they scare you to buy things on the boat. They also rent snorkels (they say they have 10 to create urgency) and umbrellas for about 10 euros on the boat. You can buy an umbrella for 15 euro which comes with a concrete block. You are better checking Blue Lagoon vendors. Blue Lagoon is not a sand beach. It is incredibly difficult to set your umbrella. I honestly wouldn't recommend going to Blue Lagoon because of how busy it is. If you want to go, do your research on the tour company.

This product is simply a ferry transfer to Gozo and/or Comino. It's impossible to pack the boat as we do not allow any people on the boat without a seat. Yes there are food trucks on Comino where you can buy food and drinks - we have nothing to do with the operation of these trucks. I agree blue lagoon is a bit hectic during the peak months, but all touristic sites are like that in their peak. There are nicer spots in Comino which are calmer, but you need to venture out to find them. If you stay at the first area where you're dropped off, then yes it's hectic there. Best to do your research before visiting. Thank you

    Le ferry/bateau était...

    Julie_S, Jun 2023

    Response from Host, Jun 2023
