Wine tasting with Luke was an absolute highlight! 🍷
Not only was the wine selection fab (and dangerously drinkable), but Luke made the whole experience hilarious from start to finish. The hour flew by with great stories, loads of laughs, and full-on banter.
Somehow we learned about wine while also laughing most of the time — which in my opinion is exactly how wine tasting should be!
Relaxed, entertaining, and very well hosted. Highly recommend… just be prepared to leave smiling and possibly wanting another glass! 😄🍷

Fun and interactive experience. The host is very kind and engaging. You will learn a little about the wine regions of Spain, but not a ton about wine itself. It is geared slightly towards the 20's age group.
Amazing experience with the owner of the shop. He was funny, spoke great English and made us feel welcome. Would recommend this tour! Had 3 glasses of wine for a great price.
Wine was delicious, but the 1 hour tasting lasts 2 hours. Definitely something a traveler should know before they make dinner reservations or have plans afterwards. I also wish the guide spoke more about the specific wines we tried. It was my first tasting ever, and the focus was more on Spanish wine in general and “how to taste wine” vs helping us use those skills to understand the wine in front of us. Often we were nearly done with our glass when he told us what wine we were drinking. In a country where wine is so affordable, this didn’t feel worth 30€

Hey there Greg. Thanks for your review, though we feel we need to respond as 2 stars seems pretty harsh.
First of all - depending on which platform you book through - the specific details change. But our tasting is a 1hr 20 event. But if it runs long it runs long as we aren’t there to pressure people or stress them out.
This is also why we have the tasting early at 5pm - way before dinner time in Spain.
Also, it seems you’ve criticized our tasting for doing the exact job it’s meant to do. It’s an introduction to Spanish, regions, how to taste. It’s not a tasting where we just focus on three specific wines - in a country of thousands of wines, almost four thousand wineries, hundreds of grapes - as that wouldn’t be useful.
As you said it was your first tasting, therefore this tasting is entirely designed for someone like you, so we are disappointed it wasn’t what you want.
Also it’s disappointing after we went out of our way to deal with customer service at Viator for your last minute booking changes on a Friday night.
We know everyone’s opinion is their opinion but we still think your review is harsh and it’ll help damage the standard of our small business in the rankings.

You will get 3 generous pours of wine. About 1/3 glass of each. The server was one of the owners. He gave us plenty of information about the Spanish wine regions. Tapas are not provided, so you should eat first.
The wine selection and the pastel de nata was amazing! We had a good time trying different wines. We wish the presentation was longer so we could learn more.
Great introduction to Spanish wines. Tasted 3 different wines and host explained each region in which the wine originated from.
It was very entertaining and educational!! The owner’s presentation was fabulous. All customers enjoyed the event. Would highly recommend this.
The best wine tasting we have ever done! Phillipe was incredible and such a knowledgeable, friendly and fun host. I would recommend this wine tasting to anyone who comes to Madrid. The shop is beautiful and the wine selection is fantastic. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! 😊

It was great. Owner kept it real and was quite fun... I appreciated his style of explaining regions, tastes, grapes etc...

The shop owner/guy who led the tasting was incredibly kind. However, we didn't learn a thing about the actual wine we drank or style/regions of the wines. There just needs to be actual education on it. Saying the type of wine we drank would have been helpful since I would have bought some.

Hey there!
Our tastings are not centered around the specific wines themselves. We teach about how the regions and country work, how to taste wines properly and other facts surrounding the world of Spanish wine. It’s an introduction tasting, as opposed to a tasting specifically tailored to x or y wine.

The wine tasting was great with a lot of good wines and company. You get a lot of information while not being too overly formal.
We sampled 3 different Spanish wines. The 3 Spanish wines were very different and grown from 3 different Spanish wine growing areas. The guide, Siegfried, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He was timely and was ready at the time of the tour.
Incredibly knowledgeable host and venue so conducive to engaging with others while
tasting good wine. Would definitely recommend the experience

The host was super friendly, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. He thought me the essentials on wine tasting, and I also learned about the different wine regions throughout Spain. Also, the wines we had sampled were amazing selections. The experience itself took longer than the advertised 1 hour (around 1.5hrs) so just something to consider as your plan your itinerary.
Great boutique that provides a personalized feel and a great vibe for wine and beginner wine lovers. The host provided a great environment and an educational experience on wines from Spain from the various regions.

Really enjoyable tasting last night with Rocky! Three Spanish wines whose varieties were all new to us. We also learned some very interesting facts about Spanish wine, as well and understanding ordering and tasting wines.
Very friendly, entertaining, and knowledgeable - highly recommend this tasting. We went over time a bit, so just keep this in mind when booking - much more relaxing to enjoy the tasting as it naturally plays out.
