Really fun trip!! The coach bus to Toledo was comfy and air conditioned. The guide was very knowledgeable about the city of Toledo. It wasn’t too large of a group, which was nice. The wine tasting was the highlight of the trip, super nice tour guide of the winery, the winery was beautiful, and the wine was amazing. Definitely recommend!!

We barely made it onto our bus on time, as we got a bit lost. Be early! There is no grace period. My understanding is that if we had missed it, there would be no refund and there would be no way for us to rejoin the group, even if we got ourselves to Toledo. I think it’s important to work with your customer, even when they make mistakes or have troubles. Otherwise, the tour was fantastic! We stopped for a bathroom and shopping break on the way in, which was needed. Once we got to Toledo, we broke off from the rest of the group and had a tour guide with only 5 of us, which is exactly the kind of experience one hopes for. He was very attentive to our questions and knowledgeable about the area, despite only being a guide for a few months. I believe his name was Elias. He also spoke in both Spanish and English for our group. I will say we did not have a lot of free time for lunch. I believe the description makes it sound like you will have an hour, but we had only 35 minutes. And I don’t see how the tour could have gone any faster. So I see this more on the tour company for not providing the correct amount of time, rather than the guide. It would be nice to not rush lunch and also maybe have some time to explore/shop on our own. However, I understand that we did have to get to the winery. The winery was also very nice to see the production process. The wines were well balanced and solid. Again, the only part that was a little difficult was that we were rushed through the tasting process. We were trying the wines with our charcuterie, and once the last wine had been sipped, our guide at the winery dismissed herself and basically our tour was over, leaving no time to finish the wines or charcuterie. It was a little awkward. I’m actually very proud of the English man who stayed at the table and enjoyed himself until he was done because that’s what we’re paying for! I took a huge gulp and got up because I needed time to use the bathroom. The winery guide was very nice though. She even allowed us to try the olive oil, because my husband and I have a special interest in that. Overall, I probably would have rather spent less time touring the production process and more time with the wine. It’s hard to wrangle everyone because they have questions, but I would recommend answering them as you continue walking. The bus driver, Jose?, did a good job, but I still got a bit car sick, so I might recommend Dramamine. And I believe the guide on the bus’s name was Jorge. He was nice, but I do think he was saying a lot more in Spanish than in English, which was harder to hear on the bus. We were very glad for the smaller group overall. Toledo is a beautiful city that you most definitely could spend a few days in.

Easy to get to pick up location. Friendly neighborhood and friendly greeting. Very good tour guide, knowledgeable and clear speaker in Spanish and English. Full day of touring Toledo and Winery. Great experience. Winery included to brief wine tasting and some notes. Highly recommended. A must do.

The architecture of Toledo. A lovely winery tour and wine tasting experience. Knowledgeable guides. Tour conduct in bilingual manner - English First followed by Spainish.

We really enjoyed the day. But Toledo is a super hard walk for an elderly slightly mobility impaired person. We couldn’t do the walk, so we met the group at a meeting point and did the winery part. It would be nice if there were indications of difficulty on the booking site. Jorge and Rachel were both great guides. The winery was great- and Natalia was wonderful there.
Anna_K, Sep 2024
Winery visit was good but we didn't have enough time to enjoy the wine and tapas. It was very rushed at the end. The walking tour was great!

The time spent in Toledo was a bit short. Our instructions on how to find the tour guides was a little frustrating and we had a couple trainees on the tour and they were a bit difficult to hear so we missed out on a lot. The tour guide at the winery was absolutely fantastic but we spent so much time touring the winery that we were rushed out of the tasting incredibly fast and the snack at the winery was tiny. I would have liked less time touring the commercial winery and more time enjoying the wine tasting.
Julie_W, Jun 2024
Too many people on tour, guides were not very friendly and were very difficult to understand, felt very rushed at the every stop including the wine tasting. We wished we had just gone on our own to Toledo.
Barbara_R, May 2024
Tour was a wonderful combination of historical Toledo and experiencing the Toledo countryside at a beautiful vineyard. The group was broken up into 2 smaller groups so did not feel overwhelmed walking through the narrow streets of Toledo. An hour of free time was most appreciated. Lovely day trip from Madrid.

We had a fabulous experience in Toledo with our guide Marie. She is very knowledgeable about the history of all the different extraordinary cathedrals and beautiful buildings of Toledo. In addition, she was able to communicate very well in English which made the history of the city come alive! Marie slowed and explained the various neighborhoods including dates in history. Her background in history and knowledge made for one of the very best tours.
Also, the Winery was an exceptional addition along with the wine samples, tapas, and history and up-to-date functions.
Via tour is fortunate to have Marie as a guide. Also, Juan was an excellent driver. My husband and I will long remember our day in Toledo!

This tour took in the main parts of Toledo with a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. The buildings and views over Toledo were stunning and the whole town is scenic.
We took advantage of the tourist lunch which I have to say was good value for money.
A word of warning, Toledo is built on a hill and there were lots of steep cobbled streets to walk up and down, so if you have any mobility problems then this tour may not be for you.
Laura_E, Aug 2019
When the tour guide wasn’t texting people on his phone, he was giving us poorly translated versions of the history happening around us. The bus parked at the bottom of the hill and made us HIKE up to see former worshipping sites that were completely empty. The winery was nice but only 1 hour of the trip. Would not recommend to wine connoisseurs and people who aren’t good with uphill hikes.

A must see for Toledo . Our tour guide was excellent and well versed in where we went , however it was difficult to hear him in the bus. The wine trip was well worth going to . A great day and so glad we went
Pamela_S, Jun 2019
The trip was very pleasant, travelling through beautiful countryside. The time in Toledo seemed a bit short, and we wished we had stayed in the town instead of going on the bus to the pre-arranged lunch. The food was not great and we would have enjoyed some free time in the town much more. The winery was a long way from anywhere, and the time there was too long. The stop at the factory was interesting.
Richard_B, Oct 2018
Tour was organized well and provided a comprehensive experience of the magnificent city of Toledo.Beatrice, our tour guide, was both knowledgeable and pleasant to be with on our all day excursion. Mateo, our tour driver, kept us safe and punctual on a very comfortable small-sized transport. Marie, the winery host, shared interesting insight into the wine making process and of course excellent wine!Lunch on our own in a local bar added authenticity to our memorable experience.

A great day visiting a beautiful old city. So glad we took a guided tour as the meandering streets and alleyways would have been a challenge to maneuver on our own. A couple of hours was just perfect to see the city. The tour included a very nice traditional lunch which was outside of town. The winery was a half hour ride from there. Would probably opt to do something different. I guess I didn’t realize it was far from town and I’ve visited a winery before so the tour was very good but I’ve heard it before. Great guide. Taking the minibus was a good decision too.

This is a really fun day. Enjoyed the tour of Toledo and the wine tasting. The optional lunch is a bit of a disaster. If you don't select the lunch, which i wouldn't recommend, they come back and get you in town. of course, we rushed to meet them and then they were late because group lunches take forever. I think they should just nix the lunch completely and let everyone go on their own or just explore the town more. Also, i didn't appreciate the factor tour where we were supposed to buy things.
rick_r, Sep 2017
great tour. Toledo was amazing, seeing and hearing about the history and the 3 cultures. The winery was fun, and really good wines. Bought some, and just bought some more in the distributor back in the states. well worth the tour.
Shawanna F, Sep 2017
Tour guide was very knowledgeable. It's a lot of walking up and down hills so be prepared. I don't recommend purchasing the lunch, you will be better off getting lunch on your own

Toledo is a easy and wonderful day trip from Madrid. We had a very small group only 3! so our tour through the city felt very personable. The coach that drove us was very nice. We especially enjoyed visiting the winery and could have spent more time there. We opted not to have the lunch, but ended up eating the provided lunch and paying for it on our own. The good part of this was that while driving up to the lunch location we stopped for some fabulous, picturesque views of Toledo which we would have missed otherwise. The lunch was only okay and part of us wishes we would have stayed to explore the town more rather than sitting down for a long lunch. Overall a recommended day trip!

Unfortunately we had a guide that was just not into it. I think her name was Carmen
She seamed disinterested and acted like she would have rather been somewhere else.
In fact the we took tips from other tourist who were on different tours and pointed things out to us.
The lunch was good and the restaurant sits on a hill top over looking the town.
The winery was fun the person pouring was a nice guy and he was very generous with the pours.
Steve_M, Jul 2016
A lot was covered and although we enjoyed each building we feel that a less time in each one would have been better. The guide seemed disinterested and failed to engage effectively with our group. She often spoke incessantly in a monotone voice before the group were even gathered.
Josephine H, Apr 2016
Skip the lunch the location was hilltop so the view was wonderful, but the food was way overpriced and just mass produced for the tourists. There must have been at least 200 people, all off of tour buses, in this restaurant. A couple that was travelling in our group hadn't ordered the lunch as part of the booking but decided at lunch time to share one order and it was the right call because there was enough food for two, and they saved considerably by paying directly rather than as part of the tour. Toledo was worth seeing as there is so much history there, but our guide was not very engaged. She was constantly texting on her phone, and seldom provided any information when we were on the bus, she just focused on her phone. The choice of winery was odd....it was down a long narrow road several kilometres and since it had rained, at one point we almost got stuck.
Claudia Marcela C, Jan 2016
For the same price you can go by yourself and have triple the wine you drink and get to know the city better. It was a nice trip but too expensive for what you get.
Denise R B, Oct 2015
We booked a small group tour but because nobody else showed up, the four of us friends enjoyed a private tour with our guide, Marta. We weren't that interested in the winery so we spent the entire day in Toledo instead. The gastronomic lunch of roast lamb was excellent. Toledo deserves a full day. The Cathedral is spectacular and the views stunning. Marta spoke beautiful English, was knowledgeable, funny and a pleasure to be with. She made the day special.
sjarboe, Sep 2015
Guide was fantastic! It was a nice getaway from the fast paced Madrid scene. I would recommend to anyone!
WILLIAM D W, Sep 2015
The guide was great, I wish the small group would have been less than 15 pp not 20 pp. the tour was great wish I had done full day in Toledo as there is so much see and do. Include the zip line across the river would have been great
Wendy M, Aug 2015
We were extremely fortunate because we were the only ones who showed up for this small group tour, so we ended up with a private tour. Our guide, Marta, was wonderful. So smart, passionate and informative and we learned so much about the history of this interesting Spanish city. We also really enjoyed the visit to the vineyard/winery and the accompanying wine tasting. I highly recommend this tour which I think would've been equally as good if there were a few other people in the group.
Kathleen M, Aug 2015
The small group tour was very enjoyable. I would recommend spending more time in town wandering around rather than going to the optional lunch.
