Be prepared to walk more than 3km and climb and lower stairs. Lots of history and if you come in summer will be hot

I want to give this tour 5 stars because the places we visited were so different and exciting and Sergi is an amazing guide with great personality, but time management was definitely an issue. We arrived back in Madrid about 45 min late, not because of traffic but because there was no pressure on those who would arrive late to our meeting points.
I just wish they would've considered those of us considerate enough to arrive on time had planned a day with an expectation to arrive in Madrid on time ..and if late, with a reasonable cause.

I have taken many tours before, but this was the absolute BEST tour so far. What made it distinguishable was the tour guide, Sergi. He was knowledgeable of the culture, environment, and history of the area. His best quality was how he cared for the customers taking the tour. He insisted in safety first (reminding us of the safety belt and to keep hydrated and to make sure we were protected from the brutal sun), he counted the passengers every time we boarded the bus, he got to know our names and called us out to see how we were doing frequently. He even talked to individuals and got to know a little about each person. He made sure that everyone was engaged in his presentation by doing them interactively with us, asking us questions, making the presentation relevant to us, and even asking us for our opinion in different issues. He even presented historical information as a little 'play' with the youngest of the group! He was witty and funny and caring.
This made this tour experience memorable.
Sergi must consider teaching other tour guides how to present a valuable tour!

Cuenca city and the enchanted forest are worth the visit. Our guide Sergey just doesn’t know history, he knows architecture and botany as well! He is very informative and helpful.

This is a wonderful tour. The tour guide - Serge - was very knowledgeable and a bit of a comedian. He had a wonderful knack for getting to know each traveler on the trip and speaking individually at times. He remembered our home country and state and something about us. We had over 30 people on our tour so this was quite an achievement. The bus ride to the Cuenca and the enchanted city is a little over an hour and it seem to go by really fast. The Enchanted City was absolutely unique and amazing. We had kids and older people on our tour and both seemed to like it and the hike is mostly flat and easy. Cuenca is stunning. Lots of interest if you like history and architecture. The lunch is optional and a little pricey but you get a lot of food and drink. I am a vegetarian and the restaurant had prepared a meal for me. Just ask! Serge can make it happen. I was interested in seeing the Cuenca cathedral but we just missed the open hours. Check open hours before you go if seeing this beautiful structure is important. I highly recommend this trip for solo travelers, national park enthusiasts, history and architecture buffs. You will not be disappointed. I hope you get Serge as your guide. The only recommendation I can make - and it is minor - the pick up point in Madrid is not centrally located. I was staying in the Centro area and according to GPS, the walk would have been over an hour. Most of my other walks were 20 minutes or less. You probably will have to take an Uber to the pick up point and for your return trip after dropping off.

Beautiful tour and Sergi is an amazing guide. We truly enjoyed the experience. It’s a perfect way to get away from the heat and see the nature

Beautiful county side and amazing wild flowers. Comfortable transportation. Good driver and great guide

Sergio was amazing. Wasn’t sure this tour was in both Spanish and English, which took a more minutes each time. But luckily for me I’m bi-lingual so I understood. Lots of walking but it is manageable with breaks and water. I’m 71 and a few extra pounds around the middle… but I made it… the experience and the photos where worth every minute. Thank you Sergio for your funny stories which made it more interesting … here is your 1000 ⭐️

We were the only English speakers among a group of nearly 20. While the guide translated all of the pertinent information to English, he spoke to all of the others continuously in Spanish. We felt like outsiders. 11 hours surrounded by constant Spanish conversations with scattered English interjections. This should not have been advertised as an English tour. Waste of mound time.

We had a very interesting time at the geological formations known as the Enchanted City and a visit to Cuenca. We shared lunch together which was fun
Sergi kept us informed and explained to us what we were seeing
It was a unique experience

This tour is really great fun. Agree to lunch with your group if offered. There is a lot of walking, But it is not difficult. Serge is a wonderful guide. He accommodated Spanish and English speakers. This trip had families as well as couples and individuals.

We greatly appreciated Sergi taking the time to translate his commentary into English even though there were only three of us who were non-Spanish speakers.

Interesting place and a very small tour. Sergi was very knowledgeable and really strove to create a family atmosphere. He went so far as to help us get a cab at the end. This tour is 11 hours like advertised so be ready!

Magical city with beautiful nature and history! Great guide and relaxed tour, highly recommend. Enchanted City was beautiful and old town Cuenca was better than we expected.
KapBill_P, Mar 2026
Very good way to see Cuenca and Enchanted City. Excellent walk through the unique landscape of the Enchanted City with guide giving the group an informative and fun explanation of what we were seeing. It was a wondrous place full of surprises. So glad we went there. The historic village part of Cuenca was beautiful- only wish is that we would have more time there. This excursion gave us a whole different view of Spain from the intense bustle of Madrid. Well worth the trip!

Sergi was an absolutely incredible tour guide and an even better human being. From the moment we met him, it was clear that he genuinely cared about making our experience special. He took the time to get to know us, which made the entire tour feel personal and meaningful rather than just another stop on a schedule.
His knowledge was impressive, and he shared so much history, insight, and local perspective that we would have never discovered on our own. What really stood out, though, was his passion and warmth—he made every moment engaging and memorable.
This wasn’t just a tour; it felt like a journey. Thanks to Sergi, we learned so much, saw things through a deeper lens, and created memories that will stay with us for a long time. If you have the chance to tour with Sergi, don’t hesitate—you’ll be in the best hands.

Cuenca and the enchanted city were utterly beautiful and unique locations. And Sergio was THE BEST. Truly there is a reason all the reviews here rave about him. Deeply knowledgeable, lots of narration about where we were and what we were seeing and its historical importance. Plus super funny and personable. I travel and tour a lot and he’s easily in the top few tour guides I’ve ever had the pleasure of taking a trip with. Book this, you won’t regret it.

Great tour, learned a lot about the history, small group (approx 30ish), safe driver, saw a lot of things, and most importantly, Sergei is a nice guy, he speaks both English and Spanish, he is funny and very knowledgeable.
Sergi from Cuenca tours spent the whole day with us starting by personally greeting us at the meeting place. The driver Marc was also solid throughout the day.
Sergei was very respectful, very knowledgeable in many aspects of cultural history, art, architecture and was available for any questions. He was a good tour guide making sure the group knew what the plan was in anticipation and reminded everyone about details including frequent bathroom breaks, lunch stops, and engaging with the group.
We can highly recommend Sergi and Cuenca Tours.

The city of cuenca is amazing to visit, our tour guide Sergi went above and beyond, we were happy we were only a group of 6 so it was more intimate of a tour and got to see many beautiful things, Sergi thank you for everything.

Full Day at the Cuenca and the Enchanted City: Mr. Sergie was a great tour conductor, very respectful, and a great driver. He answered all our questions and demonstrated passion for his job. He is well prepared, and is very knowledgeable. 🙌🏻 We just loved the ways he engaged in explaining and transmitting history. Cuenca is a beautiful city and Sergie helped us to understand its treasures and values. We loved the tour to Cuenca and the tour to the Enchanted city. It is amazing. A+👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎉❤️🙌🏻

Cuenca is a bit of a drive from Madrid, but totally worth the trip. The city was beautiful and rich with history. The people were hospitable and our guide Sergie was knowledgeable and had great recommendations. We left Madrid around 8:30 AM. It was a small group of 6 of us. We made a quick stop for the restroom and snack a little less than an hour into the drive. The Spanish omelette was recommended and did not disappoint. Our first part of the tour was at the Enchanted city, a privately owned ecological park with large rock formations that have evolved due to the natural elements. The “hike” was beautiful and serene. We visited in January and it was quite cold. As we got higher into the mountains it was snowing. Be sure to dress warmly if visiting in the winter months. After that we had lunch at a small restaurant. It was cold outside but there was a warm fireplace in the dining room. The paella was fantastic along with the lamb croquettas and artichokes. The second part of our tour was in the city of Cuenca itself. Sergie provide us with the history of the city as well as more information about its famous hanging houses. We were able to shop at our leisure and have a coffee before driving back to Madrid. Since we were a small group with nothing else scheduled for the day, Sergie allowed us to take our time. We arrived back in Madrid around 8:45 PM. He is a true gem and really made our day enjoyable.

Great tour and great guide. Fully in depth, fun, and worth the cost. Walking isn’t bad at all - we had grandmas in heels 😂 You do walk a bit but very manageable. Our tour guide (Sergiy) went out of his way to make connections and involve everyone. Translated personally everything to me when I was the only English speaker. Definitely recommend.
Aida_v, Jan 2026
Our guide demonstrated exceptional professionalism, thoughtfulness, and expertise. The time management was excellent, allowing us to experience a great deal, and I believe the tour effectively highlighted the best aspects of Cuenca.

Overall, this was an enjoyable trip, with lots of beautiful scenery and an interesting walk through Cuenca. I would recommend it.
However I was slightly disappointed with the "bilingual guide". Don't get me wrong -- great guy, very friendly, very likeable, and spoke decent enough English in general, like if you wanted to have a conversation with someone in a bar, but below par for what I would expect in a tour guide -- lots of pauses and "umms" to think about words, and odd vocabulary choices.
Thus, despite telling us at the outset that he would provide the same information in Spanish and English (the group was about 50/50 Spanish speakers and English+other), the length of explanations definitely felt lopsided (and though I didn't understand it all, I speak enough basic Spanish to feel like those explanations were more thorough/in depth).
This is mainly an issue for the Cuenca portion; the Devil's Window and Enchanted City are mostly visual. I still think the trip was great value, and am giving it 4 stars and "would recommend", just that if you are particularly interested in the historical/cultural background on Cuenca, be prepared to supplement the guide's explanations with Google searches etc.
