Recommended tour. Pick up times could have been more accurate acknowledging traffic conditions, as 45 minutes wait each day was not the best start.

This was a great deal! If you don’t have a car and want to see more of the island, this is the way to go.
We especially loved our guide - Paulo! He was so knowledgeable and really took the time to talk about the history and any other special tidbits about everything. This is how a guide should be. He really stood out in my opinion!

A mixed experience on both days. The first day (which was the opposite way round to advertised) was excellent. Our driver Paulo gave so much information and couldn’t have been better. The second day wasn’t quite as good. The stops were not as good and the tour was also in German, meaning we didn’t get as much information.

A great way to see the island east si one day the west, the next. Paolo, our guide, on both days, was great - very professional, informative and a great sense of humour. He ensured we were well looked after.

Lionel was very knowledgeable about the West Coast and he kept us entertained throughout the day. His driving skills were excellent, we felt safe in his hands. This is a must tour if you don’t want to hire a car yourselves.

This is a great tour - well worth the money! Paola our guide was excellent!!! Gave us lots of relevant information as we drove the routes which was great. We got to see so many parts of the island that we would never have seen or driven to. All of it was excellent - highly recommend this tour.

This is a good way to see a lot of the island in a short time. I preferred the 2nd day. The bus was clean and in good state. Co-travelers were respectful of schedule. Not all stops are amazing and sometimes just a few minutes to snap a picture is enough

I went on this trip solo and this trip was so accommodating. The drivers (on both of the days) were a fountain of knowledge - they knew the ins and outs of the island. The time at each stop was reasonable and the timing for lunch was long enough. There was plenty of time to capture pictures, ask questions and enjoy each location. I would 100% recommend this excursion with your trip to Madeira to make it an awesome holiday :)

Good way to visit a lot of the island's highlights if limited on time or wanting a hassle free experience. I ended up with Paulo both days and he was very friendly, professional and knowledgable.
Weather the only thing against us, especially for a couple of the viewpoints, but nothing the operator or Paulo could do about that. And part of the trade off travelling in the quieter pre-season (early March). Good excuse to return in the summer I guess!

A great way to get an appreciation of the island’s geography and its history. Lionel was extremely informative and a very thoughtful guide. Well worth the money and leads up to a great climax at the end with spectacular views from the top of the mountain.

Our guide, Gloria (who also was the driver) was very informative, polite and friendly. You get to see places that would be difficult to reach by public transport.
Day 2 was raining and misty but the tour was stll enjoyable.
My only negative comment is that a little more time could have been spent in some of the places.

A very nice way to get an overview of the island and see several key locations. Good value for the spend and Gloria and Jose were great guides. A few of the stops seemed like ‘fillers” as there are only so many key locations to see. Overall very nice and well organized.

The first day was amazing (East side for us) Had Lionel who was great. Saw amazing things especially the top of the mountains. IM sure the second day would have been great as well. On the second stop my husband felt slightly sick (being in the very back on the van might have not helped). He was concerned he might throw up and there was no accommodations for this. No small bags of any kind. We hadn't eaten so he didn't have anything in his stomach. He is 6'2" tall. Was the tallest person on the tour but we were picked up last so got what seats were left. He couldn't even sit in the normal seat (front seat would have worked, but no one offered to move). The first day he had to sit sideways with knees out in the isle. The second day Van had a middle seat in the back so his knees could fit. Back to if you are sick...really couldn't see staying since there were no bags so we ended up leaving the group. We were only about 10 miles from our starting point but were left on our own to get back. We ended up taking a bus and then a taxi. Took several hours, lots of worrying. He never ended up actually getting sick. Maybe they should have like a "back up" van or car to come get people if something happens on a trip. Especially in a country where you don't speak their language (although here pretty easy to find someone who speaks English). The company did offer to allow us to reschedule the day trip which was really great, but we left the next day). Wish they would have just given us credit toward another trip on this vacation (which we have already booked another one) because overall they were great. We will also be more prepared ourselves next time (and my husband never gets sick to his stomach so that was strange in itself...maybe something we ate the day before).

I would recommend the tour, Renato and Gloria were truly amazing. Keeping us entertained, shared so much about the culture, country and how real life in Madeira is. It is not a hiking tour, but more like "get to know Madeira" tour.
