Great way to see highlights of Madeira's Southwest and North Coast
A great way to see and experience the highlights of Madeira's Southwest and North coasts. Multiple stops at incredible vistas, a traditional market, the Fanal Forest, a north shore seaside town for lunch and an optional swim before two stops to view the North Shores highlights (rock formations and waterfalls) along with the famous black sand beach before heading back to Funchal.
And our driver Dinarte filled the windshield time with many interesting facts about Madeira's people, the food, agriculture and small interesting facts.
Gus small can is extremely comfortable for 8 guests - and very comfortable for the drive back to Funchal at the end of the day.
We really enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it!

Brilliant tour and nice coastal path hike!!!
I went on this trip solo and this trip was so accommodating. The driver was full of knowledge and took time to answer any questions. He waited for us after we stopped for sunrise (the van was lovely and warm) - a lot of other drivers of other tours didnt wait so this is why you should book this one. The time at each stop was reasonable, there was plenty of time to capture pictures, ask questions and enjoy each location. The hike was awesome, socialised with others on the tour while we all soaked in the beauty of Madeira. I would 100% recommend this excursion with your trip to Madeira to make it an awesome holiday :)

Grand day out.
Worthwhile trip visiting some interesting places and with amazing views. (Apart from up in the mountains where fog persisted)
Lionel our driver made the day with his good humour, expert knowledge and obvious passion for his native island.
Thank you for a great day! 😊

Nice way to spend an afternoon
Very informative. Takes you to several parts of the island that you couldn’t get to walking on your own. Guide is very responsive. Experience the local drink ( your cost) and the glass overlook where you can see for miles (again your cost).
The four wheel part of the excursion is on a road that isn’t a road. It is barely a track. You will be jarred to the bone for a few minutes. Some people find that exhilarating. Others not so much. If you are taking this tour, be prepared and be ready so you don’t sit and complain and ruin everyone else’s good time

A Great Personalized Tour
We really enjoyed our tour of Madeira, and our guide Sergio was extremely knowledgeable and fun. He knew when the big tour buses were going to go to the spots we were also going to, and timed it so we'd miss most of the big crowds. His van was very clean and well maintained, and with all the steep hills and windy roads, we were happy the brakes worked well! Sergio was happy to answer all our questions, and we learned not only about where we toured, but about how the people lived and worked in Madeira. We were lucky with the weather, which was a nice bonus for our day.

Incredible
What a fantastic trip, we saw bottle nose dolphins to start which was nice. Then the real excitement began when we saw a sperm whale breach in the distance, our driver sped in that direction and we were lucky enough to see a breach not more than 3m from our boat which was incredible.
Next there was a sperm whale swimming basically under our boat, she came up spyhopping to check us out before her calf came over as well, they were so close we could have touched them, it was incredible.
The passion and excitement showed by both our captain and the marine biologist was infectious, they were both so knowledgeable and so in awe of these awesome animals 100% would recommend

Walking tour of Old Town, Funchal
Elena (from Austria) took us on a 2 hour tour of the old town, Funchal. She was well informed, added some humour with a nice mix of history and local colour and invited us to ask questions. It was also great to know that these walking tours support student books and meals. Highly recommend. R&M

David was very flexible...
David was very flexible and adaptable as the weather was unfavourable (rain/wind/fog) and we were unable to do the hike. He took us to a different place to try to watch the sunrise, went on another walk with great views, and to a local coffee shop and poncha pub. He still showed us a great time even though we were unable to do the PR1 hike. Would definitely book with David again as we will be back to try the hike again! He made the day positive even though it was disappointing to not do the hike.

An unmissable spectacular experience
This was a stunning walk with some of the most spectacular scenery I have ever come across. It was well led by Martha. It was only 4.3 miles but it's a steep ascent of more than 2000 feet, so isn't easy. There is an option to get transported for the most difficult part. I'm 78 and was able to climb it without a problem. The final section to the Stairway to Heaven is a bit narrow and is a steep up and down and needs approaching with caution if you suffer with vertigo. I found it exciting and the views were worth it - just stunning.

Bruno was excellent,...
Bruno was excellent, picked us up from our Hotel and was very informative throughout the day. Lots of time at each stop to explore and his driving was brilliant and very comfortable considering the terrain of the roads. We were in a mini-bus with a total of 15 guests. Commentary was in English, French and Portuguese

A GREAT day out with Marco.
We highly recommend the East Tour and in particular Marco as the tour guide.
The tour was a fantastic experience and visually thrilling. Marco greatly heightened the experience with his knowledge of the Islands history, flora and fauna, politics, economics and gastronomy.
A great day out and a round of applause to Marco.

Peaceful and relaxing
Really enjoyed this walk not to much uphill the views were lovely and waterfalls beautiful, mostly undercover in the trees and along the levada my favourite was walking through the 800mtr tunnel opens up onto the most beautiful view of the sea with wild Lillies
Perfect way to finish the walk, thank you to Daria our guide who was very passionate and clearly loved her job
