Top Funchal Whale Watching

So relaxing and fun! Sheila and Liv took great care of us and were super friendly. They brought us all kinds of local treats to try and beverages. It was nice to have a smaller sized group and have room to move about on the boat. The captain kept us informed and jumped down to help me back on the boat after swimming. We were also able to see a group of pilot whales with babies! It was a lovely way to spend an afternoon and be pampered.

Great sights. When you get to town with the pools there are a lot of restaurants closer to the "non paid" pool. Our guide thought the pools that were non paid would be difficult to get in and out of but they were fine. They day we went it was rainy so we didn't see much of the forest. The waterfall stops were cool.

I got to book this excursion very last minute and thankfully it did not disappoint. We got to see sperm and pilot whales but not dolphins but that’s ok. I was visiting from Miami therefore not seeing dolphins was not a total bust and they can’t control wildlife to say the least so please keep an open mind. If you’re looking for a nice scenic trip with friends/family I definitely recommend this catamaran excursion. The crew was very nice, knowledgeable and I loved how they stopped the catamaran to remove plastic/garbage from the ocean that we saw along the way. Give them a try! You won’t be disappointed :)

From the moment we booked this trip on the Internet to when we met the staff correspondence was excellent. All the members of staff are friendly helpful and want you to have a good time. Highly recommend the Dolphin trip. It was a shame we didn’t see any dolphins, it was too windy and choppy but the staff made up for our disappointment with their friendliness and fun.
