The Cathedral is closed to visitors on Sundays and during religious ceremonies. Entrance to the Florence Cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore is fee and not applicable for any refund.
Please follow the dress code: clothing should cover the knees and shoulders; sandals, flip-flops, hats, and sunglasses are not permitted; bare shoulders, bare legs, sheath dresses, drawstring/tank tops, and revealing necklines are not allowed; and shorts or skirts must be knee-length or longer.

Don’t do it or get your tickets in hand in advance

Viator kept changing the times for our slot right before we were supposed to go in, from the original 10 am to various other slots…1230 to 130 to 230 and finally said we could not get in at all ; I called and spent 30 min on the phone with someone trying to get my money back only to be reminded over and over again that the excursion was nonrefundable, to which I responded that they need to get us in the same day and that they should not be accepting money and confirming appointments for which they don’t have slots; I refused to get off the phone until I actually saw tickets come through my email rather than just the voucher itself; Viator will send you a voucher, but they won’t send you the tickets up until the last minute. Make sure that you get your tickets. We finally ended up getting in at 2:30 but had to adjust other things on our schedule because of their mixup in communicating via the app for something like this is worth worthless so you should plan on getting on the phone for a while to get any issues resolved. It seems as if Viator will gladly accept your money and give you the impression of a confirms slot but not until you actually get tickets in hand can you be assured that the slot is really confirmed.
