Start your culinary experience with a tasting of a traditional focaccia appetizer accompanied by a glass of Chianti wine.
Next your chef-instructor shows you how to make pasta or pizza dough, and explains regional variations.
For pasta makers, roll up your sleeves and get to work creating three types of fresh pasta from scratch, and recreate iconic sauces including Pesto, Carbonara, Amatriciana and Cacio e Pepe.
For pizza makers, after preparing the dough, select the topping ingredients that you like from the assortment of fresh vegetables harvested from the estate gardens. Your pizza is then baked traditional-style in the wood oven.
For dessert, learn to make a creamy gelato that can be accompanied by toppings and sauces. When ready, sit down to enjoy the fruit of your labour accompanied by wine or beer.

This was probably the best cooking class I have taken in Italy. The setting was beyond wonderful. The demonstrations were good, the time learning how to do the prepping was good. The food was GREAT. Most of all everyone had a good time. The chefs love their job and their enthusiasm was appreciated. They made us laugh, too. Highly recommend this class.

Do this! Do not choose any other food tour! Do THIS one! It was the highlight of our trip to Florence. First our chefs/tour guides, Ivana and Alessia were fantastic. They were fun, funny, knowledgeable and kind. We chose the pasta and gelato class. The setting was in a lovely area of Tuscany, not far outside the city but surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. We met a lovely and fun group of people from Canada and Colorado. The dishes were delicious. - Cappelletto, filled with ricotta and the perfect amount of lemon with sage butter sauce. Amazing! The second was tagliatelle with a tomato sausage and delicious Tuscan sausage. I am not describing them as beautifully as they should be! Then gelato! We tried 7 flavors (we will have an hard time going back to ice cream!) and we learned a ton. Who knew gelato was so special!!!? Dark chocolate, pistachio, lemon, strawberry, hazelnut….. and invented in Tuscany! My husband keeps asking if the recipes have arrived in our email yet! Not yet, but hopefully soon because we want to try them at home for our family and friends. Thank-you to Ivana and Alessia and all the folks there who made this tour memorable. Salute from Mari and Doug - we cannot wait to receive the recipes!
Be aware there is a little bit of a walk from the meeting point to the bus that will take you to a drop off where there is another uphill climb to the final destination. It wasn't a problem for us and we are in our 80s, but just be aware there is some walking involved.
Otherwise, it is a very well organized culinary experience, and the chefs were outstanding and very entertaining as well as informative. If you like gelato and pizza, this is a must experience.
This was the highlight of our trip! Such a fun and memorable experience and the food was delicious. We loved it!!

What a treat! Our chefs kept things active, entertaining and created an evening to remember for my sister, me and our husbands. We loved the process of making pizza from scratch. The gelato was excellent. My husband and I made the cantaloupe. It was so delicious- even my husband liked it and he wasn't so sure about the flavor. My husband was a little dubious about the whole process, but quickly got on board due to the fun and crazy chefs leading out group!

We spent 15 days in Italy and this was one of the highlights even though we made pasta instead of pizza :). The setting was beautiful. The staff on site were such a joy. You could tell they had a real passion for what they did. We learned a lot and had so much fun making both pasta gelato!
My friend and I joined the pasta and gelato making classes. The experience was wonderful, providing even more than we had expected. Not only did we learn how to make some new recipes and have the opportunity to drink good wine and eat delicious food, we had fun doing that. Evana and the other instructors were friendly, personable, knowledgeable and very well organized. They put effort into their instruction and seemed to enjoy what they were doing. The facility was clean and inviting. The bus ride to and from our cooking destination was comfortable, informative and enjoyable. This was a day well spent.
Other travelers should know that the approximate Viator length of the experience is wrong. It says 5 hours, but the actual length was ~7 hours from pickup to drop off. Travelers should plan accordingly! For the event though, the hosts Costanza, Alenia, Letizia, and Gloria were WONDERFUL. We adored them, and we would recommend this experience for them, their expertise, and their hospitality alone.
Both the Pizza making and Gelato making classes were well orchestrated. The classes were informative, fun and tasty. The only issue we had was with the Gelato making you are supposed to measure exact amount of ingredients by weight. A number of us had electronic scales where the batteries or devise was not working properly and shut off during the weighing process. I would suggest checking the equipment on a regular basis to make sure things are working as they should. Overall, a fun experience and good cooking class!
From start to finish, the pizza and gelato class was so much fun! The setting at the farmhouse was beautiful. Not only were Aurora, Arla, and Tiziano great teachers, but they were also friendly, entertaining, and they kept the group engaged and laughing.
We learned a lot, the pizzas turned out great, and being able to try all of the different flavors of gelato that were made was awesome!
We had a wonderful evening with the whole group, and we would definitely recommend this outing!

The views were beautiful. The gelato and pizza instructors were GREAT! Ado was very knowledgeable on gelato and made it fun. “Tito” was fun and kept us entertained making pizza. The finished products of the pizza and gelato was one of my favorite meals in Florence. Best pizza on our trip so far! I would definitely do this again. So fun!

Tiziano, Arla, and Aurora, these three know how to host and teach you the art of pizza and gelato. They are so kind and they felt like family. I am so thankful to have booked this. Best night ever and we will talk about this forever. Unlimited beer, wine, water, make your own pizza the way you want it, and 14 different flavors of gelato. I already want to do this again. No other cooking class could come close to topping this one.

We had so much fun at this lovely farm looking out on the Tuscany scenery. Coco, Lodovik and Tiziano were so fun and energetic and made the night very special. The gelatos were all delicious and making/tossing our pizzas was very enjoyable as well. The transportation to and from was very comfortable and easy as well. Overrall a great night!!

The reviews dont lie! It was truly an experience I wont forget. From the start Luca had me laughing and he gave so much information in a way I could listen to him for a long time. Gloria and Loui were just as friendly and made me feel at home immediately. The two ladies that helped them were just as friendly. Never thought making pasta and gelato could be so easy and so much fun. Met some amazing people as well. After making the food we had the opportunity to eat what we made. 5 hours flew past so quickly. Definitely worth doing!

So glad we did this tour! Leaving Florence for just a little day trip was perfect. The bus ride was 45 minutes, but the experience was worth it. We had a lovely time. Carmela, Gloria and Beatrice made the experience feel so warm, inviting, and authentic. They were pure joy and we would highly recommend this tour, especially with them.

This was one of the best things we did in all of Italy. The staff was amazing. They worked as a team to make sure everything was run well, that we learned a lot about pizza making and gelato and they had an infectious energy that made all of us laugh and have a great time. Carmella is the sweetest nonna ever and my husband and I had a blast in this cooking class with her and all the ladies at Valigondola. We got to make two different types of pasta from scratch as well as various flavors of gelato (each pair makes one flavor that we all share and try for dessert). The experience was so much fun with singing, laughing, and lots of dancing. Carmella doesn’t speak a lick of English but you can understand everything she expresses so clearly and was such a delight to see in the kitchen. It really felt like a big family rather than a tour. The group size was perfect and the location of the Villa itself is gorgeous. Located right on top of a hill about 30 minutes outside of city center Florence, it had plenty of insta worthy views and quaint farm feels. We honestly would have stayed for the afternoon class too if we could have! Highly recommend this experience. Special shoutout to our guide, our gelato teacher and Carmella’s daughters for making the place so lively and fun.

Highly recommend this afternoon pizza and gelato class with Triziano (hope that spelling is right!), Max, and Ludwig. They easily accommodated for a pistachio allergy and vegetarians and kept the whole class on a great pace. The setting itself in the Tuscan countryside overlooking Florence was beautiful too and a nice break from the crowded city. The group was bigger than we expected (30 individuals) but they managed it well and it didn't feel like too many people.
We had an excellent time cooking pizza and making gelato. All 3 hosts, Max, Aris and Tiziano were incredible and made the experience. Highly recommend!!
