Itinerary
Make your way to the Piazza San Marco, where you’ll meet your guide. Walk right past the long lines at the Accademia Gallery, and visit one of the museum’s most iconic masterworks: the David, a longtime symbol of the small (but mighty) Florentine Republic. You’ll also have time to explore some of Michelangelo’s unfinished sculptures, The Slaves, which offer a fascinating insight into the artist’s creation process.
Continue to the Duomo Baptistry to see its famous doors, replicas of the originals. Learn stories about the members of the powerful Medici family that were baptized here, and see some of the Duomo’s exquisite artwork..
The next step is a once-in-a-lifetime experience: skip the lines for the Duomo Terraces, which are rarely open to the public. Once the guided portion of the tour ends on the terraces, you’ll have easy access to climb to the top of the dome, where your experience ends.

- Unfortunately due to the nature of this tour it is not suitable for guests with mobility impairments or with wheelchairs, or strollers.
- This is a walking tour. Guests should be able to walk at a moderate pace without difficulty.
- Due to security reasons, children under 7 years of age aren't allowed on this tour and minors under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.
- Your Duomo ticket is valid for 72 hours to explore the other Duomo monuments on your own: Opera Duomo Museum, Baptistery of San Giovanni, Crypt of Santa Reparata and Giotto's Tower.
- Please note: This tour offers multiple options. Take a moment to choose the one that best suits your interests.
- Bags of any kind are not permitted inside the Duomo due to safety regulations, as guests must climb narrow stairways to access the Terrace and Cupola.
- Please note that the Galleria dell’Accademia admission ticket (€24 per person) is included in the tour price (€20 admission ticket + €4 reservation fee).
- Please provide the full names of all travelers when booking. Failure to present a voucher with all travelers’ full names at the ticket office prior to entry may result in denied entry to the attraction.
- Each traveler (including children) must present a valid passport or ID document that matches the name provided at the time of booking for successful entry to the Accademia Gallery.
- On Sundays, we will not enter the Cathedral of Florence due to Sunday mass. The guide will provide an explanation of the Duomo from the outside. Additionally, entry will not be possible on exceptional days when the Cathedral is closed for liturgical ceremonies or special Duomo holidays; in those cases, your guide will provide the explanation from outside as well.

I loved the tour but was upset because just before leaving for the tour my husband became very ill and went to bed. I went to the meeting place and told the guide Greta and the Viator representative and they gave me an email address to inform you but it didn’t go through. They suggested that I take the tour by myself and ask for a refund for his ticket which I did. I would like a refund for just his ticket. Please advise. This was a situation beyond our control. It was frustrating because I didn’t know how to contact you and the guides were no help.
The two guides I talked to can verify my dilemma. Thank you. .
Our guide was amazing, however VIATOR sent us to the WRONG TOUR!!!!! WE were supposed to be on the VIP tour with being able to access the terrace and climb the duomo, we were actually on the best of Florence walking tour. I am very disappointed in Viator.
Well worth paying for skip the line. We got to see so much more and our guide was incredible so knowledgeable
This trip will take you outside of the city to see where the residents live and how beautiful the city is from above. We stopped at 3 special spots above the city for photos and got to see an area where people gather with live music and dancing. We would not have known about any of this without the tour. It was unique and lovely.
Loved it! Our guide was super knowledgeable - it was great to get background and history on the places we visited and the artwork that we saw on our tour.
It says we were going to see David and we didn’t. False advertisement! Long tour and only one trip inside a building. Very boring.
Informative. Would have liked to have walked up to the altar as it seems others were welcome to do so. Tour felt a little bit rushed. The guide could have done a better job welcoming herself and giving instructions as we were waiting for everyone to arrive.
Not sure why some of the guests were able to where shorts and others not.
Regina was incredible and so informative! I highly recommend the afternoon tour because we were able to tour Santa Maria del Fiore after it was closed to the public.

Brenda was an amazing tour guide. She was informative and added great little stories to bring to life what she was telling us. The time at the museum with David was great. Brenda was passionate and shared many details. The time at the Duomo was really unique. She shared details about the interior and then we climbed stairs to a private terrace. The views were great and we learned details about the exterior and restoration efforts. We have been traveling through Italy and Brenda is the best guide we have had so far.
Fabulous Tour! The pick-up location was easy. The Tour operators were easy to spot and checking in was efficient and fast. The sound equipment was very helpful with keeping our group together. Our knowledgable tour guide had us effortlessly move through the early morning crowds of people who surrounded David. We had many opportunities to take photos and still listen to her give a history of David, the other sculptures and artwork. Our VIP climb to the terrace was special. While others in our group climbed to the top of the dome, we chose to go back down and see the Crypt instead. Our lovely tour guide helped guide us to do the latter. Highly recommend this tour!
Our guide Ishmael was wonderful. He was informative, spoke very good English, and was engaging for the kids. The whole operation was well done with a perfect meeting spot that was easy to find.

What a lovely tour! Giada was an excellent guide. So knowledgeable, organized, and welcoming. Clear meeting instructions and an amazing tour packed full of information. We would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone wanting more out of their visit to beautiful Italy.
This does allow skipping the line for entrance to Accademia, Duomo and dome climb, which makes it well worth it. Plus private group access to the terrace.
It was well organized with 3 staff members doing check-in.

My Guide was very knowledgeable - but what everyone needs to understand is that you don't have to wait in line. That is the best bang for the buck.

I appreciated all of the historical context and background Elena provided before getting up close to David. And the trek up all of those steps to the tippy top of the Duomo is absolutely worth it!
Such a bonus to have skip the line tickets!! Lines were so long and we were very grateful! It's overwhelming the beauty of the sculptures. Just mind blowing actually! We learned the secrets of marble and green demands of Michelangelo. What a gift he was to the world!!

Elenora was a wonderful guide. Her knowledge is vast and the information was presented in a way that could be understood by everyone. You can tell that she is passionate about art and Florence, and it was infectious - we became enthusiastic about it too.
The tour itself is well worth the cost. Skipping the queues and having access to areas that few people get to made the experience very special.
FAN-TAS-TIC tour! Angelo was an incredible guide. He was engaging, funny, animated and overflowing with knowledge. We learned more from him in 3 hours than we did reading countless websites about Michelangelo and the Duomo. The pace was perfect, he expertly wrangled us from point to point and the headsets were awesome. We could clearly hear every word. Please note, these are truly skip-the-line tickets. We never waited for more than 2 minutes. Without question, one of the best tours we've ever taken. Highly recommend!
Sara is the best!! We had an early morning tour but Sara's great energy and unmatched enthusiasm for all things Florence made the tour truly engrossing. Walking across the Duomo was breathtaking and Sara brought the David to life. Highly recommend!
My guide was Dutch. I forgot his name as I am doing this after my travel and lost my note. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. It was one the best guides I had in my travels, he was really, really knowledgeable!
