Anastasia was wonderful and animated and made the tour very fun and interesting. She made the experience come alive.
Brian_W, Jul 2026
We were able to climb the 463 steps to the top and it was a butt-kicker! It was warm and not a trek for those with health conditions.
Alessandra was a great guide and even though we wouldn't describe ourselves as museum people, we loved the museum part. There was air conditioning (!!!!!) , and it was very interesting. She told us all about the Duomo doors, and we learned a lot about history.
Carolyn_S, Jul 2026
The guide was very informative and funny. She was able to roll with the punches after a shaky start due to some confusion that had nothing to do with her. Had we not taken the tour we would’ve blindly walked into the Duomo and the cathedral, not knowing nearly as much as we knew. It’s important though to understand what you’re getting with the tour. That’s what the confusion seemed to be with some of the people in our group. They thought they just could go into the Duomo anytime in the cathedral anytime not understanding that they couldn’t just jump the line because they bought tickets that we still had a time slot to enter.

Débora was amazing guide! Full of knowledge and with an amazing sense of humour!!!! We just loved the experience and the climb is so worth it! The views up there are breathtaking and the art, oh the art! Beautiful and highly recommended experience! It’s a must!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Your title is brilliant - "Art with a view, the view of the art!" 😊
Thank you for such an enthusiastic review! I'll make sure Debora sees your kind words. Her combination of knowledge and humor is exactly what makes the experience so special.
And you're absolutely right: standing just inches from the frescoes before stepping out to those breathtaking views is something you'll never forget.
Thank you for the wonderful recommendation. It means the world to us, and we hope to welcome you back to Florence someday!

So the top of the dome is a beautiful view…getting up those steps in the heat was rough. I am 49, in ok shape and I knew it would be hard. The guide went up those stairs like it was a race. I had to stop and catch my breath several times. If I was walking up at a slower pace, I would have been fine.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for sharing your experience and for your honest feedback.
I'm so glad you made it to the top and that you felt the view was worth the effort! 😊
I'm sorry to hear the pace of the climb felt too fast for you. We always encourage our guides to adapt to the group as much as possible while also respecting the monument's one-way route and the flow of visitors inside the Dome. Guests should absolutely feel comfortable taking a moment to catch their breath whenever needed.
We really appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we'll be sure to share your feedback with the team.
Thank you again for choosing to experience the Duomo with us, and we hope the incredible view is the part that stays with you the longest!

Such an informative amazing trip. We learned so much and much better than trying to see this on your own without the benefit of a tour guide.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Grazie mille Sara!
One of the best parts of a guided tour is discovering the stories and details that are so easy to miss when visiting on your own. I'm delighted to hear it made such a difference to your experience.
Thank you for choosing to explore the Duomo with us, and for taking the time to share your kind words. We truly appreciate it!

Fantastic Duomo experience many thanks for all it was a phenomenal majestic trip getting up to the top
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Ciao Lawrence!
Reading your review brought a smile to my face.
"Phenomenal" and "majestic" are wonderful words to describe the experience - and I couldn't agree more. There's something unforgettable about standing at the top of Brunelleschi's masterpiece and looking out over Florence.
Thank you for sharing your experience, and for choosing to climb the Dome with us!

Jeffrey_R, Jul 2026
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and had a real passion for the history. The best part was climbing up to the top of the Duomo. The climb was not difficult and surprisingly not very hot given the extremely high outside temperatures during the heat wave (the stairwell was much cooler than outside). The only thing worth noting was that our tour guide got annoyed with a few of the other tour guests when they were not that into the history (I.e., she expected folks to pay attention to her tour). Lastly, we were surprised that the Viator summary did not tell us in advance about the dress code (shoulders and knees must be covered) for parts of the tour. This was clearly stated in other tours (e.g. the Vatican). Fortunately, there was a vending machine near buy to purchase items to cover up appropriately.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you Jeffrey for taking the time to leave such a balanced and thoughtful review.
I'm really pleased you enjoyed the tour and found the climb more comfortable than expected, even during the heatwave! It's also wonderful to hear that your guide's passion for Florence's history came through.
Thank you as well for your constructive comments. We always encourage our guides to create an engaging experience while being mindful that every guest enjoys tours differently, so your feedback is appreciated and will be shared with the team.
Regarding the dress code, you're absolutely right that it's important information. We include it on the product page and also send it again with our pre-tour instructions, but we'll continue looking for ways to make it even more visible so guests can prepare with confidence.
Thank you again for choosing to explore the Duomo with us, and we hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Florence!

Our guide was like a professor I had in college. A master of her topic and fielded many questions with knowledge and education. She worked to help straighten out the ticket hiccups. Forgive me as I dont recall her name but a Fantastic guide. Viator has always provided quality experiences the produce lifetime memories.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you Ward for your thoughtful review.
I'm sorry your trip started with so many travel hiccups - sometimes those days seem to snowball. I'm especially grateful that, despite the ticket issue, your guide was able to help get everything back on track.
I smiled at your comparison to your college professor! 😊 Knowing she could answer every question and turn a stressful situation into a memorable experience is exactly what we hope for.
Thank you as well for your continued trust in Viator and for choosing to explore Florence with us. We hope the rest of your journey was much smoother!

Kylie_G, Jul 2026
Booked this so we could do the Dome climb because the regular tickets were sold out. Dome climb was so worth it, but the guided tour portion before was also very informative and enjoyable. Highly recommend!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Grazie mille Kylie!
I love your title because it captures exactly what we hope guests discover.
Many people book for the Dome climb, then leave saying the guided tour was an unexpected highlight. The climb is unforgettable, but understanding the history and artistry beforehand makes reaching the top even more meaningful.
Thank you for your recommendation, and for taking the time to share your experience. We truly appreciate it!

Interesting tour thru the Brunelleschi duomo in Florence, one of the main attractions in the city besides the food, wine, and shopping. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and kept things going at a good pace. This was followed by a challenging climb up almost 500 narrow stair steps to the top of the duomo and a 360 degree spectacular view of the city. We were in a heatwave so it was too hot outside to really enjoy the climb or view but it's good to know we made it to the top. The climb was slowed by people stopping at the worst times in claustrophobia inducing sections of the stair wells. The attendants need to do a better job of controlling traffic flow, but tourists will be tourists.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Ciao Dan!!
Grazie for such a thoughtful and honest review!
You certainly picked a memorable time to climb - with a heatwave on top of nearly 500 steps! Congratulations on making it all the way up. 💪
We're also happy to hear you enjoyed the guided portion of the experience. As for the climb, the flow inside the Dome is managed entirely by the monument staff, and on especially busy days it can slow down when visitors pause in the narrower sections. We really appreciate your understanding.
Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope your next visit to Florence comes with a little cooler weather!

Wonderful experience with Christian. He was very descriptive with his history of the Doumo. What a climb and view!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you Anne!
"What a climb and what a view!" pretty much sums up the Dome experience!
I'm so pleased you enjoyed your tour with Christian. He has a great way of bringing the history of the Duomo to life, and I'll make sure he sees your kind words.
Thank you for sharing your experience, and for choosing to explore Florence with us!

This is a significant climb so try to go in the morning before it gets too hot. Our guide was very well informative and gave us the history of the the basilica and all of its historical facts. She was great.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Grazie Benjamin!
I think you've shared one of the best tips for future visitors - an early morning climb is definitely the way to go, especially in the summer!
I'm so pleased you enjoyed the tour and that your guide helped bring the history of the Duomo to life before the climb.
Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience. We really appreciate it!

We did the climb in mid-morning on a day where temp was to be 40C! The climb was hot and stifling but still worth the effort. There is no stopping so having a knowledgeable guide to educate on history is very helpful. The volume of tourists forces continuous flow through the dome. You will get very short time to enjoy view and pictures. The knowledge of our guide and his clear speaking were a great benefit.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Grazie mille John!
Climbing the Dome on a 40°C day definitely deserves a badge of honor! 😎
Thank you for sharing such an honest and balanced review. You're absolutely right -the climb follows a continuous one-way route managed by the monument. While there are a few wider sections where you can briefly catch your breath, the steady flow of visitors means longer stops aren't possible. That's why we believe having a knowledgeable guide beforehand makes such a difference, adding context that stays with you throughout the climb.
I'm delighted to hear your guide's clear explanations made the experience even more rewarding.
Thank you again for taking on the challenge and for sharing your experience with future travelers!

Worth the effort to climb the many steps. This tour is a great way to explore the duomo in Florence!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Buongiorno Carol!
Sometimes the best views ask for a little effort first!
Thank you for your kind review. I'm so pleased you felt the climb was worth it and that the tour helped you experience the Duomo in a meaningful way.
Enjoy the memories - and hopefully your legs have recovered by now! 😊

Very informative and worth it completely! The tour started with the Baptistry, went into the Museum, and concluded with the climb.
Camilla was an excellent host and guide - good sense of humor and pace.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Two thumbs up from you Jonan - we'll happily take that!👍👍
I'm so pleased you enjoyed the flow of the tour, from the Baptistery and Museum to the grand finale at the top of the Dome.

Camilla was a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable and engaging. Not having to wait in the long lines in the hot sun was well worth the price.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for your lovely review Natalie!
Florentine summers can certainly be warm, so I'm really pleased your reserved access made the day that much more enjoyable.
I'll make sure Camilla sees your kind words. Her ability to make history engaging while keeping everything running smoothly is something we're very proud of.
Thank you for choosing to explore the Duomo with us, and for taking the time to share your experience!

Our Tuscany day trip from Florence to Siena, San Gimignano, and Pisa was absolutely unforgettable and one of the highlights of our entire trip to Italy.
Each destination offered something unique. Siena’s medieval charm and Piazza del Campo were incredible, San Gimignano was like walking through a beautifully preserved medieval village, and Pisa was much more than just the Leaning Tower—it was a wonderful place to explore with stunning architecture and history.
What truly made this experience exceptional was our guide, Elessandro. His knowledge extended far beyond the history and facts of each destination. He shared the stories, traditions, culture, and local perspectives that brought every place to life in a way that made us feel genuinely connected to Tuscany. His passion for the region was contagious, and he answered every question with enthusiasm and insight.
More importantly, Elessandro took the time to get to know us on the tour. He connected with us on a personal level, making us feel welcomed, comfortable, and valued throughout the day. By the end of the tour, it honestly felt like we weren’t just saying goodbye to a guide—we were saying goodbye to a new friend. That personal connection made the experience truly memorable.
We also want to recognize our driver, Christof, whose professionalism and attention to detail made the day seamless from beginning to end. The van was always waiting for us exactly where it needed to be, making every pickup and drop-off effortless. In the Tuscan summer heat, Christof thoughtfully had the air conditioning running before we boarded, ensuring the vehicle was always cool and comfortable after each stop. These small details made a big difference throughout the day.
Most importantly, Christof made us feel completely safe throughout the journey. Whether navigating the winding roads of the Tuscan countryside or the busy highways between destinations, he drove with confidence, care, and professionalism. We were able to relax, enjoy the spectacular scenery, and fully immerse ourselves in the experience because we knew we were in excellent hands.
The winery lunch was another highlight. The food was delicious, the wines were fantastic, and the beautiful vineyard setting created the perfect Tuscan experience. Combined with the breathtaking scenery throughout the countryside, it was a day we’ll never forget.
This tour is outstanding because of the incredible teamwork between Elessandro and Christof. Their professionalism, kindness, and genuine care for us elevated what would have been a wonderful sightseeing tour into a truly unforgettable experience. We left not only with amazing photos and lifelong memories, but also feeling that we had made new friends along the way.
If you’re considering a day trip through Tuscany, don’t hesitate to book this tour. It’s exceptionally well organized, offers incredible value, and if you’re fortunate enough to have Elassandro as your guide and Christof as your driver, you’re in for an experience you’ll remember long after your vacation ends.

Response from Host, Jun 2026

A morning climb is definitely a smart choice, especially during the warmer months, and I'm glad you found the 463 steps more manageable than expected.

Thanks for the recommendation, and for sharing your experience!

Response from Host, Jun 2026

I think your guide was Debora 😄, and I'll make sure she sees your kind words. She has a wonderful way of sharing Florence's history while giving everyone that extra bit of confidence when the climb feels a little daunting.
The views have a way of making people forget about those 463 steps, at least once they reach the top! 😉
Thanks again for sharing your experience—it means a lot to us.

There a lot of steps so take it slow. Im 69 and made it.to the top. 25 steps at a time. The view is spectacular.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
I love your strategy Thomas - 25 steps at a time!
That's actually great advice for future visitors. The Dome isn't a race, and taking it at your own pace makes reaching the top even more rewarding.
Congratulations on making it all the way up, and thank you for reminding everyone that the spectacular view is worth every step.
We really appreciate you sharing your experience! 🙏

Wonderful way to experience Florence’s gem of the Duomo, we would have missed so many details in the Babistry, Duomo & Doumo Museum we would have walked right by including masterpiece’s from Michelangelo. Ability for priority entrances to Dome climb, Giotto’s Bell Tower, Museum & Babistry. Our Florentian host was a wealth of information in a proud & fun environment for learning, even our twin 16 year old’s enjoyed learning, who knew 🤪, would highly recommend to all 🇮🇹❤️🇮🇹
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Grazie mille Jeff!!
This was such a fun review to read - especially the part about your twin 16-year-olds enjoying the history. Now that's an achievement! 😬
One of the biggest joys of a guided visit is discovering all the details you'd otherwise walk right past, so I'm thrilled that made such a difference for your family.
I'll be sure to share your kind words with your guide Anastasia. Creating an atmosphere where people can learn, laugh, and leave with a deeper appreciation of the Duomo is exactly what we strive for.
Thank you for the recommendation, and thank you for spending part of your family's Florence adventure with us! 🇮🇹❤️
