The tour includes a stroll through Findlay Market, Ohio's oldest, discussing its historical significance. Also, outside the Rhinegeist Brewery, you can learn about the building's role in Cincinnati’s 19th-century beer scene.
Conclude your beer-themed explorations by accessing the tunnels beneath the closed Jackson Brewery, followed by a beer tasting at Northern Row Brewery for guests 21 and over, or a soft drink for younger travelers.

Wear good walking shoes. Be comfortable with steep stairs. Request Miranda she is a great tour guide. Very enthusiastic.

Great tour, interesting and well paced. Northern Row is an EXCELLENT place to enjoy a number of beverages they make on site. The 'tasting' of the tour was a pour of the beer of your choice, rather than what I'd call a tasting, but it was great nonetheless.

Our group really enjoyed the tour, definitely worth the visit! The caverns were so interesting as well as the brewing history of the OTR area. There are several breweries in the area you can walk to and overall a nice area to spend the day.

We are locals. This was an amazing tour! Our guide, Miranda was incredible, funny, engaging and has a brilliant talent of remembering every guests name. My husband and I agree she is the best tour guide we’ve ever had.
The tour starts at the brewery, then we took a short walk past Finley market to the entrance of the cave. Getting to the cave requires walking down 2 flights of stairs. Once in the cave the ground is a little uneven and may be difficult for someone with balance issues or needs the assistance of a cane or walker. Miranda told us stories of Cincinnati and its love of beer. I highly recommend taking this tour when visiting Cincinnati or even more if you are a local. The number of caves under our city will surprise you! At the end of the tour the group returned to the brewery where we received a wooden nickel. You’ll have to take the tour to understand the value of a wooden nickel. Cheers!

The tour was great, even our kids loved it (11 & 14)! Miranda was a phenomenal tour guide and kept us laughing the whole time.
Amber_A, Mar 2026
You should be able to stand and walk on uneven flooring safely. Had an absolutely wonderful time with my family to celebrate my 50th. Highly recommend even for a local.
Savannah_W, Mar 2026
Harrison was a great tour guide! Wonderful experience and learned lots of cool stuff about the city we live in.
Crisanthos_G, Mar 2026
Very informative tour about the local history. If there is a chance of rain bring a umbrella. Laura was funny, informative and welcoming guide

Learning the history of beer making in Cincinnati’s Over-The-Rhine district while visiting several landmarks, and then literally stepping back in time to wander through a historic beer cavern was an amazing experience! Our guide, Miranda, put her knowledge, wit, humor, and love for the city on full display, making the tour even more fun. If you have ever wondered what could be hiding 30 feet below the old brewery buildings, or how Over-The-Rhine got its name, this tour is for you! Who knows, you might even glimpse a ghost or two along the way.

My wife and I were looking for a historical tour to learn more about Cincinnati's beer history. Our tour guide, Miranda, not only gave us a masterful lesson on the city’s rich brewing heritage, she also drew us into the cavern's darker, hidden past—complete with Prohibition bootlegging, corpse raiding for the medical school, and lingering ghosts said to haunt the tunnel depths.
Miranda is a city treasure and a protective guardian of Cincinnati's history, both subterranean and aboveground. We would recommend the tour wholeheartedly to anyone curious about the city's history. (Just avoid the haunted spirits in tunnel #1.)
