Get familiar with Cincinnati’s storied brewing and distilling heritage on this small-group tour of the Brewing Heritage Trail. Starting at the Northern Row Brewery and Distillery, learn how spirits are distilled before sampling a few for yourself. Next, head to the historic Jackson Brewery lagering cellars where beer was fermented and cold-stored as far back as the 1850s. Finally, tour the Rhinegeist Brewery, located inside a pre-prohibition brewing structure.

This tour begins at Northern Row Brewery & Distillery, please head inside the taproom and look for the Brewing Heritage Trail "Tour Check-in" sign near the main entrance. Your tour guide will be there approximately 15 minutes before the tour is scheduled to begin.

Great historic information given during this tour. Lots of great details and overall fun tour. The distillery and brewery were both great and seeing the tunnels were very cool too. Very glad we did this tour, it was a great time.

The tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the subject. He was funny and time and well-prepared, but the tour was far too long—it should have been capped at 1.5 hours. There was a lot of standing around and listening to lengthy explanations, which felt more like a lecture. A little less talking and more engagement would have made the experience better. Offering something interactive, like a local beer to sample during the talks, could help break up the monotony.

We were worried when we were joined by a bachelorette party but Jim made it work for all of us. The beer cellars provided a unique opportunity to view Cincinnati brewery history

I think with a different tour guide, this would have been a more enjoyable experience.
Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Cincinnati, but because of that, would digress to stories regarding other breweries or historical figures or locations that did not relate to the specific locations on tour, and would often repeat things or talk in circles. Perhaps for someone native.to the city, this would have been more interesting
The tour went over a full 40 minutes, so by the time we made it to Rhinegeist, I felt very rushed for time. I didn't want to ask any questions I actually had about the brewery because I feared a long winded answer and more time hold up.
I would recommend the guides implement a stricter tour script.
The flight sampling at Northern Row included 3 spirits, but not much information regarding flavors or how they are made, which I was intrigued to hear. The flight at Rhinegeist had very little introduction or information regarding the 4 sample beers, and it was very loud in the brewery sitting are, without any sort of reserved room for tasting, so it was disappointing. You're better off visiting on your own, booking a tour directly with rhinegeist when you arrive, and picking your own flight afterward

great tour of historical buildings and learning about the brewing and distilling processes. Going down in the underground tunnels was really cool. We had a fun group, great conversation. The beer is good. The spirits are great. it was a thoroughly enjoyable day.

It was a great tour! Informative and laid back. We got to speak with the director some before the tour, he gave us a rundown of what we would be doing, but also told us about the other upcoming events they had planned. The tour guide was fun and knew her stuff, kept it light and fun, not boring and dry. Start to finish we have no complaints.

I highly recommend this tour. It was about 2 and 1/2 hours, the tour guides were fantastic! It was a very enjoyable 3 location tour of Cincinnati brewing and distilling. The locations were close together so there wasn't an extreme amount of walking to do, but there were some stairs, and some uneven terrain, so take that in mind if that would be a challenge for you.
