This experience exposes you to the history of the city and gives explanation for a lot of the things you see daily in Charlotte. Peyton was very knowledgeable and did a great job guiding us through each area of Uptown. She was engaging and answered questions along the way.

This is a delightful way to learn about Charlotte. You will learn interesting things about its beginnings, developing history and culture as well as current “day of” happenings!
It is comfortable and unique!

Several missed opportunities to acknowledge the proud history of African Americans, specifically in the 2nd Ward.

As our driver explained, we have an African American historical tour and she could not totally take over that tour on a regular historical tour. However, our regular tour definitely touches base in the African American history as well how Charlotte was named, etc. It is a well rounded historical tour that is well known to be one of the most in-depth tours around. The African American historical tour goes deeper into that if you would like to book that one. I do feel that it’s unfair to pick a tour and give it a low star because it wasn’t like the other we offer that you didn’t pick. Our regular tour is well rounded with as much history that we can fit in for 1-1/2 hours. We were even complemented by a group recently for the diversity included. We do hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Charlotte.

This was one of the best city tours we have taken. Jeff was a great guide and going around the city in a golf cart was new and fun! We made several stops and had lots of photos opps. Highly recommend, two thumbs enthusiastically up!

The tour hide was amazing and very thorough. I brought my 3 month old baby with me and the tour hide was extremely kind and patient with us which made the experience that much better! My baby ended up falling asleep (which he normally does during car rides) so I was able to enjoy the tour without stress.

We do have a roof and most of it is in shaded area but it’s a hot day for sure. Grab a cold fruit water for discount from the market to help you feel refreshed discounted for riding with us. We are glad you enjoyed. Thank you for a good review

Our first time trying to get sites in. We sat in the last seats that face on coming traffic. They do not have the same shade cover as those facing forward. With the road noice and no microphone in use, we needed to have our necks completely turned the entire time. Not to mention you are facing the moving vehicles the entire time making it difficult for pictures and enjoy the tour as we thought.

We typically have five star reviews, odd the past 24 hours has been different but same tour guides for years with five stars. Your tour guide offered you a forward facing seat a few times during the tour. Also he paused when a truck went by so that the noise wasn’t an issue and stopped at several locations for pictures. We are sorry to hear you had a less than positive experience. As in our advertisement, it’s a golf cart and almost all golf carts have rear seats. Some love those and some don’t. Also there is no way to make sure the sun never shines on you but our roof does extend the entire length and the majority of the tour is under shade which is something we point out with all the trees uptown. The driver you had or any of them typically are well heard. We also try to see from the side. For anyone wanting to book, it’s typically pleasant all around. We stop and get off for pictures and if anything is bothersome please let us know. If outside isn’t your thing, we also have a mini bus that we also get off for pictures. People love the cart but keep in mind it is a golf cart. If ever you need additional accommodations, please let us know. We don’t know if you don’t tell us and I would much rather know so we can fix it right there. That’s why we are southern charm.

Don’t expect the golf cart. It’s easy for them to take the bus. If it’s cloudy at all be prepared to take the bus.
Our tour guide did an excellent job describing the area, was super knowledgeable of the history and I would highly recommend him.

To say don’t expect a cart is almost comical as our carts are seen throughout the city all the time. That was the first day in three months that we didn’t have a cart out all day that we were open. You were also notified ahead of time that due to weather it was bus and never called about that being an issue. I am a former EMT and when bad storms are coming, safety for my customers is priority. The weather indicated much more than just cloud coverage. We rarely replace with the bus but if there is a heavy rainfall with a weather warning, we will use the bus as the website states. People usually appreciate that so they are not soaked and still enjoy and some don’t but I have realized you can’t please everyone so we do only if absolutely necessary. Nobody had their carts out due to the weather that day.. We have four carts so using one isn’t an issue. We did just what we advertised. We cannot put anyone at risk with a storm warning out and the radar showing RED (more than just clouds)., again as stated on our site. We are glad you enjoyed your tour guide

My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful time on this tour. It was our first time in Charlotte. We stayed downtown for a concert and wanted to get an overview of the city and its history, and this tour was perfect. In fact, afterwards, we even then went to dinner at one of the restaurants mentioned by our guide (Mert's- highly recommend). It was also the perfect length and had a great combination of history, architecture, and general knowledge about the city. It also gave us several great ideas for what to do on our next trip to this wonderful city. Definitely recommend.

Josh was an amazing guide! He gave so much history and guidance about Charlotte in such a short amount of time.
All 3 of our party are so happy we chose to do our tour with Southern Charm. The cart was comfortable and, though a couple of us have hearing difficulties, we were able to clearly hear and understand everything Josh said.
One of our group has lived in a suburb for 10 months and wishes she had booked this sooner! She got a wealth of information.

We've told him, he needs to write the tour guide for this experience and I think you would be wise to employ him to train others if you have not already! This job needs the gifting and intellect of one like Tremain to keep people coming back or passing on the experience! You are sitting in a golf cart and if you are seated towards the back, it is hard to hear and you are turned to your side and is uncomfortable.

We are glad you enjoyed your tour. We typically show most everything from the side view but if you ever tour again, you can call ahead and request certain seats and just ask the driver to speak up. Normally everyone can hear well but could have been a noisy time here and there that day. We can use a microphone if it’s too noisy, thank you for letting us know. Thank you for leaving a good review

Our jaunt with Southern Charm Rides was what I was hoping for in a guided tour. Our tour guide, Josh, was excellent. Riding around “uptown” mid morning on a business day, seemed so comfortable like everything was revolving around us to take in the adventure. Very informative. Showing and explaining hidden features that no way I would have caught on too on my own. One of my favorites was when we exited the uptown area, right when we started going down hill into a nice treed residential neighborhood; and I mean within the first hundred feet from the previous commercial intersection, how quiet the area became. Josh mentioned the phenomenon just in passing as he was introducing the next phase of the tour. And for someone who has worked outside most of my career I had never noticed or experienced something like that. Thanks Josh. If the opportunity arises I/we would definitely do this again.
