Well worth doing as alternative to ship excursion. Left at 7am and arrived at Sachsenhausen at 10, with guide Nick, extremely knowledgeable. Small group always on time and back to ship before 7pm.

This is an extremely well-run excursion. Moving. A profound experience. Our tour guide Nick is phenomenal. We would recommend this tour to everyone. We learned so much about the horrific activities at Sachsenhausen. Our family member was an American soldier taken prisoner elsewhere in Germany. He could hardly speak about the inhumanity. He recuperated for one year under medical care and convalesced for two more with his parents taking care of him.

You walk about 4 miles on this one. Some stairs and uneven terrain. Very informative ! We are glad we did it. Our tour guide was Nick. He’s fantastic.
Rachelle_S, Jun 2026
We were privileged to have Nick as our guide. Nick was the best tour guide we have had. He is informative, pleasant, knowledgeable… and provided us with so much interesting details along the way. We all learnt so much. It was an extraordinary experience, thank you. Giving this experience 20 stars out of ten.

We stopped at the concentration camp on the way to Berlin so this was our first stop on the tour. There was so much that I never knew about the camps prior to Auschwitz. I was a little shook by the atrocities I heard, and saw .This stop tells another story that most of us know nothing about. Our guides name was Walid and he was phenomenal. He knew so much about everything, whether it be the camps, or all the history from each attraction on out tour. We spent about 8 hours with our guide and he was more than we could have hoped for. After leaving the camp it was a somber mood on the bus but our guide kept us on the edge of our seat for more knowledge. Be prepared for up and down the steps of the bus to physically walk and see all Berlin has to offer. I think we had ample time everywhere we stopped and bathrooms were free in the places he took us. Also, there are very little shopping opportunities for souvenirs unless you grab something at Checkpoint Charlie. That is where our stop was for lunch and shopping but there was only 30 to 40 minutes given. Their main goal is to give you all of their knowledge and get you back to the ship without worry of missing it. We left promptly at 8:30 a.m. and returned back to the ship about 8:15 p.m. I would recommend this tour to anyone coming to Berlin wanting to know everything from the Good, Bad, and The Ugly.

Fantastic tour! Learnt a lot about the history of Berlin. Walid was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to learn the rich history of Berlin.

Nick was an excellent guide. He was knowledgeable about the history of the Sachsenhauen. Visiting this place will not easily be forgotten. Berlin has alot of history to absorb and 1 day is not enough.
Sheila_L, Aug 2025
Very little (10 minutes) time at the Holocaust museum in Berlin. It was really a restroom stop. I would have appreciated a little less time at the Holocaust Monument and more time at the Museum.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Dear Sheila,
Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We’re delighted to hear you found the tour very informative. At the same time, we completely understand your disappointment with the limited time at the Holocaust Museum. Balancing the schedule on such a full-day tour can be challenging, but your suggestion about adjusting the time between the Holocaust Memorial and the Museum is very valuable and something we will carefully consider.
We truly appreciate your feedback and hope we’ll have the chance to welcome you again in the future for an even more rewarding experience.
Warm regards,
Natalia

Wonderful day, bus ride was long however the guide was outstanding. Our driver got us everywhere we needed to go in the busy traffic. Guide knew his stuff and was able to give us back ground info that we didn’t know and get. Us into out of the way bathroom stops without line that didn’t charge you to use them.
Lisa_W, Jul 2025
Our tour of Sachsenhausen and Berlin was fabulous. Our guide Nick was so knowledgeable about the Nazi regime and all of the atrocities that occurred. He used his tablet to show the way the places looked back then so it was easier for us to imagine what occurred.
Tana_A, Jul 2025
Nick was the best tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the tour we took. He explained in detail about the various sites we visited. I would highly recommend this tour.
HEIDI_M, Jul 2025
Nick was the best tour guide we ever had. He was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to answer any question asked of him. He knew things about the area that were interesting and not in any normal literature. He had a tablet and showed us pictures before and after WW2 and then took us to those places now. His expertise is unmatched.
Bonnie_E, Jul 2025
The bus was at the port and well identified. The bus was very comfortable and spacious. The tour guide met us in Berlin. He was patient and very knowledgeable.
Scott_T, Jun 2025
Well worth the money. One of the only options to see the camp and Berlin in one trip from the cruise portal. Guides are knowledgeable and bus was not overcrowded unlike the cruise ships like tour options which we greatly appreciated for the amount of time it takes to get to and from Berlin.
Carol_R, Jun 2025
Our tour guide Walid was very informative and knowledgeable. We saw a lot of Berlin and learned of the history. We also got to learn a bit about Sachsenhausen and see some of the concentration camp.
TrucBao_B, Jun 2025
Our tour guide, Campbell, was funny & informative. He was great at his job, telling us all about Sachsenhausen in so little time & all about German history. One of the best tour guides. Our driver, Ule, was also amazing. I liked that he was careful of all the motorists & bicyclists on the street. A very funny person as well! Overall, the tour was fun. I wish that we had more time to explore Berlin however. They only gave us one hour to eat & shop for souvenirs. The bus was clean & had good legroom. Seats were kind of stiff. They had an espresso machine on board, but I do not know if it worked. No one used it. There were also curtains, but in certain seats you cannot reach them. Would recommend this tour if you love history & can handle sitting for long periods!

This was an excellent, professional tour from start to finish. We were met by Vexperio staff immediately upon exiting the cruise terminal and were directed to our bus which was clean and spacious. The trip to Berlin took about three hours included a rest stop along the way. Our guide, Walid, joined us at Sachsenhausen and provided an excellent tour of the history and workings of the camp. From there, we drove to Berlin and proceeded to see many significant sights both on foot and by bus. A short break was provided for lunch as well. Overall, an outstanding tour. We arrived back at the cruise terminal at the designated time.

Waleed was an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable and provided lots of information and stories, very personable. Only drawback was not enough time at the concentration camp (not his fault) Berlin was a beautiful city. If I get the opportunity to return I would hire Waleed for a personal tour .
Melanie_K, Jun 2025
Walid was a great tour guide and provided a lot of knowledge and the flow of the tour was great! There was plenty of time to grab a bite to eat, look around, and take photos during the tour. The drive is obviously long, so be prepared for that part with snacks and drinks if you choose for the ride there and back.
Christine_O, May 2025
This tour was Amazing!!! Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. We saw everything and didn’t feel rushed.
Paul_R, May 2025
Our guide , Nick, joined us at Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp and stayed with us to Berlin.
His commentary at Sachsenhausen was detailed and informative and delivered with great sensitivity.
His tour of Berlin was given through his lived experience of change and drew upon his vast historical knowledge.
His tour was efficient and well timed and allowed for a great experience and photographs.

This was an experience of a life time. Our family with teenagers found the concentration camp and whole tour extremely facinating. Nick Jackson was an awesome.
Tina_H, Oct 2024
Too much time driving from site to site. We had to skip our last couple of stops and just do a drive by in order to get to the boat on time. It would have been better just to stop in one stop and walk to a few Berlin sites than to try and see them all. Not worth the time. I would rather do a tour with just Berlin or just sachsenhousen than to try to do both in one day.
Response from Host, Oct 2024
Dear Tina,
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the tour didn’t fully meet your expectations, and we appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the schedule.
As this is a highlights tour, our goal is to provide an overview of both Berlin and Sachsenhausen, covering as many essential stops as possible in the limited time we have. We understand that this can make the pace feel rushed, especially with the time spent traveling between sites. For guests seeking a more in-depth experience or a relaxed pace, we also offer private tours that can be customized to focus solely on Berlin or Sachsenhausen. These options allow for more time at each location and can be tailored to suit individual interests.
We hope that despite the time constraints, you were still able to enjoy some of the incredible history and landmarks during the tour. Should you return in the future, we’d be delighted to help arrange a more personalized tour that better fits your preferences and schedule.
Thank you again for your review, and we wish you safe and pleasant travels ahead!
Warm regards,
Magda

Our guide, Walid, was very knowledgeable and kept things moving. Could have used more time to eat and purchase souvenirs.
