Itinerary
This full-day sightseeing adventure begins with a morning pickup at the Warnemünde cruise port, followed by a drive south to Berlin, the capital and cultural center of Germany.
Explore the city with an expert local guide both by car and on foot, and enjoy a detailed account of Berlin’s fascinating and oftentimes troubled history. Learn about Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party and what life was like during the Third Reich. See where Hitler’s bunker was located and visit the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. Also, find out how Germany was divided while walking through Checkpoint Charlie, the best-known crossing point between East and West Berlin during the Cold War.
Walk under the famous Brandenburg Gate, one of Berlin’s most important monuments. A symbol of division between Berlin and Germany during the Cold War, it is now a national symbol of peace and unity. Also, see the Reichstag building, the meeting place of the German Parliament and the iconic Fernsehturm de Berlín, or TV Tower, one of the most popular attractions in the city.
Also, get a taste of Berlin’s cosmopolitan culture with visits to Potsdamer Platz and Gendarmenmarkt, two of the city’s must-visit squares.
This private tour is a customized experience, so be sure to include any specific requests and desired attractions at the time of booking.
The tour concludes with a return trip to the Warnemünde cruise port.

Our guide, James in Berlin was quite knowledgeable and accommodating to our needs. Our only complaint was the transport vehicle was not what we expected. We were picked up in Warnemunde by taxi. The driver while very nice did not speak English. Through Google translate we established that he was driving us to meet our guide in Berlin. The taxi was not comfortable and the windows had advertising stickers on them- blocking views as we traveled. By the end of the day getting into and out of the taxi became a bit challenging for the older travelers in our group we were a party of 6 between 60-80 yrs old. I would recommend this tour for anyone wanting to see the sights in Berlin. James did a was wonderful in providing insights and painting a picture of WW2 Germany. An English speaking driver and being made aware that we would be meeting our guide in Berlin would probably have made the initial pick up a little easier and seamless. We still give this tour high marks for being comprehensive, offering good communication during the booking process and affordability. My only suggestion is letting clients know about the taxi transportation and potentially an only German speaking driver.

Giles was fabulous. He was informative, interesting, funny & accommodating. Uwe, the driver was safe & kind and got us to our boat on time. I would highly recommend this tour.

Our driver and Tobi were terrific. Fascinating tour. So much great information. Great experience and English speaking as requested . I didn’t like having to contact the tour operator in advance. I thought Viator would do the entire process.

Our guide Tobi was fantastic 😀! He was extremely knowledgeable and took us to all the major attractions in Berlin. I learned so much about German history and current lifestyle in Germany. I would highly recommend him.

Our driver was excellent! Our guide was so knowledgeable and tailored the tour to our needs. Highly recommend Gregor for any tour. This was by far the best way to see Berlin!!!

From the driver (Andrei) pickup til the drop off everything was excellent. Our guide, Sam, was friendly and able to alter his tour to our needs

Excellent tour and very informative. David really knew his history and presented it in a very clear and understandable way. Hartmut was an excellent driver.

We really had a great time on this tour, even with some terrible luck with ship docking late and an acid spill that closed the autobahn. Our driver was great very little English, but pleasant and accomodating--we were in car with him forever and our tour guide, Rick, was fantastic. Even with all the delays and shortened visit, we saw the Berlin Wall, war history, Brandenburg gate, and other key sites. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting from Warnemuende port. It is a lot cheaper than things you book via a ship, even though it is pricey overall.

Our tour guide Johnny was wonderful!!!! Our driver picked us up from the cruise port and drove us to Berlin to meet our guide Johnny. It was only our family of four. Johnny was very knowledgable about the history of Berlin and showed us all the major sites to see in Berlin. We were even able to make a few special requests as well and Johnny fit our requests into the day. For lunch we were taken to a wonderful restaurant that we would never have known about without our guide. Highly recommended. Great price compared to the Princess Regal Shore excursion to Berlin that had a huge bus of people. We were able to see so much more of Berlin with our group of four!!!

Walter was excellent. He is highly informed, very patient, and gave us a thorough and panoramic tour of Berlin in a spacious and comfortable vehicle.

Torbin is a fabulous guide. He excels on measuring available time with high level explanation allowing key points to be visited. His history on Berlin and English exceeds expectations. Would recommend him to our most savvy traveling friends. Thank you!

This Excursion was the best of all offered on our 11 day Baltic cruise. Our driver picked the four of us on time right at the dock in a new Mercedes van and had us in Berlin two and a half hours later where we met our guide for the day Rick who is from the US. Rick was an excellent guide, very easy going and very knowledgeable with Berlin history particularly the Cold War era East and West Germany and WW II.
Because there were only 6 of us we had easy access to places the larger tour groups never get to see plus the usual tourist spots such as Check Point Charlie and Brandenburg Gate. He even took us to his favourite restaurant for lunch which turned out to be the highlight of the day. Very well done Viator, this was an excellent choice!!

This private tour was one of our best! Our driver was waiting for us with a sign as we left the cruise ship, we drove in an air conditioned van with a bathroom stop on the way 2 1/2 hour drive, and we met Ryan our tour guide in Berlin. He was extremely knowledgeable and took us to every important stop with a full story on the history of each site. He was, by far, the best tour guide we have had. It was well worth the money!

Emily from the local tour company was a great tour guide with a lot of information and history to share. We were only there for one day but we managed to see everything we wanted. Being on a private tour gave us the flexibility to see what we actually wanted and stopped for breaks at our own convenience. A car seat for our son was arranged for us at no extra cost.

Our guide and driver were top notch. Highly recommend the Viator excursion over the excursions offered by the cruise lines.

The driver met us at the cruise ship and we met our guide, Finn in Berlin. What a wonderful guide he was! So knowledgeable and interesting - knew lots of small facts and trivia as well as the major info you want to know about. He took us to a great outdoor place for lunch that felt very "local" in character. I loved every minute of the day. Ask for Finn if you go!

The tour company had forgotten about our tour. No one came to the port to pick us up even after confirming our travel with Viator. Lied to us about bring in traffic. The driver was over 1 1/2 hour late, didnt speak English ,didn't get to Berlin til 11:30 am. We speed walked.

Really enjoyed this tour. The driver was pleasant and the trip was quick. Our guide, Alex, was very informative and knew what he was talking about.

1. Driver did not speak English so we drove from the cruise port to Berlin and back in silence!
2. Berlin guide was an hour late, and we wasted precious time waiting for him, starting the actual tour after noon! We specifically wanted to see the Pergamum Museum, but the guide and driver did not know its entry point. We wasted more time driving around in circles, walking uselessly in the heat, as guide and driver attempted to find the way. By the time we got to the museum, we were quite frustrated and angry.
3. We specifically wanted to see Sans Souci in Potsdam. Guide said "no problem." But he'd apparently never been there, and he wasted more time as we drove around the city asking directions from locals and even tourists, trying to find entry point to the palace grounds!! It was embarrassing and very frustrating. Neither driver nor guide had been to the area, I think. When someone finally told ME the entry point, the ticket boot was closing and tours were over!!
All we could see was a bit of the grounds and some buldings from the road.
4. Places were gorgeous, but we did not get to enjoy them.
5. We paid a lot of money for this guided tour and I feel we wasted much of the 6 hours and most of our money.

The tour was great. Our driver met us as expected and took us to Berlin where we met Lorna. She was an excellent tour guide. We let her suggest the best locations to view. Her knowledge of the city was good and she was very personable. This trip with 5 others was much better that a tour on a large bus and I would highly recommend it.

Excellent, driver was perfect, professional, informative, nice. Private guide (Rick) in Berlin was fantastic, I highly recommend him, American who has lived and studied in Berlin for 4 years so we could relate to him in so many ways, he was so knowledgeable and informative.
