This is hands down one of my favorite travel experiences of all time. It was just me, my mom, and my brother with Alfonso and his co-host. With our small group, we got to be totally hands on for the entire experience. The paella we had was AMAZING, I still dream of it to this day!
The hosts were informative, easy-going, and so easy to talk to! The apartment is BEAUTIFUL and artsy. You would never get such an authentic and intimate experience with a large tour. I highly recommend this class above all others!!! 10000/10 for sure.

This experience was so warm, inviting and intimate. The experience of being welcomed into such a beautiful home by the hosts was unforgettable. We learned a lot about paella preparation and, more importantly, the finished product alongside the gazpacho and sangria were fabulous. This was a very special evening that I will always remember!
First rate…delicious food and wonderful conversation with a great chef. My son had a blast…what a great experience being in someone’s home and learning to cook delicious paella. Food was amazing!

Absolutely perfect! Alfonso was waiting for us outside and showed us up to his welcoming home. We were immediately served champagne and were given aprons to start our process. He had all ingredients prepped and ready, but explained what each was and also the importance of great ingredients. After we chopped and sliced, we headed up to his rooftop overlooking the bay and watched as he explained each step in the paella-making process. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience from front to back, and even fell in love with his dog and parrot. <3 Thank you to Alfonso and Txema for being so gracious and welcoming us into their home -- as well as teaching us a bit about their city and cuisine. 10/10 would do again.

One of our favorite experiences in Barcelona! The hosts were so warm and welcoming, and their home was the perfect setting for such a memorable experience. The rooftop terrace overlooking Barceloneta was absolutely beautiful, and all the thoughtful little details made the class feel extra special.
The food was delicious, and our host was incredibly knowledgeable—not only about cooking, but also about Spanish history and culture. The class is intimate and relaxed, making it such a lovely way to meet people from different parts of the world while enjoying an authentic and delicious experience.
We would absolutely recommend this particular class to anyone visiting Barcelona!

Such an incredible experience..Alfonso was so friendly and gave us such a warm welcome into his home. His dog was also so friendly. The entire experience was so informative. We learnt how to make paella sangria and cream catalana. The food was so tasty. 💯 recommended

This was an excellent master class in making some basic Spanish cuisine standouts: Paella, Gaspacho, Sangria. These are extremely simple recipes, but the devil is in the details and exactly what you do how you do it and what to watch for and that’s exactly what you’ll get out of this class.
This class is suitable for English speakers, but you’ll get a lot more out of it. If you have at least some Spanish as you will be able to ask questions from the hosts’ wealth of knowledge around the edges.
It’s a hands-on class, though some of the Long cooking prep items have been made before, but you are walked through the process and there are a few tips and tricks that you won’t find in cookbooks.
In addition to the lovely hospitality and cooking, and the knowledge transmitted, their apartment is to die for.
This course focuses on seafood and gaspacho has bread in it so in order to get the most out of it, try to go in without dietary restrictions. I believe they would be happy to accommodate any such, but I wouldn’t go with you.
It’s totally worth it, just book it now.

Alfonso welcomed us into his home and created an amazing experience. From being greeted with his dog to the view from his terrace and the table display, to his knowledge of cooking, it was all so well done and my husband, in laws, parents, and I had an amazing time. And it was just the right balance of doing the cooking and watching the cooking too!

It was a great experience! Alfonso is an ex chief and very knowledgeable and explains everything we did in the kitchen. We made a three course dinner with an amazing sangria. I would highly recommend booking when in Barcelona. PLUS A VERY CUTE DOG.

It is at the demonstrators personal home. The view of the harbor from the balcony is incredible. Both he and his partner are warm and wonderful. They do have a dog that is chill and relaxed. Preparing the meal of gazpacho, paella, dessert, and sangria was fun. Eating the meal on the rooftop terrace was exquisite. I highly recommend this tour!

This cooking class was an exceptional experience in a local home with a beautiful view of the marina taught by a talented chef. He was very knowledgeable and did a fantastic job answering questions and providing the best ingredients for seafood paella, which were prepared inside and then cooked outside on the beautiful rooftop grill. The homemade white sangria was one of the highlights to our dinner. Absolutely recommend without hesitation!

If you're reading this, PICK THIS ONE. This was absolutely my favorite experience not just in Barcelona but Spain overall and everything I was looking for in a cooking class - insanely delicious, intimate, personalized, thorough, and in a beautiful place.
Great experience before we even arrived - my partner is VERY allergic to seafood so I messaged prior to the event to confirm they could accommodate dietary restrictions (knowing this was a big ask for a smaller, personalized activity). They responded very quickly and kindly that it wasn't a problem.
Took an easy metro ride with a nice walk along the beachfront to the location. We arrived to the BEAUTIFUL apartment with a warm welcome (complete with champagne) from Alfonso and Txema and they immediately made sure they knew who had restrictions to keep them away from those ingredients but still active participants in the preparation. Alfonso (a professional chef with decades of experience) explained everything that went into the preparation of the gazpacho, paella, and sangria very clearly, including how and why specific ingredients are chosen, great tips and tricks, and cooking pitfalls to avoid. He was super approachable and answered all of our questions not just about the food prep but his life and experience in the industry.
We went up to the even more stunning rooftop, which he has all to himself! We had time to socialize and soak in the views and while Alfonso and Txema cooked up the food - INCLUDING a personalized non-seafood (chicken and vegetable) paella for my partner. Everything was SO GOOD and fresh and enjoyed with an insane view of the sunset over the harbor. Could not have asked for a better time PLUS we got the recipes for everything in our inbox the next day.

The prep is in the family dining room. The roof top patio, where we dined and cooked paella was wonderful.It was nice meeting new people. The host created very authentic paella with family secrets. I would say it was very warm inside the house where we prepped. Much cooler later on rooftop patio , with great views. The host accommodated guests with allergies.

This is a nice, intimate cooking class - a departure from the overly touristy, busy experiences in Barcelona. Location with harbor and sunset views. Small group with a Spanish chef as our host. Host was gracious, pleasant, knowledgeable, and patient with us. Wonderful tablescape with well-developed progressive menu - gazpacho, seafood paella, crema catalan, and sangria. Everything came out delicioso! Nice, peaceful conversations over dinner with good recipes and memories when we departed.

We had a wonderful evening with Alfonso and Txema! There was also a family participating with is. We were in the personal home and rooftop patio overlooking the Old Port where many yachts were docked. The view from their patio is beautiful, the weather was ideal and the food was excellent! Alfonso shared his recipes, even his “secret ingredient “! 😀 after dinner, my husband & I walked around the port looking at the beautiful boats, and the activities of the carnival around the port area. We would definitely recommend this activity, we had a lovely evening! Thank you, Alfonso and Txema!

This was a true "experience"
For my birthday, my adult Son agreed to go with me. Of course we (mother & son) don't often enjoy the same things. But I had a great time and I think he enjoyed it more than I did! The food was really good; we got some good cooking tips; the view was fabulous; and the Chef was "authentic". We really had a great time and would absolutely recommend adding this experience to your Barcelona trip!
