BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Great experience at the market……amazing tapas, great egg soufflé and tomato bread! Wine and beer flowed and making the paella was amazing! Our chef was knowledgeable and FUN! We each had “names” by the end of the session!!! I learned so much about Spain!!!! Thank you SO MUCH!!!

What's Included

The cooking class consists of preparing a complete gourmet menu guided by a professional chef.
A complete menu with drinks and coffees served in Imperial table format.
You'll start by visiting La Boquería market accompanied by the chef or his assistant.
Tasting of 10 Tapas with wine tasting and explanation of Spanish gastronomy through those Tapas.
The menu can be adapted to any type of diet: Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc.

This was an absolutely wonderful experience! Claudia hosted an enjoyable, and informative cooking event. The tapas that were prepared ahead of time were delicious. We really enjoyed visiting the La Boqueteria marketplace. Preparing the paella, Spanish omelette, & Catalan crème was a fun and educational hands-on experience. All in all, it was a highly enjoyable and very tasty experience that we would strongly recommend to anyone coming to Barcelona.

Great experience for friends and family

We arranged this cooking class on the last night of our trip and it turned out to be a perfect capstone experience. Claudia made the entire experience easy for our mixed group of adults and kids with all levels of cooking experience to be involved, engaged, and informed. The tour of the market was really informative and gave us perspective we did not have when we walked through it on our own. I location was great, though a little hard to find at first. Would highly recommend.

Visited the market to explain about fresh fish and different kinds of ham while some of our tapas were being prepared. Then we took part in cooking addition tapas and the paella. Learned a lot from Claudia. Wonderful little spot. Know that you find them by going into the courtyard and between the Glacier signs. Look for black door #3 with Just Royal as a button to ring. Then three flights of stairs to their suite. Well worth the effort!

We had an awesome time! My vegetarian husband and carnivore self were in Barcelona for our honeymoon. It's tricky finding vegetarian friendly food-related activities but they definitely did their best! Husband had fun and we both learned awesome tips on cooking.

This was such a wonderful experience! Our family made friends and laughed and giggled all the way along. I would absolutely suggest to anyone to enjoy this experience. I cannot say enough about this experience. First, there is Claudia! The most exceptional cooking instructor there is. Aside from being incredibly funny, she made learning something so intimidating, so easy. The unsung hero is a lady by the name of Audis. Not just a sous chef but an integral part of the team. The experience includes not just tapas and wine; but instruction on how to make a Creme Catalonia and a Spanish Omelet. Wear comfortable shoes. There is no elevator and there are 55-ish stairs to get to the cooking school which has a beautifully comfy dining and living room space. The trip to the market was really lovely. You don't shop there but it is worth the stroll. If the Food Network is looking for its next big star, look in Spain! The food YOU make will be delicious and the company of the people was just fantastic.

The instructor, Claudia, was fantastic. Knowledgeable and had a ton of personality. The food was very well done and the content was well presented. Claudia got people talking and enjoying themselves while learning to make all kinds of Spanish and Catalonian dishes, with the finale being the Paella. The only reason this wasn't a five star rating was the market tour. It felt like a quick walk through with some information presented on the Ibirico and other hams and a brief discussion of Paprika. That's about it. Seemed really rushed although the cooking instruction took up the rest of the time nicely. I would recommend this class wholeheartedly, just don't have too many expectations of the market tour.

Enjoyed a quick trip to the market, then back to the apartment to savor the tapas and cook our dinner. Love that this class is held in a homey apartment. Prepping and cooking was lots of fun with our amazing host, Claudia. Plenty of beverages available, including beer and wine. Claudia had a great way of interacting with our group. Prior to the trip we looked at several paella class options. So glad we picked this one!

Unfortunately, this cooking class was a major disappointment. There was very little hands-on involvement as I had experience in the past with this class. The instructor didn’t explain the recipes clearly and seemed to lack a deep understanding of the subject matter. Overall, it felt more like a poorly organized demo than a proper class. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a meaningful or educational cooking experience.

We arrived in the plaza and you do need to read the instructions carefully and look for a black iron door with the number 3 higher up than other doors. You climb 3 flights of ancient marble stairs into a very cute dining room and kitchen. We were first and greeted by Claudia our host who is from the Canary Islands but grew up in Florida so her English and Spanish was excellent. The other host was Audi (sp?) her English was not as good but she really was the assistant. Come hungry. We toured the market off of la Rambla and the food there was amazingly displayed but expensive. We then went back to the Kitchen/dining room and ate a variety of excellent food with wine. Maybe too much wine but we got to know the other guests/tourists as well. There were 9 of us in total. We then cooked Paella and a dessert similar to creme brule but with orange and lemon zest. Overall an excellent experience. I'm still in Barcelona but it likely will be the best tour we did.

This was my first time in Barcelona and my very first cooking class, and I truly had the best of times! The tour of the market was very informative and pleasant. The apartment where the cooking class takes place is lovely - charming, well-decorated and organised. Our chef was not only very welcoming, but nice, funny and made us feel at ease straight away. The tapas (as you would expect) were all delicious. We got a bit of a Spanish culinary history summary and then we were off preparing 4 dishes: Pan con tomate, Spanish omelette, Seafood paella and Catalan cream. I'm not going to elaborate further - you just need to take this cooking class! But it has been a total blast. And the food... the food was amazing (OF COURSE) but the chef and the company were even better!! Best birthday gift I could have ever given myself! Thank you again for the great experience.
