A time was had!!!! Such a fun cooking class! We felt like family with complete strangers and had amazing paella. I walked away with a good understanding of how the dish is traditionally made as well as some insight into different iterations of it around the country. Prioritize this experience on your itinerary and go have a great time.

Brilliant experience with Ben creating an intimate, fun and comfortable environment whilst also displaying a high level culinary expertise and local cultural information

Benjamin was excellent! The class was the perfect balance of casual/entertainment as informative. He shared personal experiences and make sure everyone got what they can for. The location was also fairly close to the metro which was helpful since we were taking public transit. He was friendly, professional, and welcoming. We would definitely recommend this experience to friends visiting barcelona

My friends and I came to Barcelona wanting to do a paella making class and this was the perfect experience! The food was great as well as the instructor and atmosphere. The instructor walked up through, step by step on how to make paella and sangria. When we sat down we had a nice conversation with the other people in our group and the instructor. It was interesting to learn about the local culture and hear what it’s like to live in Barcelona. Overall, I would greatly recommend!

Our instructor was fantastic, super accommodating with dietary needs (we had both vegetarians and meat-eaters in our group and he adjusted without missing a beat), and genuinely knowledgeable. He walked us through each step so nobody felt lost or worried about messing up the dish.
The class went beyond just paella too. We also made sangria and a few classic Spanish appetizers, which was a great bonus. You could tell he really loves what he does; he was passionate about the food and happy to answer all our questions, including some good local tips since we were still getting to know the city.
Would absolutely do this again and would bring more friends next time if I could. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Barcelona who wants a hands-on, memorable food experience.

We enjoyed this experience but it was not a lot of hands on activity but we all enjoyed it. We were there during a heatwave so may have made it seem slower paced

What a lot of fun this experience was. Ben was so much fun and knowledgable. It brings great people together. We learned, laughed and had a great meal and refreshing Sangria's.

Benjamin was a great host. We gained alot of insight on paella history and the types of paella. We had lovely appetizers and a dessert.
It was a really hot day but Benjamin kept the sangria and ice water flowing. Everyone had the opportunity to participate as much or as little as they wanted to. We had a great time. I would definitely recommend this experience!! Thank you Benjamin!!!

Ben was a very welcoming, knowledgeable, and attentive host. All guests have the opportunity to be as hands-on or -off as they please, so there’s no pressure when it comes to participating in the class, either way.
My partner and I highly recommend!!

Benjamin was amazing! This experience was the highlight of our trip. We got to make sangria from scratch, an app and seafood paella. It felt like such an authentic experience and truly something I’d recommend to anyone!

If you're even thinking about taking this paella cooking class in Spain, stop thinking and book it immediately!
My mom and I took the class together, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. Benjamin was hands down the best host we could have asked for. He was friendly, hilarious, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. From the moment we arrived, he had us laughing nonstop. I honestly can't remember the last time I laughed that much while also learning something new.
Not only did we learn how to make an amazing authentic paella, but Benjamin was so patient and helpful throughout the entire process. And let's talk about the sangria, top tier and so fresh! Between the delicious food, great drinks, and Benjamin's endless humor, the whole experience felt more like cooking with friends, in your neighbors backyard.
My mom and I couldn't recommend this experience more. Great food, great company, lots of laughs, and memories we'll be talking about for years. Thanks, Benjamin, for making our trip so special (easiest review I’ve ever done).

Our chef, Christian, was patient and knowledgeable about the countries cuisine. We loved being outside and having this experience on our trip to Barcelona. We loved meeting new people and dining with them. Just a heads up for anybody that might not be able to climb steps. There are several flights of stairs to go up to the rooftop. My friends and I all enjoyed this immensely and we highly recommend this excursion.
Bridgette_G, May 2026
Christian was so great! The rooftop was so cozy, we had such a nice time participating in the cooking and chatting with the other people there. Christian let us be as hands on/off as we wanted and added some great context of the history of paella. He added in some easy tips and tricks for us if we wanted to make it again ourselves. The sangria was also great! Would definitely recommend!
Sheila_Z, May 2026
He’s very accommodating with your time, very hospitable and the paella as well as his sangria were one of the best tasting we’ve had while in Spain!
Nina_W, May 2026
Benjamin The host was extremely friendly and funny. We were really able to get involved in making a traditional Paella. We were also able to try different stages of the Paella like the sauce and some of the rice. The final product itself was amazing. I would really recommend people to try this for themselves.
Evan_A, May 2026
We had such an amazing time, and I would highly recommend this experience to anyone. I personally enjoyed how humble the experience was - it was just paella, sangria, and great conversation. The host took his time explaining the differences between the types of paella, and how to properly build the dish. We also learned how to make sangria and an appetizer, which we ate as we cooked the paella. Despite being with a large group, it was very interactive, and I felt like this experience was designed so people could go back home to try and replicate the dish themselves. The host was so fun to chat with - he was very friendly and had many good recommendations for other things and places throughout the area. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who not only has an appreciation for food and cooking, but for the culture itself.

Amazing experience! Very insightful, great guidance, wonderful hands on experience. Tips and tricks and history to bring back home, highly recommend!

We absolutely loved the Rooftop Paella Class! Benjamin was such a gracious host and made the experience feel personal and welcoming, especially since it ended up being just the two of us. One of the most interesting things we learned was that the true star of paella is actually the rice itself, not the seafood or meat that goes into it. He explained the process so well and made it both educational and fun.
This was a very hands-on experience. We chopped vegetables, grilled the seafood directly on the special paella pan, and helped stir and build the dish step by step. The entire class took about 90 minutes, and with the beautiful weather we were lucky enough to enjoy the rooftop setting the whole time.
The portions were extremely generous — honestly more food than we could finish! Unfortunately our hotel room didn’t have a refrigerator, so we couldn’t take leftovers with us, but thankfully Benjamin had a neighbor who happily benefited from the extra paella. Overall, this was a fantastic experience and I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Barcelona!

This was the first cooking class I’ve ever taken, and will definitely do more of them because of this experience. The chef was so cool and so much fun to chat with. The class itself is very relaxed but also informative. My wife and I learned a lot about the food but also about the different regions in the area that inspire the paella. I am going to recommend this paella class in particular to anyone I know that’s taking a trip to Barcelona.

What a wonderful experience! This was a day I will never forget. Such a great time learning about the dish and some of Barcelona and other parts of Spain. I highly recommend it.
Frank_L, Apr 2026
Benjamin was absolutely fantastic. Personable, knowledgeable and friendly. No rushing, took his time with the whole group. Total of 10 of us. Excellent experience.
Lindsay_D, Apr 2026
What an amazing time! I highly recommend booking this experience if you’re traveling to Barcelona and want an authentic, engaging and fun experience. We did the evening session (5pm) and were a group of four. I honestly think this was a great time to do it! It was a great activity before booking a late dinner, which we happened to do. There ended up being 12 or 13 of us in total in the group, and it was so much fun. The experience started with multiple pitchers of homemade sangria, which Ben teaches you how to make yourself before jumping into a history of paella making, followed by diving into cooking! All cooking is voluntary, for example two of us were all in - slicing and mixing and stirring anything we could, and two of us were locked in on the sangria and beautiful views. There’s something for everyone here. The paella itself was delicious, and it was so easy to follow along with all of Ben’s comments and instructions. We’ll definitely be rebooking the next time we’re in town!

My children & I spanning ages, 57 me, kids: 21,18 & 12 had the BEST experience with Benjamin on his rooftop learning all about the history of paella, how to make it & why different cooking techniques are use;. He was so personable & knowledgeable! He was great with us, just a family + does a lot with others including corporation team building events. He has a dog, so if you like pups, ask if he can join.
Such a special memory to make when in Barcelona! Make sure to ask for Benjamin!!!

Amazing experience, Ben was a great host and an even better chef! The food was incredible and the sangria went done so well! Couldn’t of asked for a better host and the roof top was a great venue.
