I was hoping the reviews were wrong but I have to agree that this was the worst tour I have ever been on. I could understand maybe 10% of what the guide said at best and he was very unorganized with his thoughts. He would talk about twenty things at once and then sent us off to look at them making the group unsure of what we were even looking at. Tour started off on the wrong foot when the meeting instructions were not accurate and several people couldn’t find the group. Guide was sort of rude to them when they pointed that out. Then the tour ended in a random neighborhood with no guidance as to which direction non-residents should go to leave. It could’ve been a lot of fun but I never wanted a tour to be over with quicker.

The guide didn't habdle the English well, it wasvery confusing and is frustrating to try to understand someone that is supposed to be a certified speaker. I do not recommend it

Our tour guide did not speak English well enough to be giving an English tour… he would start a sentence and then trail off with “oh I forget the word” and then never finish the story. This happened multiple times. He also got a ticket for giving the tour from the police while we were on the tour with him. Not sure why. I would go with a different tour group.

The guide was quite inept. We could hardly understand him and the tour was mostly a waste of time with him providing irrelevant information.

Understood about 10% of what the guide said due to his strong accent and also large tour size. He also had a hard time confirming my booking.

Overall, this was just odd from the beginning. Our tour guide, Carlos
arrived right as the tour started, while all of us on the English tour were wondering where our guide was and if there would even be a tour for us watching 2 other tours get organized with their guides. Our guide did go over some of the history of the buildings at the meeting point. But it was hard to hear him and his accent was very strong, so even when his volume was okay, his accent (Spanish) made it very difficult to understand what he was talking about. We spent the tour listening to him for 15 minutes, then walking for 5 minutes and doing it again. There were 2 different times (one around a church and the other in the Red Light District) where he talked to us, then gave us directions where to walk and he met us afterwards. It was odd that he didn't stay with us to point things out. We did go into a "coffee shop" but even that was odd. After he spoke to us there, he told us to wander around the shop, then 2 of us were told we shouldn't have gone towards the back of the store where we wandered. When we finally made it near the Red Light District, he spoke for 15 minutes, then gave us directions to go around the block then to meet him afterwards. All of us in the tour were thinking this wasn't what we had in mind when we signed up. I have booked numerous tours with Viator, but I can't see going on another one where Buendia is the operator.

I’m really sorry to say this was probably the worst tour I have been on. Left before it finished as did a few other people on the tour.
On the positive side we saw where the Red Light District is, saw a condom shop and saw where the Prostitution Information Centre is (both closed) and saw a dope store. Left when we were going to go to China Town.
Explanations were not clear and the tour seemed haphazard and strangely structured.

When I booked the tour I knew we would have Spanish guide that really didn’t bother me. What annoyed me most though is that we went to see the Red Light District most of the tour was away from this and a whole lot of speaking of which we were given 15 minutes to actually go and see the place. For those who can just go and explore it on your own

Horrible tour. I have done this tour before and it was great. Now with the changes it not worth the money to do it. A lot of standing around with useless info. And then the self guided 15 min tour was just a joke. I will not recommend this tour for anyone.

The duration of this tour is 2 hours and the local guide accompanies you at all times except inside the red light district, which by law does not allow guided groups. This is indicated in the description of the activity.

Our guides are local experts with a lot of experience.
Amsterdam regulations do not allow guided groups inside the Red Light District. Therefore the guide leaves some free time in the middle of the tour for you to see it on your own. All this is indicated in the activity description.

Although the guide was nice, very little information was given throughout the tour. The guide had nothing to distinguish him from the hundreds of other people at the meeting point so many of us were confused and couldnt find him. For this reason the tour left 15m late as we had to look for everyone who may have signed up for the tour. The tour also ended after 45m...not the 2 hours we paid for.
Little to no information was given throughout the tour. When facts were passed to the group, these were read directly from the guides phone. I still know nothing about the red light district apart from where it is.
When the tour ended, most of the group stood in confusion because it was less than half the length advertised and wasnt informative. Everyone was waiting for it to properly start, but it just abruptly ended.
I booked this tour based on the rating but dont trust it - it unfortunately does not match the product and other reviews are probably fabricated. Would recommend looking into other tours instead of this one.

This was an okay tour...but not what I thought. We were educated on the history of the world's oldest profession. However, as far as the tour of the red light district, the tour was so-so. Our guide was 30 minutes late. We were notified. But we had another tour to follow and had to leave prior to him completing the tour.

Terrible instructions on how to find the Tour Leader. I never found the leader. The address 39 Dam St. did not seem to exist. There were several other tours clearly identified by an umbrella or some other signal but not this tour. Very disappointing because I only had one day to do this in Amsterdam.

Finding the tour guide was impossible. When I messaged them before the start of the tour, they did not respond and they also refused to rebook or give me a refund. Extremely unprofessional.

Unser Guide kam über eine halbe Stunde zu spät. Außerdem hat er einen wirren Eindruck gemacht, sodass wir und auch die anderen Teilnehmer nicht sicher waren, was er erzählt. Zudem war sein Englisch sehr schlecht (auch für die Amerikaner und Engländer in unserer Gruppe schlecht zu verstehen). Leider keine schöne Erfahrung. Mussten dann alle auch früher gehen, da wir durch den verspäteten Start zu lange gebraucht haben.
