This small group canal cruise was a highlight of my trip. Captain Storm was a fantastic host and captain, with a dry sense of humor that made the experience even more fun. He shared great Dutch history and interesting facts along the way, and did an excellent job creating a relaxed, friendly vibe with the group. I did the sunset cruise and highly recommend it. Watching the sun set over the canals and the city was absolutely beautiful. The drinks and snacks were a perfect touch. Definitely worth booking.

Capt. Charley was very knowledgeable and informed us about the architecture and highlights of the area. It was definitely one of the highlights of our visit.

We had such a great time on this intimate canal tour - so many drinks options to choose from for the open bar, and yummy snacks to try out. Great way to see the canals and learn about Amsterdam. It felt like we were sailing around with friends - definitely a must in Amsterdam!

The two hour tour was well worth it! Our guide Jim was excellent. We learned a lot about Amsterdam history & tradition’s. The snacks and beverages were delicious! Thank you Jim! (Not Bob lol).

Our experience was basically one of riding up and down the canals, drinking wine and eating small snacks. Our guide was not the typical, trained and certified guide that we’ve come to expect in our European tours. He’s basically a guy who owns a boat and grew up in Amsterdam. He was friendly and jovial, but several of the guests had to ask him to explain about the houses in the area, the landmarks, etc., and several times his response was, “I don’t know.” We ended the tour with a Dutch language lesson which was helpful, but I didn’t get off the boat feeling I learned as much about Amsterdam as I did reading guidebooks and watching YouTube “Learn about Amsterdam” videos.

The tour captain was interesting and knowledgeable. He made the experience fun and everyone on the boat had a great time

We did a 2 hr canal tour with Captain Storm and couldn’t be happier! First, the snacks, drinks, and stop for bitterballen were fantastic! It was only 12 people so we had plenty of room (small group is the way to go) and you could easily see everything with unblocked views. Captain Storm was knowledgeable and pointed out things we wouldn’t have noticed. He shared stories of history as well in a lighthearted manner. My friends had been on several other tours and said this was by far the best!

We did the tour in the morning (10:00M) and the weather was just right - our guide Captain Tom was a great resource for the history of the city and the snacks and drinks onboard were lovely too

Captain Erik was friendly, funny and informative. This was my first time in Amsterdam, and I enjoyed seeing the city from the water. Delicious snacks and beverages were provided as well.
We took this tour the same day we landed after a long red-eye, so it worked well to keep us awake and entertained.

The pickup point is just a bench along the canal in front of an art gallery. The Uber driver call the company to verify we were in the right spot. Everything went great!
Lori_B, Jun 2026
Captain Erik was fantastic! He had so many facts, stories and bits of history to share! He even told some that included his parents/grandparents which were fascinating! Food/wine on the tour was also great!!! We only had one day in the city and this was a superb way to see it!!!

Our guide, Jim, was exceptional! It was clear from the moment we met him that he genuinely loves his city and enjoys sharing its history, culture, and hidden gems with visitors. He was incredibly knowledgeable, full of fascinating information, and a pleasure to talk with throughout the tour.
The food and drink tastings were plentiful, delicious, and thoughtfully chosen. Everything felt well-paced and authentic.
Of all the tours available, I would highly recommend this one. Jim truly made the experience memorable, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip!

This was hands down one of the highlights of my entire trip — an absolute must-do in Amsterdam. I went on to do the standard tour with another company afterward, so I had a direct comparison, and this small group experience blew it out of the water. I would recommend it 100 times over without hesitation. The history of Amsterdam was brought to life in a way that was engaging and memorable, the drinks kept flowing, and the food and snacks were a lovely bonus. If you're visiting Amsterdam, don't skip this one.

Captain Storm was fantasticn and very personable. Our small group asked great questions, the weather was perfect and we covered a lot of area during our cruise. We will most definitely do this again and tell others about it!

Great instructions on where to meet. The actual cruise was leisurely and there were plenty of snacks, mimosas, wine and soft drinks. Our captain was engaging and quite funny!

What a perfect way to see an evening sunset in Amsterdam. Cruising with Rederij de Wester is a truly delightful experience. Easy pickup and drop off, the 2 hour cruise is a good time to parts of Amsterdam not normally visited. Captain Philip is a lot of fun and kept all the guest engaged and entertained for 2 hours! Loved the snacks and complimentary beverages. Just an excellent evening experience, highly recommend. Will join them again next time we’re in Amsterdam. The boat is beautiful and comfortable, quiet and smooth ride.

This was a lovely canal cruise which only had 8 passengers/guests. Captain Storm was informative, educational, very social and quite interesting. The canal was not as busy being a Sunday and at times very quiet, which made it peaceful. It was also just the right pace and got to see a lot. I highly recommend this canal cruise.

Our afternoon cruise cancelled so we did the last cruise & it worked out perfectly 🙌🏼 So calm, peaceful & a beautiful sunset!
Stan was awesome with his knowledge of all things around town & was great with a smaller group group!
The bitterballen just topped off the food & great drinks provided!
Totally recommend this cruise 🤗

Robin_H, May 2026
Captain Storm was knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. We loved that it was a small group (14 people). Snacks & beverages were good & just enough. It was a beautiful canal cruise in a beautiful city!
Rachel_P, May 2026
Relaxing and fun canal tour with Captain Storm. The Captain was entertaining and fun and highlighted lots of great sights during our tour. The boat was clean and comfortable. The snacks and drinks were perfect for a warm late afternoon.
Sophie_D, May 2026
The cruise through the canals was beautiful, the drinks and snacks were good unfortunately the commentary wasn’t great. We were expecting information about the places we were passing and about Amsterdam in general. What we got was a lot of talk about the captain and his family - to be honest we really don’t care about his kids and how well they are doing at school/university. Most of the participants were American and he talked mainly to them, especially the young girls. So - did we love cruising around the canals - yes! Did we enjoy the commentary - definitely no!
