This small group canal cruise was a highlight of my trip. Captain Storm was a fantastic host and captain, with a dry sense of humor that made the experience even more fun. He shared great Dutch history and interesting facts along the way, and did an excellent job creating a relaxed, friendly vibe with the group. I did the sunset cruise and highly recommend it. Watching the sun set over the canals and the city was absolutely beautiful. The drinks and snacks were a perfect touch. Definitely worth booking.

Eric was very informative. An interesting item was that he had a connection to Anne Frank. It was nice to see the city from the canals.

Nice, relaxing canal tour with Captain Eric, who was very knowledgeable. He was nice enough to let us join an earlier cruise than we had scheduled.

A great canal cruise. Our tour guide was fantastic. She provided great information on the key features around the canals. Will highly recommend to my friends!

it a very enjoyable fun experience . Would definitely recommend this tour .

We would love to have understood this guy better as sadly he spoke far too quickly and we missed a lot. Would have like authentic Dutch snacks apart from the bittenballs which were great.

It was a such relaxing joyful ride. Our guide Stephen was witt and knowledgeable and we learned about the city and the country !

What not to say? This was absolute perfection! The Mrs and I booked this about a week prior to the visit this week. There are ALOT of options for canal cruises but this one just jumped out.
Stephan was great! He was informed, casual and easy to relate to. The boat seated 8 of us easily with an open bar, some local 'liqour' and cheese with other snacks. The stop 45 minutes into our 2 hour trip for Bitterballen allowed a toilet break ashore and the chance to enjoy a local specialty while 'cruising'. This was a luxury experience that we are so grateful we chose.

Amazing trip. We came from 2.5 days of traveling and Erik gave us and really engaging cruise that showed us new sights and and gave us a new perspective of amsterdam.

What an unforgettable evening! Booking this sunset cruise was the absolute best decision to kick off our trip to Amsterdam. Captain Charley was exceptional—knowledgeable, engaging, and made sure everyone had a fantastic time. Enjoying great drinks and tasty local snacks while gliding through the canals at dusk set the absolute perfect tone for our entire trip. If you’re coming to Amsterdam, do not skip this experience! 10/10 recommendation.

Super fun experience! Charlotte was an awesome tour guide! She shared so much about the city. It was a great way to get a lay of the land and it was fun! We had drinks and fun snacks the whole time, social group. The 2 hours is really nice.

Captain Charly was great! Really enjoyed the tour, snacks and drinks. Captain Charly made it a special experience for us.

We did this 2 hour canal cruise (longer time than most cruise options and it’s worth it) TWICE during our 3 day stay in Amsterdam because we loved it so much. First cruise was with Captain Philip (23 yr old Masters student) and second time (on this day) we had Captain Storm, Philip’s dad! Captain Storm tells different history, takes a different path through the canals so it was a completely new experience. Cannot recommend this experience more strongly!

We are RAVING FANS! We enjoyed Captain Philip, a 23 year old Masters History student in Amsterdam (works Saturdays). Is a wealth of knowledge regarding the Netherlands, Holland and the city of Amsterdam as well as the canal & building history. It is a ‘serve yourself’ (wine, beer, and try the Jenever Dutch Gin) and they stop about 15 minutes in to a local restaurant to grab hot, fresh bitterballen to eat while you cruise along with cheese, grapes and mini stroopwaffles. It is so fun, you will meet all kinds of people and this tour is 2 HOURS instead of most the others which are 1 hour.

Absolutely fun & informative. Group of 5 Texans laughed SO much. Adventure took us east to side of Amsterdam tourists don’t get to see.
Sheri_L, Aug 2026

We had a wonderful tour with Stephen our captain. He had such great knowledge of the city and the people of Amsterdam. He was on time and fun to interact with. My husband and I really enjoyed the whole experience and would recommend to everyone

Stephen was amazing. Full of knowledge and insight about Amsterdam and other parts of the world. He kept us engaged during the whole 2 hours. Great host and he was fun. Thanks!!

Excellent, relaxed trip around Amsterdam canals with a funny, very knowledgeable guide. Huge amount of information on the city history and about modern Amsterdam and the Netherlands . Stephan, our guide, was excellent company. Only 8 of us on the tour so it was lovely and personal. Cheese, wine, bitterballen and other snacks were top quality. Would very strongly recommend
Claude_S, Aug 2026
Very pleasant, experienced and knowledgeable tour guide. Ample snacks and drinks provided through the tour. Tour Guide (a local) gave a good general overview of the history of Amsterdam, providing intriguing personal family history of the the period during WWII, including the history of Anne Frank during the occupation.
Delrene_H, Aug 2026
Awesome experience. Since it is a longer cruise, it went places the other tour boats don’t. There was plenty of wine, beer and a small charcuterie board. And a bottle of Genever. The Captain was very knowledgeable s c had a great sense of humor. I would do this tour again !
Martijn_B, Aug 2026
It's the 2nd time we did this tour and its still very nice. Amsterdam by the canals is the best view in town. Captain Eric has good storing telling and gave good explanation on the land marks.
Drinks and food is nice too. The weather topped in off. Was a perfect boot ride.
Marianne_B, Aug 2026
Very informative and engaging. Captain Eric was truly a blessing and really made sure to keep us entertained and taught us so much about the history of Amsterdam. He is kind and exceptional at this role.

We had a fantastic time on this Amsterdam canal tour! The small group size made the experience feel relaxed and personal, and it was much nicer than being on a crowded boat. There were plenty of refreshments throughout the tour, and the snacks were delicious.
Captain Erik was excellent, the commentary was informative without ever feeling boring, and he had a great sense of humour that kept us laughing along the way. We learned lots about Amsterdam while enjoying the beautiful canals and scenery.
Overall, a really enjoyable experience and one we would happily recommend!

OVERVIEW: We met our tour guide right on time at an easy-to-find location. Captain Charlie greeted us and was personable, eager for questions, and happy to show off the city and her navigation skills cruising through the canals. She seemed genuinely invested in ensuring we had a pleasant time. As we cruised we got to enjoy a variety of drinks, snack on a local cheese plate, and try some cute little stroopwafels.
HIGHLIGHT: It was the perfect sized boat – not too many and also not too few, felt lively and social. Also, seeing the buildings from the water's point of view was a unique perspective.
DRAWBACK: The boat we were in was covered, so sometimes views of buildings were a bit tough but this is such a small thing don't let it discourage you.
TIPS:
• The cheese board is more of a snack, not a meal. Make sure you heat something substantial before enjoying the drinks.
• Book an evening slot (we did 8pm for summertime and it was perfect).

What a fantastic cruise through the canals of Amsterdam! Great stories, a knowledgeable and approachable guide willing to have the passengers on his boat feel well cared for during the trip. He answers questions, makes jokes and made the whole experience very enjoyable. This tour definitely beats those larger boat rides with a recorded narration.
Lawrence_C, Aug 2026
Really nice canal cruise…we went at 8 PM which was perfect to see the lights and it was so much cooler! Just so very calm and relaxing and beautiful.
Edmund_K, Aug 2026
