Ben was a great guide-funny, informative, and considerate. There was a nice variety of food options and we ended the tour pleasantly full.

Cara was a delight! We really enjoyed our afternoon with her! The food was great, the conversation was amazing and we all had a wonderful time. There was just enough walking to burn off a good portion of the calories that we consumed. Will be recommending this for any other visitors that we have coming in to the area.

Our guide Lauren was really energetic and promoted our stops with enthusiasm. She was knowledgeable of the area and knew how to do her job. However, the cost of this tour was not worth what we paid and sorry to say the food stops were far from delicious. The Ethiopian which was the first stop was acceptable with a nice glass of wine and it did allow for a decent sample of the restaurant. The food at the deli was pretty good but to be sat outside on chairs by the curbside and handed a toothpick of a sausage sample was so so. The deli sandwich piece was the best food of the tour. The taco stop #3 was pumped was downright sad with a cold veggie taco and a plastic cup of water. Of course then you get all excited for the bakery at the end of the tour to be a cup or tea or coffee and a packaged blondie brownie not really worth writing home about for sure was to say the least. All just sad. There was no selection of anything on this tour like others in the past. Could have at least been offered since not everyone is vegetarian. Maybe adding some chips and salsa would have been a nice side? So try something else and don’t waste your money on something that you think you will be satisfied from.

We had a great time with Jacob on the tour. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and had a funny sense of humor. The Ethiopian restaurant was star of the show! We loved seeing Julia Childs home and the history that went with it. Great job, Jacob!! If you’re reading this, don’t think twice, book the tour. You won’t be disappointed.

Good walking tour around Georgetown. Could be better. The first half had great food and education, but it petered out at the end. Guide wasn’t as confident and engaging as some I’ve seen.

Our tour was canceled at the last minute and we are waiting for a refund still, one month later. Very disappointing.

Georgetown Foodie Tour was great!
Our guide, Dietrich, was awesome. He did a really good job explaining the tour and setting expectations. My wife loved that he showed us the Julia Child house. Dietrich kept a good pace, but not too fast. There was a lady in the group with knee issues and Dietrich was very accommodating and thoughtful with her. Dietrich seemed to know all the folks in the restaurants and got everything setup for us without us saying anything. Dietrich told good stories during the walks and told them well. I and, more importantly, my family had a great time!
Great way to spend an afternoon.
Thank you, Jim

The weather was beautiful, the Guide was fine, but you receive Too Little for Too Much money. Our guide was fine, she was very friendly and happily shared all of her travels with us, The many places that she studied abroad or visited with friends before and after her ‘summer guide work’. I did not learn anything historical but did get to see a house that Julia Child and her husband owned. We walked at a very slow pace through the Georgetown streets and saw many beautiful homes, but again, it was a lot of walking and a little bit of history. We had 4 stops - this is the least amount of food and the fewest stops that I have been on, for any food tour that I have taken. We went to an Ethiopian restaurant, where we had a Very Small portion of veggies for our group. We literally shared a plate of veggies that would not have been enough food for a child. It was interesting and a lovely restaurant but not worth the small portion or time. We had a meat pie that was great but then we walked and walked and walked and then stopped for a veggie taco, that again was not a large portion. Then we got a dessert. That was all. Now, I don’t expect big portions but the Guide routes that this food tour has a Huge Amount of food & drinks. I thought we would have several stops with small portions, samples even. But, No. The description of this food tour is vey well written but not what we received.

Elizabeth was amazing. She shared great knowledge and fun facts about DC.
We walked through beautiful Georgetown neighborhoods and made 4 delicious stops. Though I enjoyed the vegetarian dishes, my husband would have enjoyed a bit of meat protein.

Jacob was a great tour guide with a knack for anticipating questions and needs. I would most definitely recommend this tour.
Mary_D, Nov 2024
Enjoyed the casual pace of viewing the area, not just the Main Street shops and restaurants. Jacob was fun, and very patient as we had one in our party who was babying a recent ankle surgery.
Eren_T, Nov 2024
Had a great tour with Jacob. We had 4 stops and it was plenty of food. Also enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and learning some interesting history and trivia.
diana_r, Sep 2024
Great tour guide and very interesting stops. Weather was very hot but guide made sure to adjust stopping points so we were all in the shade! Bravo!
John_J, Sep 2024
A great foodie tour with local history thrown. Jacob our guide had a good knowledge of Georgetown and was passionate about the area and the individual eateries. Don’t eat before the walk, the helpings at the 4 stops were substantial and there was also the opportunity to try a local beer. There were only 4 of us so it was a very interactive tour with all participants being involved.
