BEST Way to Experience Yellowstone if short on time

5/5 Stars — An unforgettable day in Yellowstone! We recently took a guided tour of the lower loop with TIM, he completely made our trip. From the moment he picked us up, his energy, deep knowledge, and passion for the ecosystem were obvious. Instead of stressing over park traffic and finding parking, we got to sit back and take in the views. Tim knew all the best stops, timed our light hikes/walks to miss the worst of the crowds, and had binoculars for each of us to actually see bison groups up close. We also stopped to see bison, elk, and swans up close. He tailored the day to what our group wanted to see, shared great stories and history, and kept everyone comfortable and well-fed with a great lunch. If you are visiting Yellowstone, skip the headache of driving yourself and book a tour with Yellowstone Hiking Tours —it was worth every penny!

Wonderful sights that...

Wonderful sights that change from the falls, to woodlands, to a beautiful meadow. Then lunch in a wooded picnic area. Then a walk on the river above the waterfall and back to the waterfall again. A great and knowledgeable guide as well!!! It is by no means strenuous. I brought walking sticks as I am a senior my, but I hardly ever needed them.

For the end of September,...

For the end of September, it was a beautiful day. We were a little intimidated with 6 miles of kayaking but we endured! So many things to learn about Yellowstone Lake. The guides were great and we traveled at a nice pace. The last mile was a challenge but was well worth the trip.

We had a spectacular day...

We had a spectacular day in Yellowstone. Our tour guide, Michele, was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. She provided us with every opportunity to see wildlife and we certainly did! The scenic stops were gorgeous and the picnic lunch was delicious. Michele got us to Old Faithful just at the right time to see the eruption. With Michele’s expert driving skills and her knowledge of the park, our day was a big success! Highly recommend!!!

Owen was our guide and he...

Owen was our guide and he was excellent! He was personable and knowledgeable. Listening to him was interesting as he knew many facts about the park. Also, as older adults we appreciated his kind consideration of us, especially because a few of us had physical issues that required additional attention. We had three guided tours while out at the National Parks and this was by far the best experience!

Highly recommend this tour!

The tour was wonderful and we really enjoyed it. Our driver, Rory, was incredibly knowledgeable and had great stories and insight. It was so relaxing to just sit back and look out the window as someone else navigated driving and parking. It was also fun to meet other travelers from around the country. We saw a lot of wildlife, including a black bear, pronghorn sheep, and a ton of bison. We decided to explore the south loop on our own and I regret not using this tour company to explore the south loop as well.

Ask for Sid! This was such a fun day! Lunch was from a local restaurant and it was delicious and the van was comfy too. We saw so much wildlife and learned so much about the park. Sid was incredibly knowledgeable, adventurous, and an absolute blast to hang around with for the day. She gave us a ton of tips of when and where to go in Yellowstone for the rest of our days visiting. We also ran into other guides from the same company and they were all great. And if they suggest starting early, DO IT!! There is so much to see as dawn breaks. Highly recommend this tour!

Do this tour!

Tour of Yellowstone's lower loop was amazing. It was the perfect length (8 hrs). Only 12 people on the tour. Chase was our guide and he was incredible. Extremely knowledgeable about the park's history, geography, fauna, sights. He knew where to look for wild life. He was very easy to listen to. It was nice to not have to deal with parking at each sight.

Easy to use and provides background information on the sites you will be seeing. Alerts you to the site well ahead of time so you won't miss it. Starts again as you resume trip. Provides as much or more information than we received on full guided tour of Lower loop the day before for much more money. $20 is well worth it if you don't mind driving.

Money very well spent

Very positive experience. If you want to see wildlife other than bison, you really need to make the effort to wake up very early in the morning, but it’s absolutely worth it. The guide is extremely knowledgeable and knows exactly where to go to spot bears, wolves, coyotes, and other animals you would almost never find on your own. I appreciated that he explained what was necessary without being intrusive or talking too much, so we could enjoy the day without having to listen to an overload of information. He also provides professional optics that allow everyone to observe at the same time, while the monocular on the tripod is used to take photos with your phone, which are shared with you at the end of the day. We also took a safe one‑hour walk, discovering landscapes we wouldn’t have been able to see otherwise. Yellowstone is huge, and having a guide is essential to avoid wandering around aimlessly hoping to find animals. Money very well spent.

Wildlife tour

Communication with the company was great. Our guide Jack reached out the day before to confirm the meeting place and time which was helpful. Jack was also very accommodating during the day based off of our wants. We saw great wildlife except for a bear, but not because of lack of trying. Highly recommended will be back during the summer to experiencing it again.
