This tour includes two hours on the water following the whales, and a quick 15 minute peek at the Mendenhall Glacier. It is just enough time to step off the bus, take a quick picture, and then head back downtown for the rest of your Alaska adventure! On this tour, you will take one of the tour buses from downtown Juneau on a 20-minute, narrated tour through Juneau and Mendenhall Valley to Auke Bay. From start to finish, the entire day was PERFECT! The crew members, Monica, James, and Taylor, were some of the friendliest people we have ever met and were FULL of knowledge. You could tell how passionate they were about what they do, and they made the entire experience even more enjoyable! We saw SOOOO many whales, and they were SO close—it was absolutely incredible and something we will never forget! 🐋 Even our bus driver was hilarious and kept us informed the entire time, making the experience fun from the moment we started until the very end! We truly have ZERO complaints. Everything about the day was perfect! Thank you, Monica, James, Taylor, and the entire team for giving us one of the BEST days of our Alaska trip. Our driver, Alicia, was a local and very knowledgeable about the area. She pointed out places of interest on the drive to Mendenhall Glacier. Once we were dropped off at the parking area close to Mendenhall Glacier, Nugget Falls and Visitors Center the tour was self guided. The driver was prompt picking us up for our return to the port.

Captain Justin. Naturalist Ash and Monica were Amazing. I would 100% recommend this to anyone. This is my second time booking this. once in 2024. It was great then I knew I had to book again. I learned so much about whales both time, so many different facts. And getting to see whales up close was so cool. They take your Safety and the safety of the whales very seriously and I appreciate that as it made the experience even better. They also passed out snacks!

A great experience not to...

A great experience not to be missed! T.J and Tamara were so friendly and informative, we saw lots of whales and even got some photos at the end of the tour which Tamara took while we were there (with a much better camera than ours) a fantastic reminder of a very special tour. The smaller boat makes it so much more relaxed, friendly and memorable.

Well organised as timings...

Well organised as timings were spot on. An important point as we are on a cruise. Amazing to see whales, Hayleigh on the whale watching boat was enthusiastic about the whales and we saw at least 8 different whales close up. Plenty of time to see the glacier and walk to Nugget Falls.

I highly recommend this...

I highly recommend this excursion. We chose the earliest time and it definitely made for a less crowded boat. It’s still small and more intimate anyway, but choose the early option! Love supporting a family run small business. They rely on word of mouth rather than marketing or the annoying folks at the port trying to get business. So choose them for an all around great experience!

Delivered as Promised

True to life in Juneau, We had it all, rain and fog. However in made for some great whale sightings that we could hope for. We saw, breaching, diving and whales spouts shooting off everywhere. What makes this excursion nice is that all the ships in the water work together to make sure everyone can spot the whales. Our crew was exceptional, both informative and knowledgable. In a nutshell the price was right and the excursion gave us exactly what was promised.

Amazing flight over breathtaking scenery

The trip only happens during good weather (for obvious reasons), so we were relieved when the rainy skies turned partially sunny. Starting off and landing on water is quite cool but the views during flight were even much better. Our expert pilot John took us smoothly around and back. A wonderful experience!

Whale watching and Mendenhall Glacier trip.

Excellent experience. We met the bus driver a short distance from the pier and were dropped off at the Mendenhall glacier. If you hurry you can hike up to the nugget falls which are spectacular. It would be good to add a little time to this stop because the falls are about a 45 min to an hour round trip. The whale watching was the highlight of the trip. Savannah our guide was awesome. Not only did she and Jay (our captain) go over safety details and take us really up close to the whales, they had hot chocolate and snacks on the boat as well. Savannah is very well informed about the whales, their behavior and life cycle. The boat was neat and tidy. There is a rest room on board as well. Overall highly recommended!

Amazing company

Words can’t express how amazing this is, other companies take you to Mendenhall Glacier where 75 people are on the same glacier. We where the only people on the glacier just 6 of us just unreal!! The whole staff is first class from the greeters at meeting point, driver in the van to the safety crew and reception desk.

The tour guide Troy was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable about the area since he had lived there for many years. It was nice traveling with a smaller group in the trolley to the glacier versus a bus. We were fortunate to have a clear sunny day at the glacier and had plenty of time to explore the area.
