A Big Island Must

The four of us had an amazing time and saw things that we will remember forever! We all highly recommend this tour if you are visiting the Big Island. Chris and John were terrific guides and made the tour really something special-they know their stuff and clearly love what they do! We had fun, we sang, we laughed, we learned! The sunset at the highest peak on the island is unforgettable and then the star-gazing! I have never seen so many stars and then they bust out the high powered telescope and show you some things we have never seen before. We really enjoyed ourselves! Can't forget Anna picking us up and then getting us back safely. Overall, we would give more stars if we could!

Blown away!!!

Out of this world! Totally took me by surprise. Unbelievable views. My head was on a swivel. I’d highly recommend this tour when visiting the island. Chris was our guide and he was awesome! Easy pickup at Target, made another stop for more people then we were on our way. Lots of historical information shared and he also translated in Japanese for a couple who joined. Stopping at the visitor center was beneficial for acclimatizing. The drive to the summit was like visiting another planet. When we hit the summit it was jaw-dropping. Having a sandwich at 13,600 feet was the best picnic ever. I could’ve stayed there for hours. Our “wink-wink” NASA scope was the cherry on top. Star-gazing was like being inside a planetarium but instead of a projection, you’re standing right in it. Wes showed us the zodiac signs and taught us a few words in Hawaiian. “Hoku”- Star. I’m naming my next dog that! The laser pointers were crazy! So excited they took photos of us during the sunset and stars. What a treat! Overall, I’d do this tour again. It is truly something you shouldn’t miss. 8 hours may sound a lot but the time flies with this spectacular adventure. Tips: Stay hydrated, bring layers, beanie, gloves. Chris provided snow gear which is great so you’re not packing a parka for the trip. Sandwiches were tasty and filling.

Fantastic!!!

Such an amazing experience. Our boat Captain, Kelly and his crew were great. They gave us a lot of information which was delivered with a lot of humor. That added to the fun of the trip. They were very thorough with the instructions for what to do in the water and made sure everyone was comfortable. One of my family members had decided she was too anxious to participate. They convinced her to try it just for a few minutes. She was so glad she did. They made sure she was comfortable and felt safe the whole time. When she was done, one of the crew escorted her back to the boat. We saw about two manta rays at first and then more started wandering over. At one point we had about 6-8 swimming under us. So COOL!

We Saw It!

Our guide, Maggie, was informative and energetic. A geography major, she was a wealth of information. Rainbow Falls was beautiful, and our trip to the volcano ended with the start of an eruption. When Maggie was notified that was happening, she checked the time we had to be back to the ship and turned the coach around to the Volcano Hotel for viewing. What a special trip!

Exceptional tour! Absolutely amazing!

Our tour guide Brett was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and had lots of fun, engaging information regarding the Big Island. Unfortunately we had some..less than polite people in the van, but he handled it well. I felt really bad for him though, they were very unpleasant at times, but he always had a smile on his face and continued on with his great attitude. There was plenty of time to take all the pictures and videos we wanted at every stop and it was not rushed, which was nice. Also, lunch was AMAZING! I'm so happy they had a vegan/vegetarian option, it was very delicious! Brett also played us music on the guitar as we ate, which was nice. I tried to tell him the last song he played was great, but one of the other guests talked over me and disregarded his lovely music. So I'll just put my compliment here- Brett, your rendition of Hotel California was wonderful! I seriously recommend this trip to anyone visiting. It takes all of the hassle out of it, as you don't have to worry about finding a parking spot, paying for parking, paying for all the park admissions, paying for lunch, paying for a ton of gas, driving for hours etc etc. As a solo traveler, since the van was full, I got to sit in the front seat, which was such a delight! This was a terrific way to experience all the most beautiful parts of the Big Island.

This is a MUST DO if you’re visiting the Big Island! As someone who is absolutely terrified of the ocean, I was so hesitant to do the manta ray night snorkel… but I am SO glad I pushed myself to do it. It ended up being one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had! Our tour company was fantastic. The 3 guys who took us out were super laid back, engaging, and made everyone feel comfortable. They were especially supportive of anyone who was nervous or having a hard time being in the water, which I really appreciated. They provided the top half of a wetsuit, and I definitely recommend wearing it. Even in the middle of July, the breeze once the sun goes down gets a little chilly. The water stays warmer, so it wasn’t unbearable at all, but I was happy to have the extra layer. One thing I learned is that it honestly doesn’t matter which tour company you book with because everyone goes to the same manta viewing area. There were at least 10 boats and groups out there the night we went. At one point, we even took our light boards over to a couple of other groups and connected them all together into one giant light source to attract the manta rays even closer. We were in the water for about 45 minutes, which was the perfect amount of time for our group. We saw so many manta rays, and watching these gentle giants glide just inches below us was something I’ll never forget. If you’re on the fence because you’re nervous like I was, do it. I promise you’ll be glad you did. This was easily one of the highlights of our entire Hawaii trip. 10/10 recommend!

This was an incredible...

This was an incredible trip. We have done a lot of snorkeling and this was the best snorkeling experience we’ve seen. My 7 year old had an incredible time and was safe the whole time. Water was perfectly calm and so many types of fish and beautiful reef. The slide and platform on the boat were a huge hit with my son. He said that this excursion was the best part of his trip. The crew was incredible as well. Highly highly recommend.

Not much more to say that everyone else hasn't mentioned! Great activity if you're roadtripping toward Hilo for the day. The first few zips were short which is great for younguns and new zipliners. The views over the river and forest were lovely. The final zip was over a gorgeous waterfall!! Guides kept us safe and entertained. fun activity on this side of the island

Don’t be intimidated by the weather or driving the ATVS ,there easy to operate ,they have you drive a block or so to see if your comfortable operating it ,yes it’s going to rain ,they sell ponchos there for $4.00 ,this was one of the best parts of our trip ,it rained and your driving thru large muddy trenches ,and none of my family got any mud on them at all (they supply boots ) the guide is super informative about Hawaiian history ,he stops at different times to tell you the history ,i would highly recommend this trip ,6/24/2026

Fantastic sunset cruise. Great crew and just being outside on the boat - watching the sun go down - it’s what you pay for! Didn't realise they provided more than just snacks, so had already eaten - shame as the food looked great. Quite a lot of food untouched - I guess others thought the same…needs better details on the trip! Only one slight issue - if you expected this to be a ‘sail’ trip - it wasn’t. Just powered. Not sure why. Other boats did have sails up - but can’t really complain. Just a comment. Would recommend for sure though.

Great Experience

My husband and I are 73 & 76 years old. We really wanted to see volocanos but are unable to hike so we opted for the Safari Helicopter tour. The pilot and ground staff was very professional and helpful each encounter that I had with them. The helicopter tour was amazing with great views of the volcanoes and waterfalls. The pilot's narrative was constant and informative. We always knew what we were seeing and interesting facts about it.
