Highly Recommend!
Right on time! Both our naturalist and boat driver were great and informative, which made for a wonderful experience. We saw a momma bear and her two cubs who wrestled with each other. Saw a few whales and great tails. Also, sea lions. They had treats and water for us, too.

Sitka Tour
Christian of Barnahof tours made this tour interesting and worthwhile. Some confusion re Viator and actual tour operator at starting point but all helpful and got us loaded and on our way. Feel this tour as only one we took on this cruise was highlight of our time ashore. Much better value than booking on board with cruiseline.

One of the best experiences ever!
Captain Brad Wheeler of Sitka Nautical Tours went above and beyond to provide a fantastic tour. Our cruise ship was delayed in docking at Sitka by more than an hour on a short stop in Sitka - Captain Brad waited for us right by our dock so we could make our excursion. His well equipped boat hosts ups to 6 passengers which made it extra special. He took us to four different spots to view wildlife. We saw the cutest group of otters just floating about, stopped at a place where we were surrounded by a pod of about 8 humpback whales - a couple came so close to our boat we could have reached out and touched them. Got to see a nice group of lazy sea lions and many bald eagles. If you visit Sitka around end of July/beginning August captain said we would have had a better chance of seeing bears by the salmon hatchery he took us to. We asked for a good lunch spot suggestion, he did not steer us wrong by sending us to the Mean Queen - great pizza and bar food - nice view of the harbor - busy spot so expect to wait awhile for food.

Top Tour In Sitka
Our private tour in Sitka was indeed unforgettable, thanks to our guide, Gary. He is a courteous, professional and safe driver. As a retired schoolteacher, Gary is knowledgeable about the local geography, culture, traditions and history of Sitka, and shared it in a way that was most engaging. We were told that we were lucky to have him as our guide and we would agree. Five stars well-deserved!

Great tour!
We loved the tour of Sitka. Our tour guide, Riley, is a local resident and not only was very knowledgeable about the points of interest, but shared with us some insights about growing up and living there. We appreciate the work that the raptor center and Fortress of the Bear do to help the animals in Alaska. Very interesting.

We had a great trip with...
We had a great trip with Brody - first a Stellar sea lion, then a bald eagle, followed by 45 minutes surrounded by humpbacks giving us lots of tail fluke shots, and then watching the otters drifting in the kelp. Trip was rounded off with a visit from some Harbour porpoises. Brody was able to tell us a lot about the wildlife in Sica and was a great guide for the day.

Pilot
The pilot was great he took us over mountains , showed us many lakes and pointed out many mountain goats, beautiful rivers and and the volcano Mount Edgecumbe. He took us out over the bay where we were able to see whales just a wonderful experience. We definitely recommend.

Fun at Bear fortress
These bears were beautiful and the staff was very knowledgeable about the animals. The gift shop was reasonably priced and had great items. The totem poles at the national park were interesting and fun to walk and look at. The guide was very friendly and shared fun facts about Sitka with us.

Wildlife
This was a great experience. Matt and his daughter were great. We saw a bear feeding salmon to two cubs, at least 10 humpback whales, sea otters, harbor seals and eagles.
Matt knew exactly where to go so we could see the wildlife and he was so knowledgeable

Fun Ride
We had a great experience with our bikes. It turned out that our ship tendered into town and was not in the port which is where we expected to pick up our bikes.
Meaghan caught that right away and was in communication early that morning with us provide instruction on how to find them. She even allowed us to leave the bikes in Sitka instead of riding all the way back to port which was a HUGE help!
The bikes were in great shape and we had fun using them. Customer service was excellent. Just wish the weather had been a little better but it was still great to see all of the sights.

Our guide was very...
Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of info and interesting facts about the area. If he didn’t know the answer to a question, he said just that. He pointed out any wildlife that crossed our path, which on the day we toured were MANY eagles.
He gave great suggestions of places to visit in town once our tour was finished. We enjoyed it very much!

Great Experience
The people were very friendly and helpful. They allowed us to pick up early and keep until we had to get back on ship. They let us rent bear spray from them. Very informative and suggested places to go. Enjoyed this more than our other jeep rental through cruise line. Definitely recommend the Sitka Jeep rental!!!
