If you enjoy any bit of nature this is a lovely blend of flowers, gators and swamp. This will provide a real insight to how the land transformed with excellent stewardship.

The house tour and our driver were very interesting. The tram tour wasn't worth the time nor the wait as there wasn't much to see due to the time of year. All the staff were very nice. Also, we had a very rainy day, so we couldn't explore the grounds. With the weather conditions, the tour could have been shortened to just view the house tour and 15 minutes to see some of the gardens and grounds. We were there for at least 3.5 hours, which was way too long for what they offered this time of year and the weather conditions.

Wonderful tour with Anderson, who was so knowledgeable, upbeat, and funny! The property has incredible grounds - the plantation home, wildlife/nature tram and gardens. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Alan our bus driver and everyone at the Plantation were so friendly and knowledgeable. All around great tour.

This is a quiet way to spend a few hours enjoying nature. The gardens and property are lush and bustling with wildlife. The interpretive guide in the house was very good. Our driver and guide Lexi gave us an added bonus by taking us to the cabins. She was a wealth of historical information. It’s a good tour for adults. I don’t think young people or children would find it too exciting.

Magnolia Plantation was a wonderful trip. The gardens were beautiful. The house was fascinating. A great experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed the visit and tour of the Magnolia plantation. The tram ride was informative. In addition, the new tram with the new audio was great. Beautiful landscape.

Perfect tour of the Magnolia Plantation if you don’t have a car. Shawn was great and knew a lot about the area and gardens. The tram tour and house tour were a plus so you go to see a lot of the plantation in a compact visit. Definitely recommend.

The Magnolia plantation is absolutely breathtaking and the tour was perfect to include the history and details of the land and family. Such a great experience!

Great experience. If the weather is hot be prepared, about 45 minutes of walking. Sean the bus driver and guide for the walk was knowledgeable and nice.
Robin_B, Apr 2026

Our driver was so lovely. He took great care of our group and was flexible and patient. He kept checking in with everyone and reminding us of the schedule and times.
Laurie_G, Mar 2026
Our driver/ guide made sure we saw as much as possible in our time there. He also did a great job with area history considering this wasn’t his regular route.
Louise_H, Mar 2026

This tour is a must. The plantation gardens are the most beautiful that I have seen. Alan our bus driver and guide was fantastic.
James_K, Mar 2026
Convenient pickup and dropoff from downtown Charleston. Smooth ride down, and we came in March just in time for the azaleas and camilia.
Linda_G, Mar 2026
Shawn was our tour guide and was very knowledgeable in the history of Charleston. He made the tour enjoyable. Highly recommend this tour . Magnolia plantation was one of the prettiest places I have ever been to.
Uzma_L, Mar 2026
Booked a plantation tour of Magnolia Gardens. Not only was the plantation stunning but the tour arranged comfortable and enjoyable transportation. Enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish!
Dean_A, Mar 2026
Great experience! Too much to see and do in just 2-3 hours. It was painful and angering to see how wealth was built in the back of enslaved people.
Angela_C, Mar 2026
Magnolia is a beautiful property. We enjoyed the walking tour of the gardens and tram through the property. The house tour was a large group and would be more enjoyable with a smaller group. Also, we had a tour guide who was filling in for someone who called in sick. He repeatedly mentioned that he didn’t know this particular property which did make us wonder if the tour would have been better with a different guide.
Stevens_C, Mar 2026
Underwhelming gardens and manor home. Beginning of March beautiful weather but short on bushes , trees in bloom.
Stephanie_S, Mar 2026
Our guide was very informative on the bus ride and at the plantation. The house tour was great. The tram around the property for 45 mi was a little long and the guide talked about the plants and trees the whole time. Would have enjoyed stopping by the homes where the slaves had to live and heard more about their lives.
Patricia_W, Mar 2026
Our tour guide, Allen, was very knowledgeable and friendly. The house tour was great, although the tram ride around the grounds was too long.
Joanne_M, Mar 2026
A late February tour is not optimal. There are very few flowers blossoming. There is not a lot to see on the 45 minute trolley ride.
The house tour was more interesting. Tour guide was knowledgeable.
Randy_R, Feb 2026
The tour was AMAZING! My wife and I enjoyed so much about the day. Our tour guide Scott was great, the nice ladies we went with were so much fun, and the beauty of the entire place is breathtaking. We walked through the garden, took a tram ride to see plants & wildlife, toured the home, as well as walking though the slave homes. We learned so much and would definitely recommend taking this tour!
Brittany_S, Feb 2026
Easy transportation to and from the experience, ample time at the plantation, & friendly tour guide.
Pennie_L, Feb 2026
This was a great tour! Very informative! Anderson was our guide, and he was witty and humorous! He knew a lot about the area and was able to answer any question we had.
JACQUELYN_F, Feb 2026
