Great overview of Charleston
Highly recommend this tour, especially for first time visitors. It is a great overview of the city. Guide (Matt) was extremely knowledgeable about history of and landmarks in Charleston. Got some recommendations of “must sees,” restaurants, and even some books to read. It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

City Tour
This is a very nice and relaxing tour of the city. A carriage ride would have been a great way to view the city but we opted for a vehicle with air-conditioning which was very convenient for summer.
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, very friendly, and per my husband had great driving skills!

Her delivery made the history of the city come alive, which made the walk enjoyable for our family. If you want an evening activity in Charleston that holds the attention of teenagers and adults, we recommend this walking tour.

Viator's Magnolia Plantation Tour - a Must when in Charleston!
Our driver and tour guide, Greg, was the best: extremely friendly and so knowledgeable! He was pointing out interesting places and facts about Charleston as we were driving through the city (churches, types of houses, the Palmetto Palms and the State Flag) on the way to the Magnolia Plantation. He then spent time preparing us for what to expect when we arrived, what we would see, and the timeframes for each tour. He made sure we were comfortable by pointing out where the restrooms were located and where we could purchase food and drink. We walked through gardens, around swamps and the Ashley River. Greg explained so many interesting facts that we would never have known if we simply drove ourselves and walked around the place. He pointed out wildlife as we walked (alligators, herons, egrets, turtles and anhinga). Thankfully we did not see any snakes! He even took the time to take our photo at the picturesque long white bridge (suitable for framing)! I highly recommend this tour. The bus ride was very comfortable, and the smaller group size was perfect.

Definitely Recommend!
At the beginning of the tour we were asked what we wanted to learn most about. The tour guide did a great job incorporating that into his tour. Super hot day so the tour guide made sure we stood in shady areas and refilled our water bottles. Very kind and animated.

Best Bus Tour of Charleston, SC
The tour guide, Kim, was excellent! Highly recommend this 90 minute tour of Charleston! Very knowledgeable about Charleston and shared a lot of little known facts about the city. Well paced. Air conditioned bus. One of the most fun things we did while visiting.

Take the Charleston tour!
Very informative, humorous, and with a wide variety of subjects. Everything from the housing styles to war stories. I loved that fact that we had the option of being dropped off at the Charleston City Market instead of the starting point. The Market is a must see.

Magnolia Plantation - The good and the bad
Visited in June. Weather was very warm, the bugs were out (bring bug spray). The tour itself was really great. The grounds were beautiful.
We opted for the Boat tour as late as the morning of the tour. When we got on the boat is when our driver was informed that the boat tour was no longer available due to the swamp being drained for maintenance. The optional train (pulled by a "tractor") was scheduled but then a T-storm came through. Otherwise, the tour of the camp was very moving. The irish gentleman did a fabulous job keeping true to history without bias and painted a picture of the lives of the slaves. The house tour was very well done as well. She shared history and personal details of the Drayton family that made the tour fun and interesting. Overall, I would recommend!

Janine was such an...
Janine was such an amazing tour guide for the walking ghost and gravestone tour! I learned so much history about Charleston. I really loved the fact there were opportunities to pick her brain about the area and ask questions. The way she explained the stories really made them come alive! Highly recommend!

Amazing 10* tour!
Our tour guide John was absolutely phenomenal. He was a perfect combination of funny, educational, and historian. This tour was great because we got to see everything from the battery to the historic area, both sides of the river but you don’t get with a walking tour. There wasn’t a question we asked that he didn’t know the answer to. Every street was packed with historical facts, stories about architecture, history, and the city and the war. My ticket included a ticket to the museum, which was quite phenomenal. Don’t hesitate book now.

A pleasant drive to Boone Hall Plantation from Charleston perfectly narrated by our driver. The grounds are spectacular! As you drive down the Oak Lined Drive you are transported back in time. The Gullah people gave a historic presentation of their ancestors life as enslaved people. I would recommend this tour.

Discovering Charleston’s Soul—The Good, The Bad, and The Beautiful
I truly enjoyed this 1.5-hour bus tour through historic Charleston. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. He shared so much fascinating history about the city, the food, and even the good, bad, and ugly sides of Charleston’s past, all in a very warm and respectful way. Despite the rainy weather, the cozy bus made the experience even better. It was the perfect way to see the city and learn about its rich culture and heritage. Highly recommend!

Not seeing something you are looking for?
Downtown Charleston is wonderfully walkable. However, book a Charleston bus tour if you want to cover a lot of ground in a short time while taking in the most important and photogenic sights. Especially on hot, humid days—not unusual in South Carolina, especially in the summer months—you can relax in an air-conditioned coach while listening to your guide share entertaining and informative commentary. Some Charleston bus tours include museum admission or opportunities to get off the bus for photo ops.
