Beautifully designed exhibits. A great way to spend the day. We were in awe when we met “Sue” the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Our group enjoyed the museum and all it had to offer. We arrived mid late morning and it was quite busy. I would recommend arriving early to avoid the larger crowds.

Half a day is plenty with kids although you can’t see everything. Concentrate on kid friendly experiences.
Toni_A, Apr 2026
The map is great, but I did end up going through the dinosaur rooms backwards. It goes forward through time, so I was walking backwards through time.
MOODYDAVID, Mar 2026
This museum had very interesting displays of dinosaurs, wild animals, and cultures from around the world.
Koray_K, Mar 2026
The museum is one of the "must" visits in Chicago with kids. The permanent exhibits were great. We went early morning so it wasn't crowded at all 👍

There is so much to see and explore. Get rest before coming and go see the things you’re interested in first. There is so much to see and experience that it can’t be done in a single day.
My kids have very different tastes and we split up. There was something of intense interest for both.

Wow-what an incredible museum! I spent hours exploring! Highly recommend if you’re interested in earth’s history! So much to discover about plants, animals, and people. SUE is extraordinary! The ticket was super easy to purchase and I walked right in upon arrival. Overall, a fantastic experience!

Wonderful experience. This place is so large that you will need a full day to see everything . The Age of Dinosaur exhibit is a must see
Giovanni_B, Feb 2026
It’s an awesome experience and also wear comfortable shoes or sneakers so you don’t get tired because there’s a lot of things to see and a lot of walking.

Huge place. Didnt get to do it all. Was there 3 hours and only did 2 of the 3 floors. Was too exhausted to continue

Even though sometimes it is annoying to have to pay extra for some installations, it is worth it here at the Field. The extra admission (I am sure) helps with the installation and creation of the "extras". We saw "After the Dinosaurs" and the detail, stories, timeline and everything made it a wonderful experience for the family. We used to bring the kids here all the time (from Wisconsin) when they were younger, and now that they are teens they are still fascinated by it all!

A must do! So so much to see. You can spend hours here if you wanted! I have always wanted to see the Tsavo Lions and can now mark that off of my bucket list. My husband and I really enjoyed all of the skeletons of the different animals- it really makes you see the animal in a different way. And wow, so much we didn't know.
Domingo_S, Oct 2025
Very nice experience, not to be missed if you’re in Chicago. The exhibits are beautiful and so carefully prepared that they appear real. You need more than one day if you want to see everything and learn from every experience
Zachary_F, Oct 2025
It’s great and you can pace yourself and pick the areas with less people to get the best experience.

I haven’t been here since I was a kid (and dinosaurs still roamed the earth)! Still amazing and we had a great time!
zandt_t, Sept 2025
The tour company never sent the email. But fortunately the museum was able to lookup the ticket by the confirmation number.

Loved the live reptile exhibit and the underground exhibit. Visiting SUE is always a +. We visited mid week the last week of August so the museum was less crowded.
