Charming Windmills and Historic Harbors: A First-Day Tour of Zaanse Schans, Edam, and Marken
This classic countryside loop gives you a perfect cross-section of traditional Dutch heritage, from historic working windmills and scenic canals to coastal harbor views. Because it introduces you to a variety of distinct regional highlights, it serves as an ideal baseline for your journey—helping you discover which landscapes and cultural spots you might want to return to and explore more deeply later. To make the absolute most of your day, plan your lunch timing early. While each stop offers an abundance of charming sights and local eateries, midday restaurant service can fill up quickly, and sitting down for a formal meal during peak hours can eat into your sightseeing time. A great strategy is to scout out a appealing spot and grab a hearty lunch before diving into shopping or wandering through the village shops and craft demonstration centers.

Whole new story
Comfortable shoes, very informative you see all the little things and details that you would never see Rebecca was very polite and helpful, a very well spoken and educated young lady who I would recommend for any tour, if you could ask for a tour guide she would be the one, 5 stars for her. Thank you very much from the Allen family

Roman was a wonderful tour guide! Very personable and interacted with all guests. We enjoyed all the food tastings as well as learning more about the history and culture of Amsterdam. If possible for future tours, make sure the Henri Willig Cheese Store has an extra person to help out. The employee was nice, but had to help other customers, and had a hard time providing us with samples of the several varieties of cheese.

Amazing value for money
We weren't sure what to expect of this, but so pleased we booked it! It is only an hour, but the information shared was interesting and not what we'd heard on other tours - a light hearted insight into Amsterdam. Would definitely recommend the drinks options - free flowing wine, so worked out by far the cheapest drinks we had on the trip!

Netherlands tours focus on art museums, history, waterways, and natural landscapes in a country known for its vibrant cities and natural beauty. Along with dozens of expert-led Amsterdam explorations, you can find Netherlands tours that showcase the small country’s windmills, porcelain, and tulips fields in spring, or more food-focused excursions that let you sample smoked sausage, creamy Gouda, pickled herring, stroopwafels, and plenty of Heineken.
