The App warned us not to eat anything for at least 3hrs before the tour, if anything it should have been eat nothing on the day, we had so much food we took the gyro from the last stop away as takeaway and had it for dinner in our hotel. Our guide Dimi was just wonderful, exactly the right personality to conduct the tour. Highly recommended.

Had an absolutely wonderful guide, Menes (hope I got name correct). Superb English— he spoke slowly and distinctly and was very easy to understand. Excellent knowledge of the Parthenon; good sense of humor too. Climb to top of the Acropolis is very steep in places. Expect big crowds. Parthenon museum is spectacular too. Highly recommend!

This was a very in depth...

This was a very in depth look into the history of the ruins in Athens. Our tour guide was truly so knowledgeable and casually funny. The pace was great for me and my wife being in our 20s, but we did see some older individuals seeming to have some more trouble keeping up occasionally. Would highly recommend!

Great Vibes, Great Guide & a Lovely Experience

What a lovely experience! We had a great group of people from different countries and cultures, and the atmosphere was fantastic — really good vibes throughout. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and well informed, but also had a great sense of humour. She was friendly, well spoken and very approachable, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We were also given plenty of time to take photos and enjoy the surroundings without feeling rushed. I even suggested a group photo, which was taken and later shared with everyone in the group — a lovely memory from the day.

DONT USE Theodore’s Tours in Athens !!

Sabastian was an excellent guide - he was right on time and easy to find when we got off the cruise !! BUT, if you book this tour BEWARE or THEODORES TOURS there were 4 of us and they MADE us upgrade to a van instead of a sedan because we had luggage and they said it wouldn’t fit ! Which it totally would have .. Then we had to pay 150 euro up charge for the van .. This was all the night before the excursion so we were stuck .. I felt VERY taken advantage of !!! No other tour we did had an up charge for a van they all brought vans even if there were just two of us .. I would think a tour company should accommodate their passengers! Theodore’s TOURS seemed like a BIG rip off !!! We enjoyed the tour but the up charge that we were forced into was ridiculous!! Hopefully viator will use a different company from now on !!

A Fabulous tour - well worth it!

The Viator process was easy to navigate. Our guide was fantastic! Michael G was so knowledgeable: blending art, history, mythology, and language to provide an informative and entertaining tour. Having the museum tour before the Acropolis was very helpful. Having the earphones was also a plus. Congratulations to Michael on receiving his PHD!

Great Acropolis Tour

Unfortunately we got a bit lost getting to the meeting point, but our your guide waited for us. Our guide was exceptional. Her beautiful voice and her knowledge of the ruins was great. I wish I had a recording of it. She stopped quite often to give us all time to catch our breath telling us history at every turn. I would highly recommend this tour.

Easy to moderate pace to Acropolis!

Visiting from the US and chose this tour for our family. I am always concerned when booking and paying ahead of the tour, but we were very happy with the tour of the Acropolis and museum. Our tour guide, Frozzo (but you can call her Frozen 🤣), was knowledgeable and delivered the information perfectly. We ascended the site at and easy to moderate pace. My brother in law, who is at a slower pace, was able to ascend with little problems. The crowd of people gave him time to stop and recover a little before moving forward. While viewing the amazing site, she told us the history and the importance of what we were touring. She was able to get us all past the unusually long line of people and into the museum. The museum is absolutely fascinating and she added information that was easy to understand and appreciate. You won’t be disappointed in this tour. Wear durable and comfortable walking shoes or athletic shoes. Check the weather for how to dress. Our day was overcast, cool and windy, which I willl take over hot and sunny!

Another great Viator tour. Don't go to the Acropolis without it.

The whole reservation-check-in-tour experience was flawless. Easy to find the location of where to meet the group, instructions and reminders were sent frequently. Each attendee is given an individual headset so you can easily hear the tour guide and not have to jockey to be close by to hear. I could walk a little away from the group and still hear her speaking. The historical review went on a bit long, but was still very interesting. I had done quite a bit of research myself so I was familiar with a lot of the information - but for those that did not - it must have be very helpful. I would just cut the first stop by at least 5 minutes, it felt like we were standing for a long time. We had enough time to see each monument and the tour guide had great enthusiasm and answer all questions clearly. We added the museum tour which was fantastic. It is helpful to have pieces highlighted with the overall historical and art references. This tour felt like a base for our other museum tours. The time spent in the museum was perfect. I highly recommend Viator tours. We have not yet had one experience that was bad.

Worth it

My wife and I booked this trip after comparing other similar trips and chose this one based on the previous reviews. Previous travelers did not disappoint. The boat was excellent and in great condition. The food was some of the best in Athens so far. The crew was enjoyable and had very clear communication. The islands were very nice and the swimming spots were also excellent. Totally worth taking a day trip. Would do this again.
