Acropolis: A Must See
Our guide, Vicki, was very knowledgeable and passionate about the Acropolis. She presented information that piqued our interest. We slowly made our way up the South slope where we had great views of Athens below. She told us about the hospital, outdoor arena where plays were staged and the concert arena that until very recently hosted many well known artists. The edifices and art work of ancient sites are always astounding, and the Acropolis is no less remarkable. This is a site not to be missed. We had visited the Acropolis Museum at the base of the Acropolis. Don’t miss this valuable resource that showcases the art and daily living household objects created by ancient people of the BC era. Please be aware that the walk up to the top of the Acropolis is strenuous and not really for those who must use mobility aids (canes) as the surfaces are uneven, rocky and unstable in many places. You should wear comfortable shoes with traction soles.

Great intro to Athens!!
This was a wonderful introduction to Athens and our guide Julia was a delight! She has a wealth of knowledge and a bubbly personality. There is quite a bit of walking involved but we finished with a delicious dinner at a family-owned restaurant. We would highly recommend this tour and guide.

Don’t go without a guide!
Andrea was amazing!! Very knowledgeable and personable. She made sure she was early to get us all a great spot in line. As well as we got all the way to the top for amazing pictures before the crowd was even close to us. We were one of the first 30-40 people into the Acropolis and then she explained everything afterwards just to make sure we had great pictures. There was so much knowledge she had that we would have never even thought to look at things more in depth. 10/10 I would always tell others to go with a guide instead of by yourself.

Come with an appetite!
Eat a lite breakfast or skip if you have a mid-morning tour - there will be lots of delicious food to try! Arela was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable about Greek food and traditions. We learned so much about the cuisine and beverages and tasted some amazing dishes. We highly recommend this tour and Árela as your guide!
