What are people saying about Athens

Ten Trekking Seniors
My husband and I took this tour with four other couples from our active-adult community. We arrived about 30-minutes early to the Athens Walks office. People were already checking in. There is a place for coffee next door but arrive even earlier and remember there are no toilets on the Acropolis. We had all made separate reservations. To make it easier, book everyone together on one reservation. After and few stressful moments, the tour company grouped as all together with others around our ages. Caterina, our guide, was excellent. She paced our tour giving us a chance to catch our breath and hydrate while she continued her tour with information about Greek history and culture. It was a very crowded day and she weaved our way through the crowds showing her authority and experience as a guide. Following more information after arriving at the summit, we had about 20-minutes of free time. Once we reached the bottom, the tour continued at the Acropolis Museum. We were given time to use the toilets, rest and refresh at the small cafe. Caterina continued the tour with a decent overview of the museum which is quite beautiful. As the tour ended, you could choose to continue on your own. I would suggest wearing appropriate shoes and clothing, bring water and hats. Umbrellas don’t work well in the crowds or climbing up the steps. Trekking poles helped some in our group.

A Great Way to Explore Plaka and Greek Culture
Our guide Jannis was a wonderful ambassador of Greek culture and showed us so many aspects of Plaka that we would never have seen on our own. Our expectations were greatly exceeded. We are so grateful for him and how he made our group like a family. Everyone knew him as if he were a local celebrity. We were so full after and had sampled almost a dozen local specialties at one special restaurant in addition to 4 other stops and a tour of the fish, meat, and produce markets. He also made sure we all had arranged safe passage back to our hotels. God bless you Jannis.

Amazing full day immersive tour!!
We had such an amazing full day experience with Aristotle yesterday! He arrived early, greeted up warmly and got us started right at the acropolis first thing in the morning! He is so incredibly knowledgeable, and not just book smart or doing research on these things- he LIVES it! Aristotle is a true local gem who knows the ins and outs of this city and its history we could literally ask him anything! I have two teenagers and a 9 year old and they had been raving about him all afternoon. It is not easy to keep teenagers and a 9 year old entertained in history lol but we really learned so much. We could have booked 7 different tours to see everything and still wouldn’t have learned as much without this tour. Worth every penny! Thank you guys for a memorable experience in a magical city!

Athens varied and filling food tour.
Please arrive hungry for this excellent tour. We made the mistake of having a small breakfast beforehand and were having to pass up some of the delicious and interesting foods on offer. Myrtia ( not sure of spelling) was our excellent guide and made the whole experience fun and personal.

Ancient history is the headliner here, and Athens tours focus on archaeological treasures from the Acropolis in the city’s heart to outlying sites like the Temple of Poseidon in Cape Sounion, the Meteora monasteries, and the ruins of Delphi and Corinth. Visitors looking to experience modern Athens can nibble their way through the city on a food tour, walk or cycle in trendy districts like Plaka and Monastiraki with an insider guide, and experience the local nightlife on a bar crawl. The capital city is also the perfect jumping-off spot for day cruises and island hopping in the Saronic Gulf.
