Once in a lifetime excursion
It is a long day but well-organized. Up and out early and a classic Greek delayed return. Still well worth the time. A must see on the UNESCO tours in this lifetime. Breathtaking views, classically adorned monasteries, and a rich history make this day away from Athens a great idea.

Beautiful day trip from Athens
This is a must see! The guide Nick was very knowledgeable and approachable. The stairs and path for St.Nicholas were very steep
and uneven. You need to follow a dress code and if not they provide skirts and pants to borrow, etc. The bus got a bit warm but had comfortable seats and plugs for chargers. Bathroom break was half way there and back so every 2 hours. there were opportunities to get drink and food during these quick breaks. Once we arrived we had some time in the town to shop or eat. I was along day but an amazing and beautiful place to visit!

Must do trip to Meteora!
The tour was amazing and our guide was incredibly engaging and funny. The monasteries are beautiful, with excellent examples of Byzantine and Italian art and architecture. This is a truly unique place filled with natural and man made beauty. Highly recommend!

Lena was an amazing tour...
Lena was an amazing tour guide-she was extremely knowledgeable about the monasteries as well as able to share some personal experiences on life in Meteora that set the backdrop for daily life in general of the monks and nuns. We came away feeling as though we had lived a small piece of Greek life-Thoroughly entertained as well as a bit more knowledgeable.
Steve, our driver was a wonderful addition as well- they made a perfect pair -kind and caring with needy tourists.

Our guide was fantastic,...
Our guide was fantastic, providing history of the region and the monasteries, a geological overview and insight into the culture of the Greek people. All that information together with unforgettable views and tours of some of the monasteries. moderate physical activity.
Great tour ending with the promised fantastic view of the sunset.

Great tour!
The tour was very detailed and had lots of opportunities to see different monastaries from the outside and go inside 3. Depending on the day will possibly depend on which you go in as they each close on different days. We got to see Great Meteora, Varlaam and St Nicholas. We stopped at different vantage points along the way too. Our guide Vasili was very knowledgeable and could answer so many of our questions after each stop.

Authentic and personal experience
Chris was truly exceptional. With deep local knowledge, he showed us places we would have never discovered on our own. What really sets him apart, though, is his genuine warmth—you don’t feel like a tourist, but like a welcomed guest. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic and personal experience!

Seeing Meteora through the eyes of native born and raised guides.
There some unexpected issues such as the train strike that affected our return by train but the company handled everything for us, kept us infirmaded all the time, offered options, and got us the return bus tickets. Besides that everything was great! The guides Vasilis and Chris were a well of information, history, and curiosities. The small group tour is a wonderful way to go and my utmost recommendation. We had 3 tourists in the tour with Vasilis and just 2 of us with Chris (the guide) on the second day. The place is amazing and worth of every moment there. We stayed for 1 night, but if I ever come back, I will sure extend the trip for at least one more day, and do a couple of the hikes. We visited all the 6 monasteries that are still open, unfortunately I was only able to climb the steps to 3 of them...there are tons of them but my knees don't like them very much mowadays :-( . However, I still enjoyed the experience as much as if I had climbed. The paths, the views, the little hidden peak-a-boo perspective has lots to offer. I highly recommend Meteora Rocks to anyone planning to visit Meteora.

The place is magnificent...
The place is magnificent and magical, but the service does not include a guide, the driver will not go into the monastery’s and explain things. You must do your own research or add an audio guide.
Having said this we really enjoy the service of the driver.

A nice way to spend an afternoon in Meteora
Note that you only go inside one monastery, a small one at that (St Nicholas). And we weren’t told about the bus WiFi so it was only when reviewing the reservation just now that I saw that. But the views were great, and the church pretty (no pics allowed inside though). If you don’t want to do too much walking you see a lot for a little effort.

Highly recommended!
What a fun and enjoyable way to explore the wonders of Meteora and the monasteries.
The driver was exceptional at navigating the difficult driving conditions. Yannis, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly.
I highly recommend this tour for a stress-free way to go around Meteora and get some local knowledge as well.

Beautiful and entertaining
It was an excellent guide through the area which was a significant improvement on our own attempt to navigate the region. It was very manageable even in hot conditions and the walk was paced so that it was manageable for everyone. Chris the guide was a lovely guy who was very entertaining and was great with some of the kids on the walk. He was very knowledgeable about the history and environment of the region and answered several other questions we had regarding local transport things to do ect.
