It was an amazing experience and totally worth it. They are super knowledgeable about the night sky and outer space! We even saw the moon rise above the mountains it was beautiful. We got to see constellations, planets, Galaxies and see beautiful stars and up close. I went solo on my birthday it was very special for me. They took a beautiful night photo of me too! I loved it thank you!!! It was so cold at night so it is important to come prepared. They are so sweet they gave us a blanket, hand warmers and hot drinks and chocolate ☺️💜. Thank you for making my birthday special.
Also loved how they made visible signs to get there and to leave it was very helpful I very much appreciate it!!! 💜💜💜

If you are thinking about doing it this is your sign to book. Both of our facilitators were knowledgeable and warm. If you have to be in the middle of no where with strangers this is important. I felt comfortable and I had an amazing time.

It is accomodating whether you know nothing or a lot about astronomy. The hosts are very knowledgable and they make it an incredible experience rich with information and pictures in an efficient amount of time. I am so happy that I went!

Wonderful!! Excellent guides, super fun and informative, the most clear and beautiful sky. Learned a ton. Very comfortable. Leave early and with a downloaded map, there's no service and you're headed to the middle of nowhere :)

Don’t go when there is a full moon, it limits what you can see. Interestingly enough, the guides made a comment about pictures. “We are not Disney and we do not sell them. We will send them to your email tomorrow morning”. It’s been three days and we have not received anything. Maybe they are Disney? No extra money no pictures.

Really amazing experience. The presentation and explanation of what we were seeing was very insightful and interesting. We were truly amazed by what we could see through all the various telescopes. The location was pretty remote but it was worth it and quite comfortable lounging on the bean bag cushions enjoying the evening. This is something you'll always remember.

I was skeptical at first because of the higher price, but this I completely understand the price. They made the experience super comfortable with blankets and bean bags; they had tea and hot chocolate; and the tour guides were super knowledgeable and smart!

This was such an amazing experience! Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. Despite the cloud cover, we were able to cover and view a variety of constellations, galaxies, and nebulas. We were also offered a partial refund, which was much appreciated. I highly recommend this experience and would definitely come back when I am in the area again.

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! This immersive experience is well thought out, full of excellent information and a stunning sight to behold. The operators have made it perfect, with beanbag and blankets, hand warmers and hot chocolate. The knowledge by Michael, Shawn (Sean?) and Amanda was incredible. You will NOT be disappointed! Directions seem formidable but they are perfect. Print put a map and screenshot the directions before getting out of signal. Make sure to use restroom in advance. IT IS CHILLY EVEN ON 110 DEGREE DAYS. THIS WILL BLOW YOUR MIND!

Wonderful experience under the night sky in Joshua Tree park. The tour includes views from digital telescopes which are truly stunning. The tour is very well organized and the staff is extremely knowledgeable and professional. Love the super laser pointers they used -- it was like the whole night sky was a giant blackboard. Really great experience. If you're going up from Palm Springs, we recommend stopping by in Yucca Valley for dinner before venturing into the area for stargazing. The area has limited cell reception and no bathrooms - make sure you have offline directions!

It was absolutely beautiful! I know our host was worried about the full moon because of how bright everything was but we were still able to see all the things! The two hosts were so knowledgeable that they knew exactly where to look even if it wasn’t visible with the naked eye for us. I felt like I learned so much but didn’t feel overwhelmed with the information. Highly highly recommend!

Great experience in a secluded location. We were very well informed throughout the experience in such an impressive way that at no point did it feel like information overload or too complex to understand.

The stargazing experience includes interesting and thought provoking content on the galaxies and constellations. The hosts were thoughtful about our comfort while we laid back and viewed the stars while guided on what we were seeing. This was an awesome experience! It was my first time in Joshua Tree, and this was a highlight of my trip. The whole crew was very knowledgeable and approachable. They provided clear instructions on how to get to the remote location. When I left, I felt like I had not only had an amazing time but also learned a lot. The astro photography we got the next day was the perfect souvenir!

We absolutely loved this tour! We expected to just look at some pretty stars, but what we got was a full tour of our solar system and galaxies beyond. Our guides were friendly, fun (and funny!), and deeply knowledgeable—making complex information completely accessible to us. It was also surprisingly relaxing to lie on oversized bean bags and look up at the night sky while the guides explained the constellations and provided historical context for astronomy (and astrology) from ancient times to today. I can't recommend this experience enough!

This was so great! The team set up everything so nicely for us. Hot tea and cocoa, comfy chairs to lay back in, several telescopes with amazing views and education on astronomy. They made the drive as easy as possible with great directions and signage, the walk was minimal and easy even in the dark. And we got lucky with great weather. It is definitely cold up there, bring layers.

The guides were phenomenal - so knowledgeable about the constellations and galaxies. We really enjoyed it. I don’t recommend going on a full moon - too bright. We will have to come back for the full experience some day

Unique, comfortable, and fun. The crew behind this experience has really thought about everything needed to make an easy, enjoyable night in the desert. Comfortable bean bag loungers, hot coffee/tea/cocoa, blankets and binoculars at every station, engaging storytelling and great equipment.
Tip: Drive out early, go to the BBQ restaurant in Pioneertown for dinner or drinks (and a final bathroom break) before the short 5-minute drive over to the meet-up point.

This was so incredibly well-organized, thoughtfully communicated, and thoroughly thought through - my family and I have honestly not experienced a tour this well done through viator. (And, we’ve done quite a few that we’ve loved!)
Matt, and the two other wonderful folks he works with were incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely seemed to love sharing their knowledge with our group.
Matt was an incredible story teller as well as teacher - he also shared two relatable analogies about space and planets that helped shape this experience into the cool learning opportunity it was - but I won’t spoil any surprises!
Logistically we were comfortably able to lay down on bean-bag type mini-beds that supported our bodies from our heads through to the crook of our knees. If this wasn’t a comfortable position for you, they also provided chairs.
We then alternated as a group between Matt expertly explaining a ton of constellations, their mythological background, and looking through the team’s widely powerful telescopes at objects you could never imagine!!
Do it now! We want to go again and again!!

Worth every penny! We went with our two kids (12 and 7) and we all loved it. None of us are big “space nerds” but the way the information was delivered by the astronomer made it interesting for all of us. We would definitely do this again.

At first I was a little nervous, but this was without a doubt one of the best activities in which I've participated. Thr guide, Matt, was amazing, knowledgeable and entertaining. The clouds cleared and seeing galaxies and planets all while being warm, and comfortable was perfect. I highly recommend this tour.
