Had a cracker of a time...

Had a cracker of a time with Bruna. She is passionate, very knowledgable and tad crazy (aren't all Sicilian). The climb up Mt Etna was challenging but fun, and the wine tasting that follows make up for hike. We had a South slope Etna bianco with good body (akin to Grand Cru Chablis) that is generally lacking in Etna Bianco. Also bought a 2014 Etna Rosso that was ... beyond description. TAKE THIS TRIP !

Our tour of Mt. Etna and Gambino Winery was unbelievable. The day was so well-planned, from a quick coffee and pastry stop on our way up the volcano to a beautiful, well-paced hike with amazing views to a relaxing lunch and wine tasting at Gambino. I couldn't have planned it better myself! Luca, our guide, was so knowledgeable and fun. It was the perfect day. To note, we went in mid-March, and there was quite a lot of snow on Etna. Thankfully, Luca provided hiking boots and walking sticks for those of us who needed them!

We had a great time on...

We had a great time on our tour. Our guide Alessandro picked us up at our hotel in Taormina. He was friendly, and professional. He drove a comfortable van through the countryside to 3 beautiful places to sample some excellent wines. One served a lovely meal, the others served small dishes to complement the wines. Wines were available for purchase but there was no hard sell, which we appreciated. All told it was a great day.

Great tour!

If you’ve never been to Sicily or the Mt Etna area, this is a must do tour. Omar our guide was great. We were picked up from our hotel in Taormina and drove up the mountain for one of the most amazing hikes I’ve ever done. The weather was a bit fridges and cold so we were not able to ride the cable car higher up. But we were able to hike around some of the lower craters and experience a lot of the same scenery that we would’ve seen higher up. Omar had some extra jackets, but make sure to bring good footwear and be prepared with cold weather clothing. We then made a stop and a cute little honey and olive oil shop. Delicious stuff. Then we made our way to La Gelsomina winery and were treated to a lovely antipasto platter and 4 glasses of wine. Jessica at the winery was great answering our questions and took us on a little walk through the property. Beautiful place! Highly recommend this tour!

Palmento Costanzo Wine Tasting Experience

This was a fabulous small group trip to Palmento Costanzo Winery on the foothills of Mount Etna.... made all the more memorable by the friendliness of our six travelling companions and driver / guide Giovanni, who was very knowledgeable and provided us with a safe and enjoyable ride up and back. The trip was excellent value, with three separate wines to sample (one each of red, white and rose) along with some Sicilian speciality snacks. We then headed to a nearby farmhouse for lunch and unlimited wine, which was also included in the price. The tour duration was approximately seven hours in total and we would definitely recommend this trip.

Great experience!

Francesca was a fantastic teacher, highly recommend! We made 4 different things, pasta, eggplant parmesan, swordfish rolls and fish in salt. The class is in the middle of a working restaurant so it was noisy but a lot of fun. Taormina is a cute town as well. I would highly recommend this experience!

An offer you shouldn’t refuse

When you are about to spend your day with 6 complete strangers and a guide anything can happen, and usually does. Ultimately, whether you enjoy your tour or not comes down to two things, your guide and the company behind the tour. In this case, starting with the touring company, I had every confidence this would meet or exceed my expectations and I was not disappointed. The communication regarding every component of the tour was not only timely, but extremely accurate and very professional. I would not hesitate to consider them for any other experience going forward. My wife is a self proclaimed Godfather freak, she has seen the films over 100 times (except #3, no one could sit through that one that many times) and has had this tour on her bucket list for the last 7 years when we first saw Taormina while in a cruise. She can recite almost the entire dialog of 1 and 2 verbatim so she was going to be a hard one to impress. Orazio, our guide for the tour, was more than up to the task. Not only did he impress our entire group, but we all learned so many things that were completely foreign to us, even though the first film is now over 50 years old. To be able to have my wife tell me all the things she didn’t know was the most impressive thing I heard in our 50 years of marriage! Well done Orazio.

A Must With Family & Friends

Experience is everything that is detailed and more, got to try foods I had before and new foods I would be scared to try. If you have an allergy or don’t like something that is offered hosts are more than accommodating to change something or offer something different. There isn’t a lot of knowledge based talking regarding the foods, short and informative information regarding the food and what makes it special. Our tour guide Giovanni was lovely, knowledgable, and upbeat. He gave some good hints and tips on the food and where to go and on best experiences and places to visit the island to get the best experience of Siciliy. There wasn’t a lot of walking involved, I had expected a lot more, so anyone that is put off by the thought of a lot of walking this tour is prefect as it is short stops between restaurants.

This was so much fun and couldn't recommend it more.

What a great fun experience. We booked the 6.30pm option, which was a 2 hours class and somehow left the restaurant at midnight, 1 seriously delicious home made pizza eaten. 1 bowl of home made pasta eaten. Plus snacks and seemingly 2 litres of wine each. We couldnt have enjoyed ourselves more, even though the walk home was tougher than expected!!
