I can't say enough about this tour. Martino, our tour guide, promptly arrived at our pick up point with water in the van. Driving in Sicily is really the wild west but Martino was continually asking if we were happy with his driving, which we were 100% of the time. He was very knowledgeable about Mt Etna and made several stops to show us special views and point out a buried village. He got us behind the scens at the winery with the owner. Martino was quick to pick up on our interests and pointed out a few details not on the itinerary. This was a great tour with am outstanding tour guide.
It was a wonderful day visiting Mt Etna, the honey store and Gambino winery. Our driver Martino was thoughtful, entertaining and we had a great day.

Great day with private guide. Perfect mix of experiences to fill the day. Gambino winery was fabulous. English speaking guide was so punctual and polite.
Our driver was very knowledgeable about the area, and also very accommodating for my grandmother who walks with a cane. He made sure to take routes she would be able to walk or that she could find a place to sit.
We had an unforgettable day exploring Mount Etna and visiting the Gambino Winery. Our guide, Martino, was exceptional—knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about his land, its history, and the unique culture of the Etna region. His enthusiasm made every stop more meaningful, from the volcanic landscapes to the vineyards thriving in Etna’s fertile volcanic soil. The stop at the honey farm was a great experience, arriving just before the tour groups, making us feel like it was a private tour! The winery visit was a highlight, with excellent wines, delicious local food, and fascinating insights into the winemaking traditions of the area. Martino came through again, he took us to a private part of the vineyard that was quiet and very romantic. On our way back, we stopped at the Chestnut of One Hundred Horses, and then proceeded on our way, only to be surprised again by a gift of delicious Italian cookies.!
If you’re looking for an authentic Sicilian experience, I highly recommend this tour, and Martino. Thank you, Martino for sharing your passion and making our visit so memorable!
Dress warm as much colder at crater!! You can walk around the lower craters, see a piece of a village that got covered in Lava some 40 years ago.
The winery was interesting. Tasted 5 wines paired with food.
Guide was so nice! He really made us feel special! He told us about all the little things you miss in a big bus tour.

Lovely day. The wines and local dishles were amazing. A surprise highlight was finding wild saffron flowers blooming under chestnut trees!
The guide Giuseppe was exceptional and had a great way of conveying the history and geology of the area.
The honey farm was interesting. The winery was good but the lunch was mediocre, the service was a little slow.
All in all it was a good experience and I would recommend the tour.
Dress in layers for the cooler temperatures at Etna. Throughly enjoyed experience at Gambino Winery. Recommend this excursion.
Martino was an excellent driver and guide. We 2 couples were picked up from our hotel in a very comfortable luxury vehicle. Then we were driven up Mt Etna, stopping occasionally to view lava rock, craters, and evidence of towns that had once existed but had been covered by ash and lava.
Then we stopped at a rest stop to use facilities (for pay) and get a snack along with hundreds of others. There was a long slow line to pay an extra €5 fee to see the large craters, which was not included in our trip price.
Then we drove to a honey farm, joining hundreds of other people. At the farm were tasting samplings and a gift shop. I noticed most tourists there were using ONE TOOTHPICK for each sample brought to their mouth, which grossed me right out.
After this we joined hundreds of other people at the Gambino winery, where we sat in a large room with about 40 tables of other small parties nearby. Think cafeteria.
At our price point we certainly didn’t expect to feel herded with others at the stopping points along the way or to need to pay extra to see craters.
In hindsight our party thought we could’ve easily driven ourselves up the mountain and could’ve had a more pleasurable experience at a smaller boutique winery for far less than we paid for this tour.
We can’t recommend this tour.

Hello,
We are Sorry for the 5€ ticket for the Silvestri Craters, but It was entroduced 2 weeks ago by the owner of "Funivie dell' Etna" who owns that part of Land.
It has always been free and open to the public, and there is a legal battle underway with the Etna park authority and the municipality of Nicolosi to bring it back to being free as it was before.
For this we apologize even thoug it is not our fault!
As for crowded places, there's only one volcano Etna, and it's normal to find lots of people there, given that it's one of Sicily's most beautiful and evocative attractions.
To use the restroom, you pay 50 cents because at 2,000 meters there's no water from the system, so they have to bring it in by truck. This costs money, and since the restroom is inside a private bar, the owner has to recoup the costs.
As for the honey farm and the Gambino winery, they're very popular because they have excellent products, are professional and courteous, and have become very successful over time.
Generally, when places aren't crowded, they're either not of high quality or too expensive and therefore not within everyone's reach.
What a great trip. Giovanni was on time and was a great guide. He spoke quite good English and was very knowledgeable with the facts and best locations for viewing in the area. An experienced driver, and made us feel welcome and safe. Highly recommended

This was an amazing day- Martino was our driver and guide for the day. He was so excited to share his knowledge of the area with us. He was professional, friendly and a great driver. We started by getting picked up on time from our hotel. Then we drove out to Etna park, stopping along the way several times as we climbed higher to see a small village that got covered during one of the more recent eruptions, for several photo opportunities. Martino, should he ever want a career change, was an amazing photographer! We learned about the three types of rocks produced by Etna and then we had some free time to climb inside and around two unique craters (Monti Silvestri was the easier climb) We stopped at a small honey “farm” more of a shop and tasted some interesting flavors that we could purchase and the onto Gambino winery.
A wonderful way to end the day. The staff were all lovely and the pictures on Viator don’t really do the winery justice nor the lunch served. The wines were all great, if you liked one they were more than happy to pour you extra. The lunch was all paired perfectly with each wine and you were served 3 courses plus dessert. They also made it easy to ship internationally and fair pricing (I was expecting to spend triple the amount in shipping costs) Again the pictures don’t do this experience justice. Would highly recommend and Martino was amazing!
Our entire experience was lovely. It was my daughter and I who did the tour. Martino was our guide for the day. This was an amazing experience! The weather was cool compared to the hot weather in Catania. Martino was thoughtful and stopped for many photos!

This was a perfect way to see Mount Etna. Richardo was very knowledgeable and it was just enough time to see what we needed to see. The wine tasting was beautiful and the trip to the honey stop was very interesting.
What a great time! Phillip was awesome. His English could’ve been a little better but it was still a great time. Etna did not disappoint and the farm stop was special. Just wish I could’ve tipped our guide more. Meeting the owner of the vineyard was great. He talked with us for a while and offered some dessert wine. What a treat.
This was the BEST! And it was because of the gentle soul of our driver, Martino! He was so gracious and kind and we loved how he stopped multiple time along the route to enable us to take pictures. He was such an amazing person and we really enjoyed getting to know him.

Excellent! Excellent Tour, and what a great winery, Gambino winery is AWESOME. We were a little unfortunate because of the snow, we could not get to the hiking areas of Mount Etna, but it WAS UNBELIEVABLE. We had Ricardo as our guide and HE IS SUPER COOL, VERY KNOWLEDGABLE and speaks good English....I recommend this tour to everyone, we may just come back to Catania for this tour!!

Martino was very nice and informative. He stopped along the way to Mt. Etna to show us sites. Loved the Gambino Winery tour. Very informative tour of the winery. Very generous with their pours too. People were very friendly.
The term "tour" should be removed from the title - there was no tour. The driver was on time and did a great job getting us to Mt. Etna and the winery. So if you just need a driver this would be perfect (pricey - but good). The winery is a beautiful place/location - just incredible. However, the biggest challenge was that the driver spoke almost no English, which made things a little difficult and he couldn't share any information about what we were seeing as we drove to Mt. Etna or the winery, etc. The description also mentioned that we would be visiting a honey farm and that didn't happen and because the driver spoke almost no English it was difficult to inquire and understand why that stop didn't happen.

Dear Karen (the dear is obviously sarcastic!!!) you have purchased the "Etna tour+ lunch in a winery and wine tasting" product with the option that also includes the visit to Taormina.
The tour of Etna and the lunch with wine tasting in the cellar alone requires a full 8 hours starting from Catania or Taormina.
You also added Taormina, which means another 2 hours minimum.
The problem is that you left from the port of Messina, that is half an hour longer on the way there and the same on the way back, and you had 8 hours available, from 08:30 am to 16:30 pm.
Do you want to explain to me how the driver was supposed to do everything in 8 hours when It would have needed at least 10 hours?
The only way was to shorten the Etna tour to give you the opportunity to have lunch calmly and enjoy the tasting in the cellar and also get at least an hour to spend in Taormina.
We do our best to please customers!
No one has ever complained about this tour, you are the first!
And I don't think it took a scientist to figure out that the tour of Etna was cut short because of the time available to you.
Furthermore the driver told me that he had also warned you from the beginning that the Etna tour would be shorter given the limited time available to you.
So don't complain to us but to the Cruise Company that gives to you too short time!
We had a wonderful day on this tour. The whole experience was out standing and we can’t recommend this tour highly enough.. We were met exactly on
time in an air conditioned Mercedes by Our guide Martino. Martino was a pleasure to spend the day with.. He spoke perfect English and was informative and attentive without being intrusive. The ride to Mount Etna was as interesting as being at Etna itself. There were were plenty stops for photo opportunities and to learn about life near and on Etna. The winery tour and tasting were wonderful.. The wine offerings and lunch were generous and delicious. Fantastic day, thank you so much Martino!
Mt Etna also beautiful vineyards and highlights of Taormina - very much enjoyed the little church all the way up on the hill the view was spectacular. Our driver Martin was excellent! Very professional and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our time with him he was very kind and complimentary with our very limited Italian.
